Noem Takes Money from Scumbags, Turns Immediately to Insult Democrats

Joe Sneve scours Kristi Noem’s 500-plus page campaign finance report and finds that her massive roster of out-of-state donors includes a killer from Louisiana and a racist jerk from Florida (what, just one? Ha!).

But Noem gets her money’s worth of spin from her out-of-state campaign manager Joe Desilets, who manages turn his boss’s appeal to criminals and racists and her refusal to return this stinky money into an attack on Democrats:

“We don’t want to get into that and encourage the Democrats to run a background check on every single one of our donors and essentially send us a list demanding that we give this money back,” he said. “I wish the Democrats raised enough money to where we could do the same thing back to them, but they don’t” [Joe Sneve, “Gov. Kristi Noem’s Out-of-State Campaign Donors Include a Right-Wing Extremist and a Convicted Killer,” Sioux Falls Argus Leader, 2022.02.07].

I feel like the little brother sitting at the table when big sister burps and then shouts, “Mom! Jimmy is a pig!”

I won’t argue that Noem has to give those several thousand dollars back, any more than I would argue that Hy-Vee should do character background checks at the door and turn away any mean people who want to buy groceries. All money is dirty in some way or another. If some reprehensible character donates to this blog or to one of my political campaigns, I could argue that I can use that money to do some good in the world, to undo the evil that donor has done. Sending that money back to the scumbag would just empower the scumbag to do scummier things.

But Team Noem isn’t condemning her scumbag donors or promising to do any better. Rather than acknowledging any moral obligation to denounce and combat evil, the amoral Team Noem turns to its usual cheap-shot political games.

Trump endorsing will probably help Noem’s campaign since there are a lot of Trump supporters in SD, unfortunately. (He also endorsed Ravnsborg while down in TX the other day…)

Does sound like there is some tension between Noem and other SD Republicans though, so maybe the No Noem group has a strategy to deal with the Trump endorsement, which everyone saw coming.

Her smartass response is so Mean Snow Queen! LOL!

You know, Kristi, when you sleep with dogs you get fleas. Sleep with swine, you get dirty. Sleep with felons, goons and fascists, you find yourself in dangerous and stupid company. Say what you want about the state Democrat Party, you’ve defined yourself as dirty, flea-bitten and desperate for anybody’s cash.

Considering you’ve allowed a severely weakened and inept state attorney general to put you in the cross hairs of the state ethics panel for your stupidity, you appear to resemble the company you keep. Enjoy your second term as governor partying on the necks of those little people — you know, those South Dakota taxpayers. It will be your last in elected office.

In this context the translation of the comment,

“I wish the Democrats raised enough money to where we could do the same thing back to them, but they don’t”

    seems to be,

“I wish the Democrats’ values and policies appealed to racists and criminals enough to where we could do the same thing back to them, but they don’t.”

An interesting and very revealing wish.

Point well taken, bbear. I’m choosing words that neanderthals like Kristi and her errand boy Joe D. understand so that they don’t miss the message. They are sleazy to the core.

There’s a term for someone who will take payment from anyone who’ll give it to him/her… I wish I could think of what it is…

Eve, I think the punchline goes something like,”… well, now we know what you are, the question is just how much.”

You know, she wasn’t a Snow Queen in Minnesota.
She was queen over how many population within the pageant’s scope?
    A handful or so thousand?
And she beat out how many females her age among that tiny population?
Point is; she wasn’t really pretty.
She just won in a very small pond containing very few eligible fish.

I’m sure the the good girl will turn bad money into sunshine.
