Trump to Campaign for Noem/Rhoden in Sioux Falls September 7

Donald Trump is coming to South Dakota next Friday to campaign for Kristi Noem:

Invitation to Trump reception for Noem, distributed by SDGOP 2018.08.30.
Invitation to Trump reception for Noem, distributed by SDGOP 2018.08.30.

This invitation, circulated (according to my source) by South Dakota Republican Party chairman Dan Lederman, does not give the time or exact location of the Sioux Falls event. You have to call or e-mail Noem aide Kylee Kettering at 605-271-9232 or kylee@kristiforgovernor.com for that info. Noem/Trump will charge you $500 to get in the door and $5,000 to get your picture taken with Trump and one of your special friends. (Pictures with Kristi may still be free.)

How much for a selfie with Air Force One before it’s repainted “Trump Gaudy”?

  2. Jivin Knute 2018-08-30 14:24

Oh Vey ! I am sure thankful I am out of the country for awhile. It’s a nice reprieve from all things Trump

  3. Nick Nemec 2018-08-30 14:25

What is Donald’s cut of the photo fee?

Where in the world are people supposed to come up with 5 grand for a photo op with Drumpf?

Nevermind, it shan’t be long and you can download his mugshot for free.

    5K charged as photo free
will keep Drumpf’s presence undesirable free
and those who can’t or refuse to pay
can get free mugshots of Drumpf most any day

Drumpf is going down, down, down!

  7. mike from iowa 2018-08-30 15:21

First line free was supposed to be fee.

  8. Ben Cerwinske 2018-08-30 15:25

When George W. campaigned for Thune, that was a free event. What average person would (could) pay $500 for this?

  9. o 2018-08-30 15:42

    What is Trump’s cut?

  10. Greg 2018-08-30 16:06

Trump should charge Billie Sutton for this event. This should clinch a win for Sutton. Noem should have never let Trump come near here.

  11. OldSarg 2018-08-30 16:18

Hmm. . . In 1988 to parked my Jeep up by the old Taco Bell on Ellsworth Rd. Me, the wife and another buddy sat there drinking and waited for him to drive by. He leaned out the window and waved at my wife. It was pretty cool. Then in 1990 George H Bush made a visit and I knew he was going to fish Horse Thief Lake behind Mt Rushmore and they had stocked the lake with some lunkers. I got my gear and fly rod and tried walking in on the north end and a man in suit stepped out from behind a tree and indicated to me I wasn’t going any further so I never saw Bush Sr. When Bill showed up in 1999 I was in the receiving line with my wife and son and got to shake his hand, Daschle and Jesse Jackson’s hands. He actually had huge hands. I mean like professional boxer size hands. My son was about 6 and when Bill got in front of us my son said “watch out for my dad!” Well. . . Secret Service leaned way in towards me, staring intently and Bill said “Why should I watch out for your dad? And my son said “because he’ll jump on you and tickle you!” There was a major sigh of relief from all of us and my sphincter relaxed. . . Clinton went down to Pine Ridge and started the Empowerment Zone that never resulted in a single job but bought some pow wow lights that I thought were still laying on the ground in Alan. I just looked at google map and still no lights around the pow wow grounds but the poles are now gone. Man $2 million a year for nothing. . . In 2002 I was gone someplace miserable for a year so I didn’t see George W Bush.

I hope Trump comes out this way. It would be an honor to meet the man that saved our Nation.

  12. Jason Hill 2018-08-30 16:19

Wow $5500 to attend and get a pic? I wonder how many are expected to show up?

  13. OldSarg 2018-08-30 16:19

Reagan was the first one. I missed typing it in there.

  14. Jenny 2018-08-30 16:33

Kristi knows it’s all about the money.

    Gross. Just so gross.

  15. Greg 2018-08-30 16:37

I am a republican and wouldn’t give $5 to see this POS. Old Sarg says he saved our nation. Old Sarg,POS.

Trump should make a weekend of it: Sioux Falls Friday, Rapid City Saturday, Aberdeen Sunday.

  17. Donna 2018-08-30 17:25

She thinks this is going to help her chances? hmmmm….. That’s amusing.

