Women’s Democracy Group Holds First-Anniversary Fundraiser Today, Claims 18 Candidates Ready to Run

As women rise this fall to speak truth to misogynist power, LEAD South Dakota is hosting a first-anniversary rally this afternoon to raise some money and recount their numerous pro-democracy activities in this annus horribilis Trumpi. Among those activities is the apparent recruitment of eighteen candidates to run for office in 2018:

LEAD South Dakota, November 2017.
LEAD South Dakota, November 2017.

LEAD is officially one year old and we are more fired up than ever. Join us for our one-year-anniversary fundraiser and meet with others who have been forever changed since the 2016 election. Hear from brand new candidates running for office next year and learn about our future plans. We’ll have raffles for fun feminist gear and some cathartic yelling.

Admission is free, but plan to bring your wallet. We want to see change in South Dakota in 2018, and we need your help to do it [LEAD South Dakota, Facebook event post, retrieved 2017.11.18].

LEAD South Dakota gathers at the ICON Lounge, 402 North Main, in downtown Sioux Falls today from 3 p.m. from 5 p.m.
