Ah, there are fireworks back home.

On Tuesday, the Madison Chamber of Commerce said it couldn’t afford to put on the city’s traditional July 4th fireworks show:

Thursday morning, America’s greatest Dairy Queen boss DeLon Mork and realtor/insurer Brandon Burg ran down to KJAM to announce they have formed the Madison Fireworks Association to make darn sure we still blow things up over the north shore of Lake Herman on July 4. Mork says they got Prairie Village to agree to host the show right away.

The new Madison Fireworks Association is taking donations at Dairy Queen and at Premier Bank. You can also call DeLon at the DQ, 605-256-2042, and he says he’ll come meet you to chat and take whatever money you want to hand over. They are aiming to get $20K to get fireworks and porta-potties this year and bank seed money for future fireworks shows.

  1. What will all those blood thirsty mosquito’s do?

  2. Porter Lansing

Isn’t this an example of “small government” Republican politics being unable to meet the most minimal of extras?

Democratic socialism (i.e. Everybody that can help, helps.) is prolly going to save the holiday. YAY!!
