Communist Family Values: China Sacks Official for Adultery

No wonder Governor Kristi Noem is so worried about China. Communist China apparently takes family values more seriously than she does:

China’s former foreign minister Qin Gang was removed from his position in July after he reportedly fathered a child during an extramarital affair while ambassador to the US.

Senior Chinese officials were informed last month that Mr Qin was dismissed due to ‘lifestyle issues’, a euphemism for sexual misconduct, the Wall Street Journal reported.

…Mr Qin is now reportedly cooperating with the investigation, which is focusing on whether his conduct compromised China’s national security [Sophia Yan, “Sacked Chinese Foreign Minister ‘Had an Affair and Fathered Child’ While US Ambassador,” UK Telegraph, 2023.09.19].

When China sees a top government official committing adultery, it sees a risk to the government and the nation. But when South Dakota sees its executive-in-chief disappearing from the office to cheat on her spouse with a married man, the cheating chief responds with sideshow patter about holy guns, bad science, and those darned foreigners.

I guess really standing up for the sanctity of marriage is just Communism.

It’s a trust issue imo, and generally harms kids involved.

How much is PUBLIC information: Noem’s flights, hotel reservations as well as security details and arrangements? Has anyone from the local press inquired about any of this yet?

I also wonder how long her former staff will stay quiet. Especially the five who were Chief of Staff. Some of them have to be more loyal to Thune, Rounds and Johnson – than they are to Noem.

USA: Religion plays a significant role in shaping societal norms and values. In the United States, many early settlers were motivated by religious freedom, and the influence of Protestantism, particularly Puritanism, has persisted to varying degrees. Europe, while home to diverse religious beliefs, has undergone a process of secularization over the years, leading to more liberal attitudes in some countries.
China: Confucianism: Confucianism has had a significant impact on Chinese society, emphasizing the importance of propriety, filial piety, and social harmony. Within this framework, there is an expectation of maintaining social order and adhering to established hierarchical relationships. As a result, personal conduct is often expected to align with these principles, including exhibiting restraint when it comes to discussions or displays of sexuality.
Russia: Orthodox Christianity: The Russian Orthodox Church plays a significant role in shaping societal norms and values. It promotes traditional moral values and a conservative stance on issues such as homosexuality. This religious influence contributes to a more conservative view on personal conduct regarding sexuality, with emphasis on traditional family values and heteronormativity.

There are plenty of MAGA morons who consider Trump’s unbridled, “unchristian” history of adultery as inconsequential. As long as Trump pays lip-service to their so-called Christian conservative causes, they are willing to rationalize away his reprehensible personal conduct. The same probably goes for Noem, although I have no idea if she has had/is having any affair with Corey Lewandowski. I actually doubt it. But I do find it indefensibly offensive that she has reattached to Lewandowski for any purpose. His vulgar harassment of Trashelle Odom in Vegas in September, 2021, should have tolled a permanent death knell for that bum in South Dakota––and elsewhere. Maggie Seidel knew what he was. Noem should have listened.

How many of these rendezvous were paid for by state sales taxes, property taxes, state fees, or federal Covid relief, crop subsidies or unspent highway dollars?

Way, w a y back, even our second worst ever US representative, Johnson, had his undies in a bunch over “China”. China is big. China is about to be a nothing burger. China lacks a blue water navy. China’s demographic pyramid is collapsing. This will likely be the 20th time the Chinese “nation” collapsed in on itself.
What is it in the republican mind that seeks boogie-men, boogie-nations in a search for borrowed trouble? (Too often while ignoring real trouble.)

China’s belt and road initiative is collapsing from its internal contradictions and poor management.
