Proving that her “job” as “special envoy for the Shield of Americas” was just a face-saving sham, or maybe that Trump isn’t paying her enough for twiddling her thumbs to cover Bryon’s online cash transfers, Kristi Noem is now moonlighting for a Canadian mining company:
Former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who after her ouster from President Donald Trump’s Cabinet was handed a spot on a brand new multinational anti-crime initiative, has a new job advising Canadian mining company NovaRed, the firm announced in a press release Tuesday.
The company said Noem will support its “mission of acquiring and advancing critical mineral exploration opportunities through its artificial intelligence-enhanced technology platform” [Jenna Moonin, “Kristi Noem Gets a New Gig,” News of the United States, 2026.06.16].
Noem has no work experience in mining or AI-enhanced technology. She has never run a successful or lasting private-sector venture. Her debaculous 14 months in Homeland Security and anti-Canada snark should make her radioactive to corporate Canada. (Radioactive… the company is branching into uranium exploration.)
Noem is the latest of five new additions to the NovaRed advisory board in the last few weeks. Since early May, NovaRed has added to its board an advisor to the royal family of the United Arab Emirates; a DC lawyer focused on environmental, social, and governance issues, a Florida heavy-equipment magnate; and a U.S. Army intelligence veteran and consultant. Amidst résumés like those, Noem looks like window dressing.
NovaRed changed its name from Rumble Resources in February to avoid confusion with an Australian mining company of the same name. NovaRed née Rumble Resources was incorporated in British Columbia in 2017.
Disadvantaged populations have been subject to mining-driven environmental racism for hundreds if not thousands of years and in 2014 Nobel Prize winner, Professor Paul Krugman warned Americans that Earth hating Republicans want to make America one big strip mine.

So Noem is now a landman, interesting. My guess is this motivated by uranium in the southern Black Hills.
They obviously like Ms. Noem. She lead the free state of South Dakota while the governor of North Dakota closed down and saved lives, she lead on and the totally free deaths that caused made her shine brighter. That pesky North Dakotan is still in the trump cabinet. He must pay to play. He’s got the money.
Is her boyfriend involved? its a two family affair after all. Kristi’s Ranchero has a!ot of miles on it and that needs replacement too.
They ain’t paying for her expertise. I am certain they know how to dispose of unwanted pets. They can’t be paying for her looks. So it must be who she knows.

You know Larry, I gave up casting in bronze because it skyrocketed in price. I then cast in Aluminium pronounced the British way but I hated it. I ended up casting in glass but that’s also bad because only two out of three make it. Oh well.
Noem had a bit part in the Agnico Eagle-DENR-EPA scheme at the Gilt Edge Superfund Site a few years ago. Agnico-Eagle walked away from that deal after a few years,. I don’t think we ever heard why, but I assume that the amount of gold was not enough to take on the risk of distrubring cadmium and other toxics in the area poisoned by previous mining. Probably a good decision on their part. South Dakota still is responsible for the Superfund site after Brohm Mining decamped back to Canada/Australia. I hope she isn’t going to push NovaRed into a similar scheme.
