Speaking of Dusty Johnson and campaign finance, the Congressman hoping to win today’s gubernatorial primary has at least two prominent backers from Kristi Noem’s camp.
According to the Dusty for Governor pre-primary campaign finance report, former Noem staffer and campaigner and current Rhoden Administration employee Ben Koisti has contributed $250 to Johnson’s campaign.
Koisti isn’t the only beneficiary of Noem’s patronage to break from Rhoden. After getting lucrative state jobs from Noem and one of Kristi’s daughters as a wife, Noem’s son-in-law and Watertown City Councilman Kyle Peters has given Dusty for Gov $2,500 this year.
One would think that Team Noem would be rallying behind Larry Rhoden, the man Noem made Governor with her departure for D.C. last year. But evidently, even some people closest to her think her guy isn’t the best guy to be Governor.
Is the backing of Noem associates as advantageous as Rounds having the solid backing of con man/criminal Donald Trump? :-)
Kyle must believe he can buy a talk about data centers.
