SF Police Find over 100 Guns, Grenades in East Side Residence

KELO-TV and everyone else is reporting that Sioux Falls police arrested Darren Kyle Zafft, age 29, and Jennifer Marie Cash, age 35, yesterday on “multiple gun-related charges, including possession of explosives and possession of a controlled weapon.” After receiving a call from a neighbor who found a bullet hole in the bedroom wall and a 22-caliber slug in the sheets, police searched Zafft and Cash’s neighboring unit and found over 100 firearms, including some with shortened barrels, and explosives, including grenades.

Darren Zafft appears to be this dude on Facebook:

Exploding police car, shirtless posing with a gun… I believe we have the textbook definition of ammosexual.

Shirtless and hugging iron? Ammosexual, for sure.

  2. Steve Hickey 2015-12-11 12:07

Looks like he was a bail bondsman who liked Scarlett OHaras and a few Sioux Falls bars. Nothing to indicate right or left wing politics or religion. Looks like a young man who couldn’t get enough sex or violence.

  3. Miller 2015-12-11 12:08

Grenades? Where in the hell did he get those?

  4. Eve Fisher 2015-12-11 12:19

You can buy anything you want on the Internet. Re political leanings: Confederate flag, multiple gun, porn and KKK references? 99.99999999% chance he’d consider himself Republican or Libertarian.

  5. Daniel Buresh 2015-12-11 12:44

For the record, they haven’t stated the grenades were live. I’d be surprised if they were. This doesn’t appear to be your typical gun owner. Everyone knows shortening a barrel is a big no-no.

  6. 96Tears 2015-12-11 13:16

Do Darren and Jennifer visit Charles Mix County very often?

  7. mike from iowa 2015-12-11 13:16

What Eve said. Facebook photos SCREAM ammosexual right wing nutter.

  8. Bob Newland 2015-12-11 13:42

I’ll also bet he claims to be a christian.

  9. Roger Cornelius 2015-12-11 13:56

I fear these type of people and groups in South Dakota more than I fear a Muslim or international terrorist.
Sibson turns a blind eye to what this guy represents by saying there is nothing to indicate ammosexual is right or left leaning, why it is clear to most of us and not Sibson is a mystery.

The Southern Poverty Law Center lists these guys as hate groups, right up there with ISIS.

  10. Lynn 2015-12-11 14:01

These two remind me of my former very brief roommates in Ohio that I later found to be survivalists, armed to the teeth, with live grenades and a murder suicide rampage just ready to happen. One is dead from an accidental overdose of painkillers she was addicted to and the other went “dark”.

  11. leslie 2015-12-11 14:20

daniel and barry will argue gun free zones are an invitation to disaster.

“concealed carry or open carry” allows one to defend his/herself, or snipe down at terrorists in the streets, barry recommended.

cut down barrels allow the same convenience our SD concealed carry/anytime/anyplace/any reason laws.

hickey will “miss” the significance of the confederate flag’s acquired, infamous significance (as we know gettysburg SD proudly emblazones its cops with those stars and bars, and remember too, SD Historical Society and /or USD professor/students are now state-funded researching the confederate soldier impact/flood to unpopulated near -to-statehood South Dakota hinterlands in 1870-80s. apparently daugaard wants to justify gettysburg’s virtuosity). Hickey’s credibility is now zero for anything else.

  12. leslie 2015-12-11 14:25

Roger, i confuse sibby w/hickey at times too, and am very, very sad he is back in the equation…we all know the line about feeding trolls;) lynn, you may wanna think about why you associated with “those people”; remember the nile, and see previous sentence! :)

  13. Jenny 2015-12-11 14:34

Thank the neighbor for calling the police on these ammos. I would have done the exact same thing. Sorry gun freaks, not in my neighborhood.

  14. larry kurtz 2015-12-11 14:44

leslie: hickey is the one with brains; sibby is the one keeping his in a jar by the door.

