Noem Seeking New Press Secretary to Press Same Old Hostility to Honest Journalists

Oh, but journalists pointing out that Kristi Noem lies about South Dakota’s economy is just hostile:

One of the ideals Governor Kristi Noem is looking for in her press secretary is a person who can deal with media “that is often hostile to Governor Noem and her policies,” according to a job description posted on KELOLAND.com employment.

“The ideal applicant will be able to maintain a positive attitude while calmly taking difficult questions from a media that is often hostile to Governor Noem and her policies,” the description said [Rae Yost, “Noem Wants New Hire Able to Deal with ‘Hostile’ Media,” KELO-TV, 2022.12.08].

Wait—so Ian Fury isn’t sticking around to be press secretary? Has he not been maintaining a sufficiently positive attitude and calmly taking difficult questions? And Tony Mangan doesn’t want a promotion from interim to permanent? Tony is plenty positive and calm!

Whoever applies for this job should recognize that the problem is not that the press is hostile to Noem. Simple facts are hostile to Noem’s fractious fictions. The press is committed to reporting simple facts, so Noem is hostile to the press.

Same old strategy by Noem of following Trump by blaming the press. Once the press is destroyed, then there is no one to watch over the politicians and Noem can do anything she wants.

    Bring . . . him/her . . . on.

“Noem is hostile to the press.”

Noem is hostile to anyone who would ask a question of her.

  4. DaveFN 2022-12-09 09:20

    …let alone question her.

Her “hostility” stands evident, doesn’t it? She simply (like trump) wants a liar who can straight-faced tell you like Guilliani -“The Truth is no longer the Truth!”

The South Dakota press is pretty tame, actually. They aren’t that difficult to get along with as long as you don’t try to put out BS on a daily basis. I think Noem’s problem is she doesn’t really have any credible factual basis for many of her positions and statements. Take her position on divesting from China investments. I mean, come on. Noem has promoted pipelines that were using Chinese steel and that were intended to ship oil products to China. She did all she could to kill Sioux Falls workers at Smithfield, a Chinese owned packing plant. I’d call most of what she puts out as nonsense or double-talk. China bashing is just the latest attempt to find an issue she can sell to the Nazi-wing of the Republican Party. Besides, China’s economy right now is probably just a tad better than South Dakota’s. Any good investment program would have shifted most money out, though now might be a good time to buy into that market.

    Presidential material? Meh!

Not even Governor material, unless you’re a Republican in a ruby red state with only three electoral votes.

Note to Kristi: Get a spine or resign. The press in South Dakota tosses softballs. National media, once they know your story as a fraud, will eat you alive.

South Dakota press tame? No, its lame. Tosses softballs? no, it trades gumballs.

I believe that Ian Fury is going back to Hillsdale for a graduate degree in duplicity. He can already out Argus anyone. His favorite song is Both Sides Now. His favorite play is Taming of the Shrew (a fantasy of his). His favorite novel is Dupicity. There are 7 or 8 novels by this name so he’s taking a course on the title in English before his political science masters degree of the same name.

Noem is a product of the Republican Party’s groomer, billionaire Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox “FAIR AND BALANCED” News, which has been a complete joke to all but its dedicated listeners and Trump’s base.

But it is deeper than that. The scorched earth tactics all Republican politicians are indoctrinated into, and train in, on down to the lowly likes of even Dusty Johnson, and Noem in her time in DC, have precedent in litigious North Dakota and Montana fascist US Senators of the 1940s, “Wild” Bill Langer and others who used their power to attack DOJ anti-nazi sedition prosecutions. 25 defense lawyers, 500 motions for dismissal, 90,000,000 procedural motions. An onslaught. Enabled by Right Wing Senators. The Presiding Judge died of a heart attack. November 2944.

This GOP obstructionist/disinformationist REPETITIVE MESSAGING culture threads its way thru them, Joe McCarthy, Barry Goldwater, Newt Gingrich, Presidents Reagan, Bush, Sens. Rounds, Thune , McConnell; self-professed “stable genius” (messaging, right!?) Trump, mentally challenged Kevin McCarthy, and SCOTUS JUSTICES Powell, Scalia, Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Kavanagh, Gorsuch, Coney-Barret.

They believe this sheit, that Rush Limbaugh and Rupert Murdoch peddle.

Now that billionaire wacko Elon Musk bought twitter, opened it back up to trump, Musk tweeted:

    “His pronouns: prosecute/Fauci”

Right wing manipulation/ownership of the media is dangerous.