  18. Porter Lansing 2018-08-30 17:31

For an extra thousand Trump will do an iPhone Live video of his spastic, disabled guy impersonation of Billie Sutton AND a selfie with Don the Con & Neal Tapio.
    PS … no soybean questions!!

  19. grudznick 2018-08-30 18:00

Mr. Lansing, you are wrong about Mr. Sutton being spastic, and impersonations and re-enactments are the domain of Ms. Hubbel and Mr. Nelson. However, I, too, would prefer Mr. Trump not come to the Great State of South Dakota and am glad that if he must it is way over there on the libbie fringe of the state.

  20. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2018-08-30 18:36

Kristi doesn’t have time to debate Sutton in front of the public, but she has time for closed-door $5,000 photo ops with Donald Trump. Barf.

Know how to protest the Don+Kristi event? Give money to South Dakota Democratic candidates:

    Click that link. Give money.

Send that link to friends. Get them to give money.

Donate, and you don’t get a picture. You get good government. (But if I see you, I’ll stand for a selfie, no extra charge.)

  22. OldSarg 2018-08-30 19:31

I’m watching Trump now in Indiana. The man can play a HUGE crowd! It’s so cool to have a President who is blatantly honest about what and who he is. So much better than the fake politicians of the past many years.

  23. jerry 2018-08-30 19:54

Mexican auto workers loves them some trump like you do Old Soviet. trump is gonna raise their wages from $3.50 an hour to $16.00 an hour! Here is part of the deal

“New rules for auto wages: In addition, the rules stipulate that 40 to 45 percent of the auto content must be made by workers earning more than $16 per hour. The average hourly pay for a U.S. autoworker is more than $22 an hour, according to the Labor Department, but $16 is huge for Mexico, where auto parts workers average less than $3.50 an hour, according to the Center for Automotive Research. This provision is considered a win for Trump because Mexico had been advocating a much smaller percentage.” Washington Post

Bah zing! Nothing for farmers, but auto’s should rise in price here by thousands. So that new F-150 that you thought was gonna cost only $60,000.00 will now be $75,000.00! Comrade NOem and trump thank you very much. Muchas gracias in the Mexican auto assembly plants!

  24. OldSarg 2018-08-30 20:03

Jerry. . . and your problem is what?

  25. OldSarg 2018-08-30 20:09

American have more jobs, Americans make more money, Americans can feed their families, educate their kids and make our market grow and Jerry is freaking out about what? What is it Jerry? What s it about Americans doing better that hurts you so much?

  26. jerry 2018-08-30 20:13

The problem’s are many. Here is one, ag producers. There, it was not even difficult for me to figure that one out as they are the major driver of our state’s economy. You would never know that from the way NOem supports her grifter. Mexico’s auto workers get a huge spiff while American ag producers get diddly squat. Some NOem supported trade deal, what a bad joke, even bigger than 5 grand to see both of these frauds on the same stage.

  27. jerry 2018-08-30 20:17

We Americans are not doing better, therein lies the problem. With this news about auto’s and trucks costing even more while wages here remain stagnant, is kind of a bridge to far.

  28. mike from iowa 2018-08-30 20:17

Americns can feed their families with the help of SNAP cards because stoopid qwingnut pols would rather taxpayers pay for worker’s families to eat han to pass a bill forcing America’s most profitable korporations to pay a living/livable wage.

And here is old Sawdust bragging about the pathological lying Russian plant in the Kremlin Annex(used to be called the White House when the last legally elected Potus lived there) being honest.

OldSugarcoat and his buddy Drumpf totally ignore reality and brag about things neither had anything to do with. And then they both whine and throw tantrums when they get called on their BS!

The most delusional, despicable, disingenuous, deplorables the world has ever known.

  29. jerry 2018-08-30 20:32

Paul Erickson will undoubtedly be there with his two favorite Russkies, Comrades NOem and trump. Probably crying over Butina with Comrade Dusty.

