“America’s Governor”: Noem Wears Mask at CPAC, Lewandowski Peddles Posters

The CPAC crowd booed when told to wear masks in compliance with hotel rules and local ordinances in Orlando at their weekend Trumpfest. To her credit, well-traveled Governor Kristi Noem did comply while signing autographs on Saturday at a booth with her campaign groomer Corey Lewandowski:

Lewandowski kept his mask off, though, and promoted his gal with posters for her deep-red-palmed base showing Kristi in her more usual costume:

“America’s Governor”? I thought we elected her to be South Dakota’s Governor.

Darn—if that photo of Kristi following CDC guidelines could have tamped down any political challengers in 2022, those posters (notice the one on the table with the horsey) opens the door for a smart candidate who knows how to play to the South Dakota electorate.

Ah, the juxtaposition. Start making money today with promotional products made in the USA.

    Haven’t you heard?

Between President of the United States and each state’s governor, a new office has been created:
    America’s Governor

    :-)

A few years back when The Tea Party started, Cory said at one point, I’ll tell you what they are, they are just Republicans. But they aren’t, they are a new wave, a dangerous new wave. Look back at the Republicans you used to criticize a few years back. They’re looking pretty reasonable right now. So many moderate Republicans have been attacked by this new radical right they are exiting politics. We need to get her out!!!

What South Dakota business made the posters; nice income for one of the many thriving business the Gov brags about in her Pierre Fox Studio. Probably none would be a good guess. Only the Gov and her lackeys share the campaign bounty.

Operating under the arm pit of the renowned leader of the republican party waiting for the order to run for Gov or Senate (to replace RINO Thune) must be enlightening and fulfilling, not so much being the Gov of a goofy 1 party state full of republican fools and a few republican killers. Now, it seems South Dakota lost its Gov to America (whatever that means).

Thune must have sore lips and the brownest nose as he wasn’t mentioned by the renowned leader in his speech in FL. Thune don’t put those lips back and keep that nose at ready or you will be put back on the RINO list.

November 2022 cannot come soon enough.

Ah happy, I used to give the tea party the finger because they used to hang anti Omama signs over the interstate if I noticed early enough I would swing right up by them to let them know what I thought of them. You need to let them know you don’t fear them, why would you, when they give you so much laughter and joy.

lol @ “groomer”. Do you think Lewandowski has any 4-H experience? Kind of a weird adult learnin’ curve if he don’t.

COVID Kristi got another free ride in the Argus today. A huuuuuuge one. Is she paying her scribes by the word? How much per word or is it by the column inch? Three pages were dedicated to COVID Kristi at CPAC and the boatload of lies she spewed there and again on CBS Face the Nation. Not the least effort was made in South Dakota’s largest weekly rag to fact check. Three pages to COVID Kristi and CPAC. CPAC!

96 Tears, The Argus proves what fascism is all about. They live it and breathe it in these fluff pieces of deceit. If anyone doesn’t know what that word means and how articles like this play into the scheme, check this out.

“Since before Donald Trump took office as president of the United States, historians have debated whether he is a fascist. As a teacher of World War II history who has written about fascism, I’ve found that historians have a consensus definition of the term, broadly speaking.

Given the term’s current – and sometimes erroneous – use, I think it’s important to distinguish what fascism is and is not.” https://asiatimes.com/2021/02/what-is-fascism/

Check it out and you can clearly see that NOem/trump are what they are. NOem needs to stay in South Dakota, the rest of the country does not need more stank.

Jerry, I’m not sure that the article you link is the correct perspective on fascism. It’s a lot more complicated.

A good book on fascism is “The Anatomy of Fascism” by Robert O. Paxton. Another book that describes how Hitler came to power is “The Death of Democracy” by Benjamin Carter Hett.

well…Governor Kristi looks to take up the Sarah Palin gig…and its not a bad one at that…travel about, give your canned speech, sell knick knaks…you can net over a million a year and you never have to buy lunch. In an election year, the sky is the limit. While being governor creates a brand, the pesky responsibility of governing will tend to get in the way of potential earnings. So, the key for the Governor is to find some balance between her responsibility to the people of South Dakota and the the demands of her public, at large. A daunting task…but, its a living.

