Butina Advocated Russian Occupation of Crimea; Channel 4 Summarizes Butina’s Adventures in South Dakota

Before Maria Butina invaded the NRA, the Republican Party, and Paul Erickson‘s apartment, the now-imprisoned Russian spy spoke to a crowd of patriotic Muscovites in 2014 supporting Vladimir Putin’s invasion and occupation of the Ukrainian territory of Crimea and Donbas:

And after that video, YouTube does me the favor of suggesting this December 2018 video from the UK’s Channel 4 News, in which Inigo Gilmore visits the Brown County Fair and South Dakota’s best blogger to explain what a Russian spy was hunting for in South Dakota:

Note also neighbor and former legislator Shirley Halleen‘s observations to Gilmore that the Red Fox didn’t seem nearly as enamored with Erickson as he was with her. Poor woman—maybe when Butina gets out of federal prison in Tallahassee and deported back to Mother Russia, she can finally dump all these papki and find the muzhik of her dreams, a nice patriotic Russian fellow who would never betray his country for an alluring redhead.

Couple of interesting videos, to be sure. Having never seen Lee Shoenbeck before, I thought he was Dusty Johnson in about 50 years.

Red Sparrow and Erickson no longer sing
Since Maria got her Butina sling.

Cory for the Pulitzer in investigative journalism and having fun doing it.

Great post Cory, very good reporting. Cracked me up to see Dirty Johnson acting the tool fool. Maybe Butina wasn’t happy with hapless Paul because of Dirty’s hair and it’s color. My, they could have produced a litter of flaming red rooskies.

    Well done Mr. Heidelberger.

  4. Mr Sol 2019-08-25 19:29

Mr H – thanks for the summary of this interesting saga. I am wondering though if you find any credibility with the recent Patrick Byrne story?

  5. chris 2019-08-26 07:25

Well done, Channel 4. God bless Sherwin Linton, and God bless the United States of America.

Mr. Sol, has Butina issued any statement confirming Mr. Byrne’s claims?

  7. John Dale 2019-08-26 15:13

Are you ever going to let the Mueller thing go? Keep after it, I guess ..

This is a huge steaming pile of innuendo about Trump and his presidency.

So, a Russian operative got busted trying to work through one of our major parties.

“Wouldn’t it be funny if we could find a link that doesn’t exist between Trump and Russia.”

    Now, THAT is funny.

    :D

Keep Shadow boxing this issue. It just makes Trump stronger heading into 2020.

    Fantastic!

Drumopf Dale, Breitbart and Infohors choir is calling their choir orchestrator to come home. Go recruit your little flunky monkeys from the wingnut choir.

  9. John Dale 2019-08-26 15:28

    psyche mikey – “wingnut choir”

Your writing seems to have devolved into some kind of schoolyard name calling diatribe hissy fit.

Did a mentally challenged 9 year old steal your laptop?

If only Mueller hadn’t wasted 40 million bucks investigating ghosts, you could apply for a grant .. or something. Maybe get a fingerprint reader or GIS locator and get your laptop back.

  10. bearcreekbat 2019-08-26 16:03

John Dale’s current comments sound as if they come from either a paid Trump PR employee or a Russian pro-Trump source. Either way, the content of the comments indicates they should be taken only with a grain of salt.

Anybody following the Butina/Erickson story can tell you that Trump was never a focus of this story.
The only Trump reference I recall was when Butina asked Trump a question at a gun press conference in Las Vegas.
Congress is following up on the Mueller report findings and hopefully will have enough information to file articles of impeachment by the end of the year.
Mueller did not waste any government money, in fact he recovered millions of dollars from Manafort.

  12. Roger Cornelius 2019-08-26 17:11

    Mr. Sol
The interview I watched between Chris Cuomo and Patrick Byrne on CNN last week could not support any of Byrne’s claims. The FBI and DOJ denied involvement in this wild story.

  13. John Dale 2019-08-26 17:20

bearcreekbat – I think it’s funny that I’m the focus of so many posts.

Roger Cornelius – impeachment? What for? Being a constitutional advocate? I don’t like what happened at Standing Rock, but nobody’s perfect. Obama’s administration oversaw massive extraction and superfund site construction.

    Everybody’s all Russia’d out.

Hope for impeachment is not a viable election strategy.

The bureaucracy got too corrupt, and Trump is thumping them. They are fighting back, but not winning despite using every underhanded tactic possible.

Face it .. the Christians won again.

It’s a simple and repetitive story.

  14. Roger Cornelius 2019-08-26 17:31

John Dale. you assume a lot and think it is fact, it is not.

It doesn’t matter if you think impeachment is a good election strategy or not, the House is proceeding with their findings.
Trump is not a Constitutional advocate, in fact he stomps on the Constitution at every opportunity.
Don’t throw your pro Trump talking points at me, it won’t work.

Trump is sooooo Putin’s puppet at the G-7! It was hilarious and embarrassing to watch the pompous jerk storm around in vain to appear that he had any kind of handle on world affairs. It was clear he has no respect among our nation’s traditional allies. They laugh at him to his face.

No wonder Republicans are bailing out of Congress before the second, consecutive anti-Trumpublican wave hits.

Thanks to useful idiots like Paul Erickson, the NRA, Bill Barr, Mitch McConnell and the dumb dumbs we call our state’s congressional delegation, Trump can find fools who’ll argue until cows come home that there is some logical plausibility to his presidency and his insanity. But in the end, they are all Putin’s puppets. Useful idiots. Suckers for Kim Jong Un. Enemies to the rule of law. Traitors to the United States of America. It’s interesting that Butina chose South Dakota as the soft underbelly of Dumb America. She obviously knew which end of the horse she needed to work on first.