  15. Steve Hickey 2015-12-11 14:49

I didn’t miss the Confederate flag. To me it says redneck not Republican. I doubt some rednecks have any political affiliation or clue. Even so, review the origin of that term and you’ll find it was the poor Democrat farmers in the South whom it originally described. As long as we are making judgments based on our subjective perceptions of the pictures what political party do you suppose the burning police car represents? Pretty sure those city rioters aren’t Republicans. Isn’t this speculation stupid? Every time something happens we start pointing fingers.

He probably was an MMA fan and was addicted to violent video games. ;-)

  16. Jenny 2015-12-11 14:50

Take a good look gun owners and explain why he was allowed to have that many guns. Just by the look in his crazy eyes, you can tell he most likely has some sort of mental illness.

  17. Roger Cornelius 2015-12-11 14:57

    leslie,
It is likely that Hickey and Sibson would be equally insulted by our sometimes confusing them.

  18. 96Tears 2015-12-11 15:08

Check out the Facebook pages for both of them. Deep in the right wing gun culture, sex and alcohol. He seems to be a fan of Chuck Brennan’s dump. Thank God the police intercepted them, although I don’t know if they were close to the Mickey and Mallory (Natural Born Killers) stage yet.

Speaking of which, you’ll notice on a map of Sioux Falls that they lived (4900 block of East 54th Street) one block from the Gloria Dei Lutheran Pre-School on the southeast edge of town. Talk about a soft target.

  19. JeniW 2015-12-11 15:10

At least he is wearing ear protectors so he won’t become hard of hearing.

Badlands Pawn just lost one of their best customers!

  21. mhs 2015-12-11 15:12

The Southern Segregationist “Dixiecrats” deserted the Democratic party for the GOP after LBJ. Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms: both former Democrats. They’ve been a pox on both parties since about 1840, though both parties have pandered for the “Solid South” bloc in election after election through the years. Maybe we’d a been better off if Lincoln had thrown in the towel after Fredricksburg.

  22. scott 2015-12-11 15:13

The school district just sent out an email stating the woman was an educational aide at Laura Wilder School. It also stated she wasn’t at work today. I wonder if it was because she was arrested before work started maybe?

  23. Jenny 2015-12-11 15:16

The ammo’s uncle blames Obama, according to that Sioux Falls paper. (Why are we not surprised).

  24. Steve Hickey 2015-12-11 15:19

So his name is Darren Kyle Zafft. What is the deal with his alias – Darren Stepp? I don’t get it.

  25. Rorschach 2015-12-11 15:30

Mr. Zafft is very proud of himself in his perp walk picture in the Argus.

  26. mike from iowa 2015-12-11 15:31

According to Facebook he worked at x-treme bailbonds which is run? by a Lesa Zafft. For what it is worth.

  27. mike from iowa 2015-12-11 15:51

Also worked at McT Transportation in 2013.(Darren Stepp) There is a Kyle Zafft on Google who looks quite similar to this guy and likes chubby women,I guess.

  28. Steve Sibson 2015-12-11 16:19

“Sibson turns a blind eye to what this guy represents”

False accusation. Nice how you intellectually lazy libs like to paint with a broad brush.

  29. Steve Sibson 2015-12-11 16:24

“why he was allowed to have that many guns. Just by the look in his crazy eyes”

So Jenny is now the authority on you can and who can’t have a gun by just looking into their eyes?

  30. larry kurtz 2015-12-11 16:29

Jenny may not be able to, Sibby but i can.

  31. mike from iowa 2015-12-11 16:31

Maybe this ammosexual covets guns and publicity. Where have I heard the word covets before? Could it be……..Satan?

  36. larry kurtz 2015-12-11 17:28

  37. Lynn 2015-12-11 17:29

So now your saying the CIA is behind, funding, training and supporting domestic terrorists? These two in Sioux Falls?

  38. Lynn 2015-12-11 17:30

There are pockets of gun-huggers, hoarding weapons and munitions, imbedded throughout Colorado Springs and South Dakota, just waiting for the likes of Steve Hickey to direct them to their next abortion clinic murder episode. You’re not a baby until you’re born and you’re not a corpse until you die.

