Noem Flies to Florida Again This Week, Doesn’t Even Get Picture on CPAC Featured Speakers Roster

Between fundraising trips to Jackson Hole and Long Island, campaigner Kristi Noem is squeezing in another trip to sunny Florida this week. She’s buried in the long list of radical insurrectionists and other republic-wreckers speaking at CPAC in Orlando. Noem is scheduled to speak Friday afternoon at 12:55 EST, between writer Julie Kelly, who claims the January 6 insurrection is really a Democratic Party scam, and writer Katie Pavlich and Trump’s Israel ambassador David Friedman, who will praise Trump’s failed Middle East peace efforts.

A post-prandial chat sandwiched between non-elected fourth-stringers doesn’t look like headline placement for America’s Governor. Noem doesn’t even get her picture on the CPAC Featured Speakers page:

Even shrinking the webpage to minimum, I still found Noem below the fold times three. Poor Kristi.

It’s impossible to even imagine a bigger basket of deplorables than the Russian Duma but CPAC sniffs that butt, for sure.

  2. Eve Fisher 2022-02-22 12:40

Poor thing – she keeps trying so hard to get on someone’s list as top dog.

  3. ska sunka 2022-02-22 12:45

Not much for diversity on that list, but who is surprised?

  4. Nix 2022-02-22 12:49

When Kimberly Guilfoyle lists above you at CPAC …….
Houston , We have a problem.

    Big Hat
    Big Boots
    No cattle.

    America’s Governor.

  5. O 2022-02-22 12:57

Hopefully, while the cat’s away, the mice will kill a bunch more silly campaigning disguised as legislation.

It will be interesting to see if this group of nincompoops has a ruckus about Russian aggression in Ukraine. Nigel Farage and some of the other people speaking are part of Putin’s Western poopdeck, seeking to steer any response in a Neville Chamberlain direction. In past years CPAC speakers might be more inclined to toss a few nukes Putin’s way, but Trumpism and its dependence of Putin money and election sabotage has turned many CPAC attendees into limp-wristed appeasers of Putin.

  7. buckobear 2022-02-22 14:30

Looks like a good poster to put up in the post office’s “Most Wanted” section.

Search “Kristi Noem at Council for National Policy” to see a MAGA politician’s status among the moneyed elite.
    – I did and zero has been said because she’s had zero invitations to meet with the secret society that drives the bus.
    – The Council for National Policy connects “the manpower and media of the Christian right with the finances of Western plutocrats and the strategy of right-wing Republican political operatives.
    – CNP’s membership is comprised of leaders in the family values, national defense and decency movements woven by less than two hundred members of the Dead Billionaires Club like the Adolph Coors Foundation, the Koch brothers, Richard DeVos, Richard Scaife and other billionaires and foundations who have invested heavily in developing a complex web of far-Right groups, think-tanks and politicians over the last forty years to return the United States to its pre–Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 19th century capitalist roots.

  9. O 2022-02-22 15:22

Porter, is this Ginni Thomas’ group?

  10. cathy 2022-02-22 15:24

Egads! Sitting through even a fraction of that list would be worse than the public comment portion of a public hearing for a hog CAFO permit. Will Corey Lewandowski be there?

  11. mike from iowa 2022-02-22 15:48

A ‘Who’s Who’ of who’s that. Plus a part time failing guv from South Duhkota.

  12. james 2022-02-22 15:58

Tulsi Gabbard got top billing? Tulsi Gabbard? The Democrat candidate for President?

I have always thought that something is not right with her. She makes me very suspicious and a bit confused when she speaks. Now, pictured in the middle of that crowd, she seems almost normal by comparison.

She kinda reminds me of Kristi. But Kristi sucks up to Trump and I think Tulsi favors Putin.

  13. larry kurtz 2022-02-22 16:37

“Ginni, serves on the board of C.N.P. Action, the political advocacy arm of the right-wing Council for National Policy, which the Times reports circulated an “action steps” document after the 2020 presidential election that advocated for challenging the election results in Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania.”

  14. jerry 2022-02-22 16:50

Tulsi is simply a traitor, like the rest of the traitors listed. Here is a comparison between the old cold war and the new cold war with the listed above in the new cold war

  15. mike from iowa 2022-02-22 16:59

Not trying to get too far afield, but, Thomas network was involved in trying to overturn election and Uncle Tom Clarence still is allowed to sit on the Scotus and rewrite laws thanks to magats.

  16. Mark Anderson 2022-02-22 17:23

Well James, I thought Tulsi Gabbard immediately too. Maybe Kristi can enlist or something, or she’ll be outdone by a Hindu from Hawaii. So sad. Tulsi is still on her Harris spite trip, gets her in good with the foxies, Kristi can try more of that. The female fighting thing, foxies love that one.

  17. Porter Lansing 2022-02-22 18:05

The list of notables at CPAC make one wonder if your low esteemed Governor is really campaigning for higher office or if she’s just “horribly bored” being in SD.
“How ‘ya gonna keep ’em, down on the farm, after they’ve seen Pearee?”

