West River Democrats now have their official state party field organizer. The South Dakota Democratic Party has hired Texan Cole Adams to work in the Rapid City office to boost Democratic fortunes in the Mountain Time Zone. In his so far very brief career, Adams has campaigned for Democrats in Texas and Virginia:
A native of Lubbock, Texas, Adams has worked on a variety of urban city council campaigns, state house races, and with several rural congressional candidates throughout Texas. Earlier in 2017, Adams served as a Field Organizer in Richmond, Virginia for Ralph Northam’s successful campaign for governor. Adams graduated from Texas Tech University in August 2017, with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies [SDDP, press release, 2017.11.29].
I’ve dinged campaigns in the past for not hiring locally (did no qualified South Dakotans apply for this job?), but hey, we can’t let our xenophobic bunker mentality drive away any more good talent. If Adams is willing to come to South Dakota and take on the immense challenge of manning a field office all by himself in West River, we should be glad to have him. West River Democrats, help the party’s new field organizer field some new voters and winning candidates!
I think you mean he campaigned for Democrats in Texas and Virginia. Toiling in the Cole mines.
Sorry about that, Ror and Cole! I edited a sentence poorly and left out “against”! I’ll edit above!