Radicalized red neck. Practically a home-grown terrorist.

  62. Laura Wilder Mom 2015-12-11 23:19

She is employed by the Sioux Falls school district as an education assistant in my child’s elementary school. While they are saying they have no reason to believe the students were ever in danger, has anyone realized the ramifications of what could have happened…what has been happening far too often in schools? Wake up Sioux Falls school district. You have an employee who is being charged with multiple counts of possessing controlled weapons and destructive devices who has access to a school full of children. And this evening’s 10 pm local news reported that no decision has been made regarding her employment with the school district. Unacceptable. I want to know that when I send my child back to that school, Jennifer Cash no longer has access to the building, ever.

  63. Roger Cornelius 2015-12-12 00:17

Exactly John, who radicalized this guy and why?

That Sioux Falls paper is reporting that the couple had about 10,000 rounds of ammunition and $20,000 in cash. Do bail bondsmen usually have that kind of money laying around? I wonder if Pat Powers knows.

  64. Lanny V Stricherz 2015-12-12 06:34

He has a million dollar cash only bond, while her’s is only 5k cash only. Is that because she works at a school?

  65. Lynn 2015-12-12 06:47

    Curt,

The absurdity of some of the comments posted on this blog deserve a “lol” because I am laughing wondering if we were in person that person could say this with a straight face and really believe what they are posting.

  66. larry kurtz 2015-12-12 07:05

    Curt, white people scare me.

  67. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-12 07:07

Lanny, I don’t think she’d get a lower bond just because of her job. A lower bond usually reflects the judge’s assessment that an arrestee poses less risk.

  68. Lanny V Stricherz 2015-12-12 07:22

Could be the case Cory, but a million vs 5,000. Did the judge look into their eyes? The Sioux Falls School district is not about protecting our children. When I went last year to the school board meeting to complain about the militarization of our youth by the recruiters and Jr ROTC, I also complained about the fact that I had read in the paper that Lincoln High was putting in a new weight room for the athletes and that in doing so they were converting the old smaller weight room to a target practice room. I asked what could possibly be the thinking. Ms Holman said that they weren’t real guns with real bullets. What am I missing? If they are using fake guns, what is to stop someone from sneaking a real gun that looks like the fake gun into the school?

  69. Steve Hickey 2015-12-12 07:39

Had a terse debate with my very Democrat cousin about whether our problems these days are the result of Muslim men, White men or Black men. It kind of came down to men who misunderstand who they ought to be for others. (Go Fiorina! I got so turned off by Bill Clinton’s libedo I vowed the next election cycle to vote a strict no-penis platform.) When I look at the violence in society, how we are raising boys and men seems to me a greater contributing factor than any race or ideology.

But then my theory weakens as we have this rise of female ISIS recruits, the San Bernardino bride, and this lady in Sioux Falls. ((Actually, I suspect San Bernardino was committed by three tall white men. But there I go again with the c-theories. Sorry the narratives aren’t believable to me.)) And maybe this lady in Sioux Falls was only the girlfriend.

  70. Lynn 2015-12-12 07:50

    Steve,

There are some people that are just plain consumed with anger at the world, rage and paranoia. I briefly knew two crackpots and other than them being in a local militia they had no affiliation with any terrorist or hate group. That militia was for self defense. They were stocked with weapons & explosives I have no idea how they were legally able to obtain them and were ready to go out in a blaze of fire.

  71. larry kurtz 2015-12-12 07:59

More and more citizens are obtaining concealed carry permits and taking the recommended training so they can protect themselves and their families from any outside threat. We suggest looking into the concealed carry classes being offered from time to time at Southern Hills Tactical just south of Custer. The next enhanced conceal carry permit class is Sunday, Dec. 13, from noon to 7 p.m.

    http://www.custercountynews.com/cms/news/story-722974.html

  72. Lynn 2015-12-12 07:59

I have no problem with someone have a few weapons for self protection, hunting, or a hobby but this was obviously way out there.