On a bright note, iowa’s racist rapscallion Cantaloupe Calves King’s campaign is said to be broke and aids and advisers are jumping ship.

OMG! My next stop after reviewing the brilliant Dakota Free Press blog was the CNN website where there is this story, to illustrate my point about the pinheads in the White House and across the nation who pander for Trump. Headline: Fact check: Trump falsely claims Melania Trump has ‘gotten to know Kim Jong Un’

    Now the story.

Washington (CNN)-President Donald Trump gave a joint news conference Monday with French President Emmanuel Macron before his departure from the G7 summit in France. He then stuck around to take additional questions by himself.

Trump made at least eight false claims, seven of which he had made before. (The new one was an odd claim about Melania Trump and Kim Jong Un.) And he made at least five claims that we’ll call misleading, questionable or lacking in context.

    False claims

Melania Trump and Kim Jong Un

“The first lady has gotten to know Kim Jong Un, and I think she would agree with me he is a man with a country that has tremendous potential,” Trump said.

Facts First: Melania Trump was not present for any of Trump’s three meetings with Kim Jong Un, and there is no evidence she has ever spoken to Kim.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement later Monday: “President Trump confides in his wife on many issues including the detailed elements of his strong relationship with Chairman Kim — and while the First Lady hasn’t met him, the President feels like she’s gotten to know him too.”
    ——————————————–

You’ve got to be six flavors of stupid and eight shades of crazy to try to defend that kind of lying which Trump does day after day after day, before and since taking the oath of office as president. What’s so funny about these Trump trolls is they use “fake news” as the blanket charge for all of Trump’s gaffes and juvenile behavior even though we can watch it on TV, see it all online and read it in credible newspapers and periodicals.

Need more material? Wait a few hours for the next pack of Trump lies and cowardly behavior. No need to make it up.

  18. John Dale 2019-08-26 18:27

Porter Lansing – “the House is proceeding with their findings”

Sorry to burst your fantasy impeachment bubble, but the impeachment talk started before he took office.

    It’s moronic and transparent.

It’s like the people the neo-libs are attacking allow the impeachment talk to continue because it appeases a silly fantasy. Talk about insane. I mean, geez. It’s not like he let some broad smoke his wank in the oval office or something.

  19. John Dale 2019-08-26 18:31

96Tears – what is the actual performance metric of Trump’s success?

    Unemployment?

    Stock market?

    Body of environmental regulation?

    Treasury cash flow?

    Electoral votes?

I understand people don’t like the guy (it’s a strange derangement that is fueled by the Chinese controlled media and other shadowy forces), but dang .. for a centrist like me, the neo-left melt-down appears completely insane.

  20. John Dale 2019-08-26 18:34

psyche mikey – “Cantaloupe Calves King’s campaign”

I don’t even now who you are anymore.

Mortar Portar – you really want Mike Pence to be President? I don’t even want Mike Pence to be President.

  21. mike from iowa 2019-08-26 18:58

Wisconsin dingbat wingnut Sean Duffy is jumping ship in September, making him the i millionth wingnut to abandon DC this week alone.

As I have stated before, Pence is what central casting sends out when a sour visaged, blank staring KGB agent is required for a James bond villain.

    Paging Porter Lansing!!

A lot of people watch RT for “news” about 5G, and Butina.

  24. Dana P 2019-08-27 09:01

Ms Butina was very busy when she was in America. Infiltrating gun nuttery people/organizations, but also appearances at the National Prayer Breakfast. Hob Nobbing with the very powerful.

  25. John Dale 2019-08-27 12:05

As Elon Musk said, many people got hurt before we started crafting regulations for seat belts. We are nearly there:

    https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2019/03/25/ripon-cell-tower-school-removal-cancer/

SD breast cancer rates skyrocketed when Thune started rolling out the 5G pilot program.

Two of our city council members have contracted cancer – both male. The blood brain barrier is not as robust in males, and the combination of 5G-type installations and fluoride in the water would be my best guesses as to the proximate causes.

I am sure the Democratic party in South Dakota could get on board with the protection of children from both of these very toxic things (5G and Fluoride).

  26. o 2019-08-27 12:41

SD breast cancer rates skyrocketed when EPA regulations were rolled back and gas and oil were given more access for exploitation (if we want to really look at carcinogens). They also went up when taxes were cut on the 1% (if we want to just toss around silly ad hoc ergo proctor hoc fallacies).

John, for your own protection, I suggest you keep your tinfoil hat safely fixed at all times to keep your brain safe.

  27. Porter Lansing 2019-08-27 13:44

    Hi, Roger. Pretty telling, huh?

  28. Roger Cornelius 2019-08-27 15:50

    Hi Porter, pretty telling indeed.
That shows a major problem with confusion or perhaps delusion.

  29. Roger Cornelius 2019-08-27 15:51

And Porter, this post is about Maria Butina and not 5G.

  30. mike from iowa 2019-08-27 15:54

Fracking companies have been suing Colorado cities to prevent the elected city reps from legislating where fracking can occur, even next to schools.

Simple to do, just threaten to bankrupt community with continuous litigation until they roll over and endanger children and elderly people’s lives and town water resources.

  31. John Dale 2019-08-27 18:43

chris – “Trump is pro 5g”

    I know.

    But his base is not.

Trump listens to his base, but we will see.

I am anti-5G (and all wireless beyond 2G .. even TV and radio spectrum).

The military publishes its ability to use wireless technology for mind control.

My aunt was running in circles with the Yates family back in the early 80’s. She started wearing a tinfoil hat and eventually shot herself, leaving a note that said she wanted to get the demons out of her heart.

The sad legacy of wireless, social engineering, and mind control.
