In addition to the January 20 Women’s March in Sioux Falls, women are marching that day in Rapid City as well:
We know Nancy Rosenbrahn—she was one of the victorious plaintiffs in the same-sex marriage lawsuit that A.G. Jackley expensively and unnecessarily prolonged. And Rev. Lauren Stanley—she’s an Episcopal pastor out in Rosebud who posts some rare but read-worthy earthly observations on her blog.
But who’s that guy in the middle? Ah, Cole Adams, the state Democratic Party’s new West River organizer, going where the gold will be next Saturday: a big crowd of potential voters, volunteers, and candidates who are angry enough to gather outside on a chilly January day. Cole’s message should nicely cap his fellow speakers’: we must act on our hope for a better state and country, and we must act united… but that action must translate into concrete political involvement and voting for change in November. (And, hint: that change means voting for someone other than South Dakota Republicans.)
Right on! Going to try my best to participate that day. (especially since I had a schedule conflict last year)