Immediately after Hurricane Katrina the company I worked for donated all kinds or merchandise for the volunteers to take down to New Orleans to help. Most of these volunteers were first responders and they came back pretty shaken up sharing the stories how society had totally broke down there and the amount of murders & violence that occurred with looting, people desperate to survive and willing to kill or whatever. Those volunteers had a common theme by saying that the media never covered what really happened down there.

Again I can see having a weapon or a couple for self defense/protection/hunting/gun collecting but 100 and the social media postings these two had? No way!

  73. Lanny V Stricherz 2015-12-12 08:20

Reverend Hickey, I am glad your theory weakened, but to me it should have done it long before it did. Three of our last four Secretaries of State prior to the current one, were women. The only other one, a former combat general was a helluva lot less militaristic than the likes of Allbright, (“the half million dead children is a small price to pay and it’s worth it”) Condoleezza Rice (do we want the next smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud) and Hillary Clinton, who encouraged the President to get the UN to enforce a no fly zone in Libya and to destroy the existing government there which threw the country into the chaos that now permeates the entire middle east. Secretary of State used to be a job that looked at ways to keep the planet from imploding, but these three women followed the lead of Henry Kissinger and wanted to show that they were as tough as any man.

Cory, So (at least in the judges eyes) protection of police is more important than protecting our children?

  74. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-12 08:23

Yeah, Daniel, I’m sure the grenade launchers weren’t live, either:

But Lesa Zafft says her son, and his girlfriend, aren’t to be feared.

“Everything in there was legal,” she said. “From the black powder guns to the grenade launchers all the scary stuff that people think” [Anndrea Anderson, “‘He’s Not Dangerous;’ Mother Speaks out After Explosives Found,” KDLT News, 2015.12.11]

Curious, Pastor Hickey: am I fearful or prudent if I suggest we should be concerned about our safety in a neighborhood where an ex-prisoner has grenades and launchers?

  75. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-12 08:29

Lanny, McGowan also says Zafft appears to be much more responsible for the weapons cache than Cash. I don’t think we need to put the schools on red alert over this situation.

In news vaguely related to school concerns, I heard gunshots as I waited for my daughter outside of her elementary school yesterday just before the bell. Some veterans were firing a 21-gun salute at a funeral at the cemetery right next to the school. Right after the bell, two girls came running across the playground, laughing and shouting, “They’re shooting at us! They’re shooting at us!”

  76. Porter Lansing 2015-12-12 08:32

First meme on the guy’s sight is a woman dressed in a Confederate flag gown. It reads, “When it’s prom night but you’ve got a 6:00 KKK meeting.” Quite ironic that the Republican right chastises our President continually because he won’t use the term “muslim terrorist”. Well, there’s a term for this boy and those like him who are very common in SoDak. “White Supremacist”. The state is in the top five most hateful of Obama and this is only a manifestation of that lifestyle.
Also quite telling, that the second post on this thread was an extreme right winger who couldn’t try to distance his party’s beliefs from this white supremacist fast enough. Same as he immediately (without research) believed the altered video about Planned Parenthood.
Stepp spent a year in prison. That’s where white supremacist’s are groomed.

  77. barry freed 2015-12-12 08:33

    Leslie,
Don’t presume you can speak for me. It is rude and you have proven that you can’t think critically, and thus, you will never approach my level of thought or knowledge. Don’t mean to sound conceited, but it is you trying to gain credibility by invoking my name.

But for sure, let’s all, ONCE AGAIN, form our predictable opinions based on first reports by someone who may or may not know what they are talking about.

  78. Steve Hickey 2015-12-12 10:52

Cory – I’d think it’s prudence more than fear. He was shooting through walls into a neighbours bed and was in possession of illegal weapons and explosives. Not good. Not legal.

