CPAC Doesn’t Want Kristi Noem for President or Vice-President

Even CPAC doesn’t think Kristi Noem is ready for the Presidency.

The Dallas fascist fest wrapped up yesterday, with conservative CPAC attendees hopped up on bookend speeches by Hungary’s current dictator and America’s homoerotic dark lord of doom. The CPACkers, who have been the primary targets of Kristi Noem’s campaign for national celebrity, voted in straw polls to name their favorite picks for President and Vice-President.

The Presidential straw poll was no surprise: Trump got 69.1% of the vote. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis got 23.7%. Texas Senator Ted Cruz got 2% of the vote after speaking to this crowd on his home turf. 18 other names, including Noem, divided up the remaining 5%, with none of the leftovers claiming over 1%.

In an unusual sign of curiosity, CPAC organizers put a second Presidential question in the straw poll: Whom would you want to run for President in 2024 if Trump doesn’t run? The second-choice poll put DeSantis in the lead at 65%. Trump Jr. took second at 8%, then Cruz at 6%, Trump’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at 5%. None of the press mentions Noem as standing out in the remaining sub-2% leftovers.

Noem only barely crawled above the fold by placing second in the CPAC vice-presidential straw poll. She pulled 9%, behind DeSantis’s 43%.

One of my Twitter correspondents suggested those results show that even after over two years of her national campaign, Noem has failed to make herself known to the CPAC crowd. Au contraire: she has bored the crowd at multiple CPAC events. She’s on CPACkers’ favorite TV stations all the time. America’s most radical jet-setting conservatives know Kristi Noem plenty well, and they don’t consider her their first choice for #1 or #2 in the White House.

Granted it is just a straw poll, but I wonder how the VP vote splits if DeSantis isn’t an option because he’s the top of the ticket.

Maybe they did say… wouldn’t trust that info to make it onto this blog even if it was available.

“CPAC Doesn’t Want Kristi Noem for President or Vice-President”

Either does the rest of America who are tired of these absolutely worthless show boat talking heads.

CPAC is to America like Kristi Noem is to South Dakota: you can put lipstick on a silk purse but don’t cast pearls before a sow.

No one should be surprised. She is gaining political baggage daily.

Noem will fade after second term as gov!

  5. larry kurtz 2022-08-07 14:50

Since Republicans brag about political baggage but after Mrs. Noem begged President Biden for disaster relief twice those must have been two too many socialistic straws for ideological purists like Mr. Rosburg and Mr. Kephart, right?

  6. Jackilope 2022-08-07 14:52

Let’s not give her a second term of Gov. all together. That would be best for SD & even give further pause for VP candidate.

Well, face it, Governor Noem is boring. She’s a one trick pony. Oddly, she is just not good at raising her voice and delivering red meat and that crowd loves red meat, the more outrageous and dripping in blood the better. Getting 9% of the VP vote at CPC might be her high water mark.

So now Kristi has to settle for a flunky position in Donald Trump’s cabinet. The VP job will go to someone who has a bit more ability than Noem.

Noem better practice her buttlicking skills with Lew, because she’s going to be doing it a lot if she happens to score a Cabinet position. I think, though, Secretary of anything is out of her reach, so we might as well guess how far Kristi will drop in the Trump government draft. I would say she’d be in line for a Deputy Secretary position at Interior or Ag. That would give her an opportunity to rape the land, kill off endangered species, and maybe blast off some fireworks. On the other hand, she might do a good job as Deputy Secretary of Education, where she could destroy that department with her incompetence.

On the other hand, she may end up just being Press Secretary. Lying comes naturally for her and lying for Trump wouldn’t be out of her skill set.

Good question for a reporter to ask Noem: “Yes or no, if Donald Trump returns to the White House and you are offered to be his running mate or a major position in the new Trump White House, will you resign as Governor in mid-term to complete your quest to return to Washington, D.C.?”

In fact, this may be the most important question in this 2022 campaign, if making an informed choice is important to voters.

South Dakota has only had a barely part-time Governor since she left Congress to return to Washington, via a stopover/flyover as Governor in Pierre. She is a D.C. resident wannabe more than anything else.

What is Noem whining about now, I ask you? NBA announcer Jalen Rose and his comments about the offensiveness of the name Mount Rushmore.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0m1fgrBAU7Y

This magat announcer seems to do all the talming for Noem. I made it to the 5 minute mark before puking.

Okay, so my keyboard misspelled talking. Sue Noem Nothing.

  12. grudznick 2022-08-07 19:06

Mr. mike, if you weren’t from Iowa they’d probably put you on the Mount Rushmore of Woke Leftists here in the Great State of South Dakota. Except nobody really pays attention to Iowegians around these parts.

  13. mike from iowa 2022-08-07 19:58

Grudzilla lies like drumpf and Noem. Same magat party, no doubt. If you didn’t pay ANY attention to this iowegian, you wouldn’t be lying like you just did. It sucks to be you!

I have to believe that Team Noem counts this as a victory. Placing second for an office that she is not “officially” campaigning for (yet) means that the name recognition/saturation is working. Keep running those ads in other states, keep hitting the appearances as long as the coffers are brimming with funds. Campaigning is WAY more fun than governing.

Sorry Grudz I do not mean to pile on but YOU as the most INEFFECTIVE blogger in South Dakota history would not know presidental timber from a burnt chinese elm tree. NO OFFENSE INTENTED! Jamie Smith is a solid candidate who will work with both parties and find reasonable solutions to our states issues. I am more impressed with him every day. He is the real deal.

  16. Curt 2022-08-07 23:49

Normally, I have very high regard for Don Pay and his comments. But today he references the Governess and uses the words “skill set”. I object. There is no evidence of any “skills” in her act.

  17. tara volesky 2022-08-08 20:54

Jamie Smith will destroy the phony on the pony. She doesn’t even want to debate him. The Republicans are fed up with all the lies, frivolous lawsuits, and investigations. It’s time for new leadership for ALL PEOPLE! Do the right thing SD and Republicans, vote person over party.

  18. grudznick 2022-08-08 21:06

Mrs. Volesky, grudznick will consider your wise words, unless you yourself are running and then I will feel drawn to vote for you.

She’d certainly do less damage (dumb) than Junior (dumber). Terri Gross NPR, calls it the “crack up” of the Republican party, seminal events in the last 35 years that led to that largely FASCIST bunch of knee jerk bozos in this country making up that party, today. Tomorrow on her broadcast.

Gonna have to defund NPR, eh grdz; put those “libbie haters” (your words) back in their gerrymandered places.

I’ve just been calling their all-out corruption their “death-spiral”, mocking Senator Round’s favorite phrase.

  20. leslie 2022-08-09 00:00

    FBI raided Mara Largo today.

Republicans are calling it “escalated weaponization.”

I know, I know, that guy before the black guy had an affair w/an intern and she kept a stained dress to prove it, despite his lying denial, while Ken Starr tried and failed to prove Whitewater corruption by that same guy and his universally “hated” wife who “lost” to Trump with the assistance of Russian hackers.

  21. John Dale 2022-08-10 13:06

    That’s not true.

    They just want Trump more.

    Like.

    WAAAAAY more.

My recommendation to the Governor was to let Trump move forward and shoot a few people in the face (politically) and gain the lay of the land for 2028.
