Dakotans for Health doesn’t have the Attorney General’s final title and explanation for its proposed (and, we hope, popular) constitutional amendment to codify Roe v. Wade in South Dakota, but it does have official opponents. Last week woman- and democracy-hating Representative Jon Hansen and his good chum in Christofascism Leslee Unruh formally organized the “Life Defense Fund,” a ballot question committee to “oppose[…] measures to legalize abortion in South Dakota.”
Hansen and Unruh are serving as co-chairs of this committee. Their treasurer is semi-retired snowbird consultant and faithful Republican donor Steven Perkins. We won’t get to see how much of Perkins’s money or anyone else’s Hansen and Unruh take in to fight the will of the people—which by all indications in South Dakota is to allow women to control their bodies—until maybe October 24, when ballot question committees must file their pre-primary campaign finance reports. Of course, since Dakotans for Health can’t start collecting signatures on its amendment petition until November 5, a pre-primary report from Life Defense Fund may not show any actual income or expenditures, unless Hansen and Unruh intend to launch pre-emptive strikes of some sort against the petition drive.
Speaking of psychotic….
This article is free to read and both very, very informative and sobering. Author Jennifer Cohn is well worth following (twitter et al).
“On July 1, 2022, inside a packed Georgia arena, four religious leaders stood on stage as they recited a blood chilling Prayer Declaration called the “Watchman Decree”:
Whereas, we have been given legal power from heaven and now exercise our authority, Whereas, we are God’s ambassadors and spokespeople over the earth. Whereas, through the power of God we are the world influencers. Whereas, because of our covenant with God, we are equipped and delegated by him to destroy every attempted advance of the enemy, we make our declarations: … 3. We decree that our judicial system will issue rulings that are biblical and constitutional. 4. We declare that we stand against wokeness, the occult, and every evil attempt against our nation. 5. We declare that we now take back our God-given freedoms, according to our Constitution. 6. We decree that we take back and permanently control positions of influence and leadership in each of the “Seven Mountains.”

That’s creepy stuff, Joe. We have to resist theocrats like Jon Hansen, Leslee Unruh, and Monae Johnson. We have to keep this country free for all Americans, not just white fundagelicals.
It is interesting how, in the book of Genesis, it is clear that God has given both man and woman free will. However, people in several churches, and state governments, including people like, six Supreme Court justices, Jon Hansen and Kristi Noem think they are more intelligence than God. Talk about the epitome of blasphemy! Religious people are free to believe a woman will burn in Hell for having abortion, but, according to the Christian and Jewish God, a woman is free to make the choice to do so or not. (Actually, the woman is much more holy for choosing NOT to about a baby, but when the laws of man are made to take away that choice, they also take away that chance of holiness, making it harder for people to get into Heaven.) As this comment seems to fit two different posts, I am going to put it under both. So to careful DFP readers, I apologize for repeating myself!