I’m not sure where the line is with private possession of explosives and I’m not an expert. We can’t buy a decent firecracker on the fourth of July these days though I sure wish we could. A friend on the Rez once gave me some homemade quarter sticks of dynamite and we had a blast blowing up stumps on my acreage that summer. As a chaplain years back in a Chicago hospital I helped hold down a guy in the ER who “degloved” his hand goofing around with a homemade bomb/explosive in his garage. It’s quite a sight to see hand bones without the skin/meat. There was no fixing what was left of his fingers.

  79. W R Old Guy 2015-12-12 12:44

The explosive was Tannerite according to the mother. It is commonly used for exploding targets and is an unregulated binary explosive. You should be able to buy it at any gun shop. The problem is that Tannerite comes in a “kit” that requires the mixing of two or more ingredients to become explosive. There are federal laws on the storage and use depending upon the amount once it is mixed. It also requires a permit. Don’t forget that ammonium nitrate and fuel oil mix creates an explosive called ANFO. Remember the Oklahoma City bombing? It was ANFO.

Black powder (used in the cap and ball and muzzle loaders) is considered an explosive and also has federal requirements on storage depending upon the amount on hand.

It will be interesting to see the specifics of what was found. Apparently there were small empty CO2 cartridges that were used to make the “grenades”. Pack them with an explosive and light the fuse. I would like to know more on that .

  80. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-12 14:23

Steve, various states ban fireworks, so I assume the Second Amendment does not apply to explosives. Tannerite may be unregulated, but how do licenses for other explosives work? Are there limits on how much gun powder, dynamite, etc., one can buy?

  81. Steve Hickey 2015-12-12 14:56

I do not know. Sounds like Federal ATF charges are coming too.

  82. moses 2015-12-12 15:13

Porter will know, and maybe Lanny

  83. mike from iowa 2015-12-12 16:00

Tannerite is banned on forest service lands in the Rocky Mountains including SoDak and Nebraska-danger of forest fires. It can be legally purchased and moved around as long as it is not mixed up to explosive state. Then federal regs kick in.

  84. Porter Lansing 2015-12-12 18:16

If the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is …..
Are you just a really, really good guy if you have a hundred?

  85. Daniel Buresh 2015-12-12 19:46

I’m still curious if what they are calling grenades are merely smaller homemade pipe bombs or re-activated historical or reproduction items. That, along with dynamite or other high explosives require some crazy licensing. I’m sure there are some old time ranchers who may have a stick or two around from the pre-ban days. Either way, that is going to send him/her away for a long time.

Now, the grenade launchers may be a bit of an overstretch as well. You can purchase 37mm or the like for launching flare rounds or paint rounds. Some larger city police departments probably have a version for riot control. Again, I don’t think you can even get such a license to own explosive rounds.

Seems to me like this is a perfect example of where the media is making it sound as if these people are getting military grade items, while they may just be making their own homemade versions. What they were doing was completely wrong, but i just can’t help but read it like some moron wrote it to get people riled up with buzzwords. Seems a bit dishonest but fear sells.

As far as powder, shot and the like is concerned, many re-loaders have these items and it gets illegal if you start to misuse them. If you take decommissioned or de-milled weapons, rebuild them, and create your own explosive rounds, you have committed a lot of felonies. This isn’t your average gun owner, and I know a few with more than a 100 weapons. The number isn’t what concerns me at all, it’s the engineering they are doing to legal weapons and the creation of their own.

  86. Daniel Buresh 2015-12-12 19:51

As compared to fireworks….if left alone they are legal. If you wrap 100 sparklers together and blow yourself up, you committed a crime. If you pull a bunch a part and empty them into a container, you committed a crime. If you call those homemade items grenades, you are fear mongering.

  87. Daniel Buresh 2015-12-12 19:54

    This is tannerite: https://youtu.be/RVSecWR5YgY?t=132

Perfectly legal to buy over the counter. It takes a high velocity round to cause it to explode so it is extremely stable.

Here is a fairly local story about a guy who found himself on the wrong end of Homeland security when he set off the alarms at a nuclear facility with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_HRyAG2xqU

It is obvious that we don’t know the full story on this guy and gal, there is a reason that the judge set a million dollar bond on this guy.
That alone tells me this guy was some kind of a threat to law enforcement and the public.

