Rounds Gets the 2016 Punchline: The One-Liner Presidency

Asked by The Hill to describe Donald Trump’s midterm pep talk to Senate Republicans yesterday, South Dakota’s junior Senator M. Michael Rounds effectively summarized Trump’s entire executive being:

Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) said the president dropped various “one-liners” to keep his audience engaged.

“He had some great one-liners,” Rounds said. “It was a whole series of them” [Alexander Bolton, “Trump Gives GOP Midterm Pep Talk,” The Hill, 2018.05.15].

We have declined from Ronald Reagan to Rodney Dangerfield… and Rodney Dangerfield was at least funny.

Of course, Rounds thought Trump’s one-liners were so important that he didn’t make time to press Trump on real issues like the White House attack on Rounds’s ailing colleague Senator John McCain:

It’s a very serious issue for a lot of us. You talk about duty, honor and country, you think of John McCain. Today, honesty is the best policy. We ran out of time. We were talking about other issues. The President, in this particular case, he could have been a member of the United States Senate. He was on a roll today. He had a number of issues he wanted to talk about. He touched on a number of very important issues [Sen. Mike Rounds, in Aileen Graef, “Mike Rounds: Senate GOP ‘Ran out of Time’ to Confront Trump on Aide’s McCain Remark,” CNN, 2018.05.15].

Sure, Senator Mike. Never mind morality or decency or Presidential decorum. Keep cheering the White House stand-up routine.

    Trump gets no respect.

They ran out of time to talk about duty, honor and country, because they couldn’t interrupt Dear Leaders’ one-liners. No time for honesty when the Fake President is “on a roll.” Disgusting.

    Drumpf deserves no respect.

Here’s a good one “Tricked by the Devil”, that should make Little Rounds giggle like a schoolgirl. Here is what Rounds/Thune/NOem have unleashed on America, the Anti-Christ.

“I feel like I’ve been tricked by the devil,” said Devine, owner of Harrodsburg-based Devine Creations Landscaping. “I feel so stupid.”

Devine says it has been years since he could find enough dependable, drug-free American workers for his $12-an-hour jobs mowing and tending landscapes for cemeteries, shopping centers and apartment complexes across Central Kentucky.”

The Red Wave is laughing their arse’s off at the American worker. They think they are cute.

Politics by one liners disrespects the intelligence of the populace.

Remember when wingnuts couldn’t write legislation fast enough to protect poultry industry from lawsuits because videos showed rats and mice and insects all over the Cafos?

North Carolina egg factory had videos of rats and mice and insects in hen cages for months and did nothing about it. What does South Dakota’s wholly owned subsidiaries of large Cafos have to say about this?

Yep, Rounds really has to appreciate the great humor he and his party have put upon us. Smiling Mike, the Joker revisited. The Red Wave of Jackley, with the middle finger is what they give us. Mickelson will be blathering about the CAFO’s he wants to pollute the waterways, with Team Rounds grinning his approval while holding hands with Pruitt while he dismantles the EPA, all while pocketing corrupted money. The most Anti-American political party that has ever existed. Beats the German American Bund by a bunch.

While Rounds squealed with delight, this man who claims his devotion to veterans and our issues, declined to step up for the dying, wounded, Prisoner of War, Senator John McCain. Rounds is about as trustworthy as a rattlesnake and that is giving rattlesnakes a lot of credit. Neither did Cheshire Cat Thune speak up, a guy whose daddy flew into the same kind of harm’s way as McCain did but only in a different war.

So what is the takeaway on all of this? Well, this that was just released today, the absolute proof that Russia elected trump and Pence. Both should be exiled like the French did to Napoleon.

“The two leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee announced that Putin ordered Russia to interfere in the 2016 election to help Trump, breaking away from Rep. Devin Nunes’ House Intel propaganda report completely.

Republican and Democratic leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday endorsed the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 presidential election to help President Donald Trump and hurt Hillary Clinton.

Republican Trump surrogates have tried their damnedest by smearing the entire intelligence community to defend Trump at any cost.”

I am thinking that three of those trump surrogates are elected republicans from South Dakota, while the ones waiting in the wings, are equal opportunity comrades as well.

We had two real heroes from SD: Joe Foss and George McGovern.
Too bad we can’t find any now, eh?

This is pretty much what we expected from Rounds when he went to D.C. He has not disappointed.

Russia just sold China tons and tons of soybeans while the Chinese quit buying from South Dakota farmers.

Wow, I just saw that report as well mfi, this is not good news for South Dakota’s ag community. The treason continues in Washington with the help of the the Red Wave in South Dakota’s elected officials. How many rubles will be transferred to the Red Wave republicans this cycle? I think when NOem/Jackley/Tapioca/Rounds and Thune start wearing those bear hats in place of Miller caps, South Dakota farmers and ranchers might be able to figure it out that they are not on their side. Guess we shall see.

Well I guess we still have Bibi..until he goes to jail.

“ASTANA, Kazakhstan: Russia and China moved on Thursday (May 17) to extend their economic influence in Iran, while Europeans are finding it harder to ignore efforts by Washington to isolate Tehran economically.

In one of the most concrete moves yet against renewed US efforts to choke off Iran economically, a Russian-led trade bloc signed an interim trade deal with Iran and signalled plans to negotiate a free trade zone.”

We here in South Dakota will soon be forced to trade with Montana and Wyoming. North Dakota will probably not be interested and for sure Minnesota and Nebraska will opt out. We may need to look at dismantling Mt. Rushmore to sell for trinkets….Or we could vote Democratic and sweep the trash out of the White House and the Red Wave congress!

Egg factories? Do you think Tallys might get eggs from such a tick-infested factory? That is disturbing, and makes me want to focus more on the bacon and sausages exclusively.