Ohh how wonderful to see KN in a mask. Seems a little late after so much illness & sadness amongst the people she is supposed to lead?. What is tragic is the amount of people who followed Trump and her, they followed by example. Some say “our leaders don’t do it, why should we – we are not sheep”.

  12. jerry 2021-03-01 17:11

Of course Mr. Pay, a book gets into the details. Most here have little time to even read a post little alone a book. What our legislature (Dummy Castleberry, Idiot Party) does have time for, is more of this fascism.

“A resolution affirming the Legislature’s support of Second Amendment rights unanimously passed the Senate State Affairs Committee on Monday.” Rapid City Journal 03/01/2021

I worry more about insect and bear spray now than guns. I see how easy republican terrorists can use these against our policemen and women.

In other South Dakota legislative news, Little Al Fontleroy is considering a resolution to understand the process of potty training and how it could be applied to NOem to keep her from soiling the capital grounds.

Whatever it is—fascism, white-supremacist populism, crony capitalism, kakistocracy—we need to get rid of it.

  14. leslie 2021-03-01 19:24

She’ll wear camo caps dogwhistling her approval and welcome to the state, of 2nd amendment redneck white supremacist paramilitary goons, but won’t model safe mask wearing to 880,000 citizens of South Dakota.

Now they are formally called domestic terrorists.

  15. jerry 2021-03-01 21:43

America’s governor NOem has the highest rates of unemployment in the nation. Here fascist lies cover the fact that NOem does not count Native’s as South Dakota citizens. Count the natives and you get the real picture of a failed fascist state.

Did Ted Nugent fill his pants again for a big laugh at CPAC? No? Darn, that would have added some class.

I’d like to think we won’t see D. Trump on a ballot again. Some think the straw poll showing 55 percent of respondents saying they would vote for him in a hypothetical 2024 primary was much lower than expected. After all, this is his crowd! Second place went to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with 21 percent. The good news for COVID Kristi is she came in third. The bad news is she got only 4 percent.

After abandoning her official duties for a year during the worst crisis in nearly a century to pander to the Taliban Wing of the Republican Party, all COVID Kristi got in a STRAW POLL was 4 percent. Four percent! Did she and The Lew forget to stuff the straw ballot? Did she learn nothing at the State Fair? You always stuff the straw ballot box at the Farmers Union booth! Did her entourage of state-bankrolled body guards forget to stuff the straw ballot box???

She’s wasted 12 months of being on the state payroll, free government-subsidized housing on Capital Avenue, illegal state plane rides around the nation and untold millions bankrolling her national campaign and RNC operatives on the state’s dime … and for what? Four percent in the CPAC straw poll. Kristi, this was your #1 target audience for an entire year, and you got only 4 percent in a straw poll.

Message to Kristi: You’re a joke. The Lew has abused your relationship. He’ll swap you out for a better ride as soon as someone shows him a contract. Someone more qualified and classier, like Nikki Haley. A Governor and a respected U.N. Ambassador who has demonstrated a titanium spine more than once. Yours is made of Jello. Or maybe The Lew will tap John Thune to run. John’s got some accomplishments and he’s the second most powerful Republican in the U.S. Senate. You? Oh, that’s right. You’re America’s Governor. Like Rudy Giuliani is America’s Mayor.

    (Crickets)

Put down the shovel and stop digging, Kristi. You are out of your league.

America’s Governor? Rudy’s not going to like having his handle pinched like that, but then, he seemed to be up for anything in that new Borat flick. Go home, Noem. Don’t be a Rudy.

  17. jerry 2021-03-01 22:36

Ha Wa, Don’t be a Rudy, good one, dye and all.

  18. Cathy 2021-03-02 12:08

Was she actually autographing those posters?

  19. Mike Livingston 2021-03-02 16:44

I wonder what queenie was saying to herself when the photographer caught her masked up.

    kudos to Jabin Botsford

Cathy, I don’t have a photo of her applying that black sharpie to those posters Corey is vending, but would any of us be surprised?

  21. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2021-03-03 18:14

Then again, check the bookmakers at Odds Shark, who provide data somewhat more objective than the CPAC crowd: best odds go to VP Harris, President Biden, Trump Sr., Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, and Michelle Obama. They list 19 other potential winners. Noem does not make their list.