  89. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-12 20:32

We can speculate, Dan, but the police have consistently used the word grenade, and we’ve been given no intel to the contrary. Roger’s right—a million-dollar bond doesn’t just happen arbitrarily. Of course, while we’re speculating, it could be the guy torqued the judge off with his mugging for the camera and wise-guy attitude.

If a person hates police and likes guns probably the worst place in SD to live is sioux falls. About 20 miles north is a moody county… Which is a great place to live if you love guns and hate the police.

If the guy had grenades from the military then by far that is the worst offense of the aforementioned. The charges against the woman will be dropped eventually. If the guns were modified to be fully automatic, thats kinda a bad deal. if the shotguns were modified to make them sawed off, thats kinda a bad deal. All in all, guy sounds more like an idiot than someone that would shoot up a school or business. Be interesting to see how this all plays out.

You want my explosives, you’ll have to pry them from my cold dead fingers-if you can find what’s left after I blow myself up. Nyah nyah.

    Did someone say: Katrina?

Beating up old women, violating their 4th and 2nd Amendment Rights, Cops were kicking in doors and threatening to kill with full auto weapons, taking guns from good citizens while looting themselves and ignoring gangs. To side step Posse Comitatus, the Feds dispatched Blackwater to “legally” violate our Rights.

Second and Fourth Amendments suspended in America:

    I loved Marie’s story:

Full auto weapons are legal if you pay the price for the federal stamp for each of them.

  94. bearcreekbat 2015-12-13 18:55

barry, Nice propaganda video. But it has backfired. The video fails to address mass shootings, which apparently have not happened in Australia since the ban. And the accuracy of your article is questionable:

    http://www.factcheck.org/2009/05/gun-control-in-australia/

But the video does point out that 640,000 guns are no longer available to criminals who might be inclined to use them for mass shootings. Where to get that auto or semi-auto in Australia? – I saw no answers in the video as it seems that there are not as many available mass killing weapons as there once was.

As for fighting crime, how about policies that offer an alternative to crime? If someone has a place to live, food to eat, and medical care, perhaps they would not be as motivated to commit crimes – what do you think?

  95. Les 2015-12-13 20:49

Bear@””As for fighting crime, how about policies that offer an alternative to crime? If someone has a place to live, food to eat, and medical care, perhaps they would not be as motivated to commit crimes – what do you think?””
Similar policy has long been my answer to the issue of abortion. No woman should have to subject herself to abortion so regularly due to limited options before and after birth if she should so choose.

As for your number game with the Aussies, Brits or Canadians on their gun control, it should be just as fair to pull numbers from other countries who’ve decimated certain segments of their populace after gun control measures were instituted.

If mass killings are your only measure, you take away from the value of life that occurs daily on the streets of America and Chicago where we must now disarm the law.

I have no doubt the man belongs behind bars based upon what I’ve seen and read thus far, but I find the humor in people using his facebook page as evidence to support their ideas of his political leanings.

Did anyone notice the picture in the lower right which had the rainbow image overlayed? That is a profile picture meant to show support for gay rights. Generally speaking supporting equal rights for gays is not a conservative ideal.

The image of the woman in the Confederate Flag dress? That is what we call a meme and the text is mocking the dress by insinuating the girl has connections to the KKK. I’ve seen similar images shared in the past and in all cases I can remember it was done to mock and belittle those who support that flag. I cannot say what his motivation was for sharing the image, but it doesn’t offer enough to make assumptions either way. Could be a harmless joke.

He has several other photos showing him holding firearms, which means he is obviously a proponent of the Second Amendment. In most cases this aligns him with the conservatives, but I’m also a gun owner and support the Second Amendment yet I don’t consider myself conservative in the modern definition of the word. (I will conceded I own about 95 fewer guns than this guy and none of mine are illegal nor do I own explosives).

