County auditors have sent the Secretary of State updated figures on absentee voting in the Republican gubernatorial runoff, and the signs I saw in the July 13 absentee data of strong early participation have remained solid.
As of today, the SOS’s absentee ballot stats show 26,275 ballots received from Republican voters for the Doeden/Rhoden runoff. That’s 150 more absentee ballots than Republicans cast in the June 21 primary.
KELO-TV keeps peddling “voter fatigue” as it cites low turnout at George McGovern Middle School as of lunch time. But the absentee vote shows strong interest in the Doeden/Rhoden contest among Republicans who like to get things done early.
