Jenae Hansen has some cross-state company. Rapid City Democrat James Preston announced his candidacy for District 32 House yesterday. Details are thin, but Preston promises a website soon.
District 32 is currently represented in the House by Republicans Kristin Conzet and Sean McPherson. Rep. Conzet is in her fourth term in the House and cannot run for that seat again in 2018. McPherson is in his first term and appears to have recovered from losing his leg to cancer last summer.
The details are thin, like the young man’s tie. He’s going to have to button up that shirt and straighten that tie if he gets into the legislatures, but it is good to see a little Democratic competition in the districts numbered starting with a 3. I wish the young man luck.
Wish him luck and send him a check, Grudz! $20 should cover a decent necktie, right?
Mr. H, a decent silk tie runs far more than what one of those cheap polyester jobs, unless this fellow is willing to go your bow tie route. I look forward to hearing him speak about his position on ties and pant style and law bills soon.
I have never worn a real bow tie and only occasionally a clip-on. I get all of my ties at Goodwill.
His facial hair should sell in Rapid City where they like rough and ready men. If his tie is less than perfect that’s probably ok. What he really needs is a flag pin for his suit.
He sports a swell haircut as well, Mr. Rorschach. I expect he will do fine.