Point being – we don’t know someone until we know someone. Assumptions are fun, but some of the comments here seem to want to put him in the other camp simply to lump him in with others and make this more of a political issue as opposed to an issue with one nutjob. For all we know he was a registered Independent who supports Bernie Sanders (Bernie is pro Second Amendment), yet nobody seems to want to spend more than 45 seconds scanning his facebook page before labeling him.

Granted I haven’t checked his facebook history and perhaps there are older posts which tell more of a story. I’m merely pointing out the oddness of this desire to push undersireables onto the other side of the aisle. Left or right- the guy needs help.

  97. Craig 2015-12-14 08:48

Steve Hickey: “I got so turned off by Bill Clinton’s libedo I vowed the next election cycle to vote a strict no-penis platform.”

As Fiorina doesn’t stand a chance and her poll numbers are on a steep decline, does this vow of yours indicate your action if the general election is Trump vs. Clinton?

Remember Steve – vows are a sacred thing.

  98. bearcreekbat 2015-12-14 12:24

Les, I think you make an excellent point about the benefits of policies that assist women and children. Guttmacher surveyed the reasons women gave for choosing abortion and found that about 73% of women could not afford to have the child.

    https://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/journals/3711005.pdf

The fact that anti-choice conservatives refuse to support policies that would address these financial issues (and many oppose contraception assistance) suggests that they are not pro-life and have no real intent to reduce abortions. Rather, it is about punishing women who are sexually active.

  99. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-14 14:29

Craig, you’re right: Zafft’s Facebook profile doesn’t fit in a near political container. But it’s so filled with masturbation aids (including some S&M-related content) that I feel dirty trying to analyze it all.

  100. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-14 14:30

(Craig, I look forward to Hickey’s application of his no-pee-pee paradigm to the U.S. House race. Now if we can just find a woman to run against Thune….)

  101. Les 2015-12-14 15:03

And rewarding irresponsible males for being sexually active. Snip snip.

  102. Porter Lansing 2015-12-14 15:18

Pee-pee paradigm? Excellent. The fellow does seem to be obsessed with genitalia as in … slapping the boy’s and controlling the girl’s. Must have gone to Catholic school or had a naughty gym teacher.

  103. caheidelberger Post author | 2015-12-14 21:21

Easy now, Porter. Hickey need not be our target here. Besides, if we can get him to vote for a Democratic woman instead of a Republican man, we may make a great leap forward.

Hmm… I wonder… would President Hillary Clinton drive the ammosexuals any crazier than President Barack Obama?

  104. Craig 2015-12-15 08:24

I think a more accurate prediction would be that Mr. Hickey would either abstain from voting entirely, or he would break his vow and support the traditional conservative candidate who is publicly known to be pro-life.

He may dance around the issue from time to time, but Mr. Hickey is like a lot of registered Republicans in SD. He is a one issue voter, and that issue is abortion.

…the high court, which hasn’t heard a major gun case since 2010, nevertheless let stand a lower court’s ruling that the 2013 ban, adopted in Highland Park, Illinois, did not violate the Second Amendment or the court’s recent jurisprudence interpreting it.

    ***

In a 2–1 decision, the majority of the appellate panel found that the semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines banned under a new Maryland law “are in common use by law-abiding citizens” and cannot be banned under the Second Amendment. The ruling sets the wheels in motion for another major gun fight at the high court. It will now likely have to answer this question: In a country where one bloody massacre seems to follow another, and 33,636 people were killed by firearms in 2013, does the court want to be in the business of handing out AR-15s….

…the AR-15, functions almost identically to the military’s fully automatic M16.” He also notes that the Supreme Court specifically called out M16 rifles in Heller when defining “dangerous and unusual.”

Judge King concluded “…by …ordering strict scrutiny here, we are impeding Maryland’s and others’ reasonable efforts to prevent the next Newtown—or Virginia Tech, or Binghamton, or Fort Hood, or Tucson, or Aurora, or Oak Creek, or San Bernardino.”