  18. Tom 2022-02-22 19:33

we are doomed…these zombies are multiplying faster than the covid plague…the end is nigh…and not Bill Nigh…

  19. Nick Nemec 2022-02-22 19:40

What airplane is she taking to Orlando? Is it owned by the State of South Dakota, or is she flying commercial? How many state employees is she taking along as staff and security? She needs to reimburse the state.

  20. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2022-02-22 20:29

Good question, Nick! Do you know the new state plane’s tail number? Maybe we could check the FAA flight tracker….

I would think that taking a state plane to a purely political event out of state while the Legislature is in Session would not qualify for any state funding. Public resources, political campaigning, SDCL 12-27-20….

  21. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2022-02-22 20:31

Cathy, I didn’t see Lewandowski on the speaker list. Nor did I see Geoff Diehl, the guy Lew is helping run for governor in Massachusetts.

  22. Guy 2022-02-22 21:36

If I were Jamie Smith, I’d keep reminding voters every time that jet flew-off: “Where’s Noem today? Well, she’s not here in South Dakota. I heard she’s over in Florida, New York, Texas, California, Virginia….I guess the money’s calling her, so, she can raise enough funds to move to Washington D.C. ?”

  23. jerry 2022-02-22 21:51

Thune is prolly gonna be there to praise Putin like he did on the July 4th junket to Moscow.

  24. Arlo Blundt 2022-02-22 22:09

Well..I don’t think I’ll interrupt watching the college basketball season finales to try to pick up CPAC live on one of the obscure political channels or over the internet…talk about rats in heat…what a collection. No Mike Pence , or certainly, no Liz Chaney or Mitt…but even weirder, no Lindsey Graham or Tim Scott. You cannot have uttered a word of reality regarding the outcome of the 2020 election and appear at an event headlining the Great Deceiver. The Governor’s light is fading, even in the company of this second string outfit. She’s deep on the bench, awaiting mop up duties.

  25. Mark 2022-02-22 22:17

What a great campaign ad.. ‘Krist Noem would rather warm up the crowd to hear from the great cosevative luminary KEVIN SORBO than stick around Pierre to, well, GOVERN..

  26. Arlo Blundt 2022-02-22 23:21

Mark…you’re on to something. She’s AWOL from her job to commune on the sideline with Michelle Tafoya, Papa John the Pizza Guy, Dr. Oz a TV snakeoil man, and a convention of various bald guys…The whole prospect is frightening…what do these people say to each other when they aren’t out shilling their latest conspiracy. What’s cool at CPAC. Yikes.

  27. Richard Schriever 2022-02-23 06:13

James, Tulsi was the darling exemplar of a couple of “extreme leftist” folks i had to unfriend due to their unquestioning support for her madness. I recall the final event was around her frequent visits to Moscow and promoting Putin’s ambitions. she is/was definitely the definition of an “in-name-only” kind of Pol. IMO, there is something akin to the larvae of an earwig rummaging through her brain. I would dare say she is even more unhinged to the likes of Taylor-Greene or Boebert. Thank God she was not re-elected by the saner part of Hawaii in 2020. One of those folks who campaigned in one vein, then showed her true colors post election.

  28. 96Tears 2022-02-23 17:53

Will she be doing a book signing at CPAC to shill her alleged autobiography? It’s now on Amazon, Not My First Rodeo.

Sorry, but I don’t have the bandwidth to force myself to read her crap that she obviously didn’t write. Ought to be a best seller on the Proud Boys and Oathkeepers best sellers list — for the six guys among them who can read. I wonder if the book has a centerfold.

  29. jerry 2022-02-23 20:27

NOem went to Jackson to comfort the laundered money by the despots of this world. NOem would like those scoundrels to park their ill gotten gains in her gangsta piggy bank here in South Dakota.

“JACKSON, Wyo. — The honky-tonk bar under neon lights on the town square serves Grand Teton Amber Ale and Yellowstone Lemonade. The Cowboy Coffee Co. offers bison chili, and the Five & Dime General Store sells Stetson hats and souvenirs made from bullets.

In this tourist-friendly Western town, home to four celebrated arches fashioned from elk antlers, lawyers and estate planners draw customers with something far more exclusive.

It’s called the “Cowboy Cocktail,” and in recent years the coveted financial arrangement has attracted a new set of outsiders to the least populated state in America.

The cocktail and variations of it — consisting of a Wyoming trust and layers of private companies with concealed ownership — allow the world’s wealthy to move and spend money in extraordinary secrecy, protected by some of the strongest privacy laws in the country and, in some cases, without even the cursory oversight performed by regulators in other states.”

  30. John 2022-02-25 22:32

Snowjob noem failed on all accounts.

Perhaps she was drunk, not knowing where she was, then corrected her quip that she was in Florida.
She blamed Biden for trump’s $400 million dollar cancellation of the military aid to Ukraine (the subject of trump’s 1st impeachment).
She moronically pretended the US is responsible for SWIFT – the European based banking convention.
She’s a moron needing to be buried in the the back forty.