  30. OldSarg 2018-08-30 20:37

jerry get over your ag issue. You are not a farmer, the farmers have been protected and you have no dog in this fight. You are just a hater of success. It isn’t about farmers or anything else for you it is only about your hate. The “average” American family is bringing home over $2,000 more per year they can feed their family with. Cory saw almost an increase of 15% in take home pay from his tax cut. It’s as if you think Cory as a teacher doesn’t deserve to keep more of the money he slaves for. You know nothing about how hard and what challenges a teacher faces every day yet you were willing to turn over the raising of your own kids that you are trying to impoverish. Get a clue. When you spout your ignorance of the financial situation of people like Cory that giver their future to raising your kids it only makes the rest of us know what and idiot you are. Go hang with mike from idiocy.

  31. jerry 2018-08-30 21:01

Old Soviet, correct, I am not an ag producer. I am a landowner though, that leases my land to…of all things an ag producer! So yeah, when I hear that NOem is bringing in a traitor to speak to other well heeled, paying traitors in this state, it does matter to me and should to most of us who know how important ag producers are here. Ag producers have long thought that no one gives a damn about them or their plight. They thought trump might be someone who thought the same, now many of them know the truth, trump is a traitor and a con man who has abused them once again. All they need do is look at what these two have done with their crop prices and then to insult them with a Bribe to keep their failure in office.

Long past time to toss the same old garbage that has been stinkin up the place for far too long. Clean up on all aisles, send in Sutton and Bjorkman to do the job.

  32. T 2018-08-30 21:15

    This will not help her

  33. OldSarg 2018-08-30 21:18

Oh, one of the rich land owners who sharecrops keeping the man down. I should have known. No wonder you hate him. He is threatening your livelihood through independence and low taxation. I can understand your fear. The slave masters of the past years had the same fears. Keeping “the man” down must give you a lot of security”.

  34. jerry 2018-08-30 21:28

No, one landowner who could not make it as an ag producer and could only make business sense out of a lease to someone who has more ground and is a helluva lot younger than me. He is first in line to buy the place when I am to feeble to argue with your sorry arse.

  35. Debbo 2018-08-30 21:40

I am with the majority of Americans who find Cadet Bone Spurs completely repulsive. It’s too bad that for some SDakotans his odoriferous presence is a plus. He’s crazier than a fruit bat, and getting a little worse every day.

Many, many Russpublicans don’t want his putrid presence anywhere near their state because he’s a deadweight anchor on their contest. Ole Kristi though, she likes him just fine.

    Sad. Very sad.

  36. Darin Larson 2018-08-30 21:45

Trump will go down as the worst president in American history in terms of the ethics, ideals, and standards that have made America great. Trump could not present a more stark contrast when measured against the backdrop of the life well-lived of John McCain. Trump recognizes this implicitly in his petty slights against McCain as Trump’s narcissism and insecurities drive him away from paying proper respect to a man that was a true American hero.

Anyone associated with Trump will share in his historical shame. Trump makes Nixon look like a choir boy. It is fitting that Noem is holding this cash-grab in secret behind closed doors at an undisclosed location. Billie Sutton’s campaign must have Noem running a little scared for Noem to feel the need to bring in Trump for a high dollar fundraiser two months before the election.

  37. jerry 2018-08-30 22:00

Comrades trump/NOem/Thune/Rounds all gave veterans a kick in the pills today with the announcement of the government being so broke they cannot pay federal workers, 33% are veterans, a promised pay raise. Ag producers, anytime trump/NOem and the rest of the crooks and liars says something, know that they are full of offal, they ain’t gonna give up anything. That 12 Billion Bribe money, ain’t gonna happen. If he screws veterans, you can count on that happening to you…again.

“Veterans make up almost one-third of the federal workforce, up 5 percentage points since President Obama took office, according to new data released by the Office of Personnel Management on Veterans Day.

That translates into more than 623,000 veterans working in civilian federal posts, 31 percent of the 2 million individuals working in civilian government jobs.

In a statement, OPM Acting Director Beth Cobert said the hirings are not a matter of obligation but instead about getting highly-qualified workers into those positions.

“Veterans bring distinctive training, skills, leadership, and experiences that we need at every agency in the federal government,” she said.
In 2009, Obama signed an executive order mandating increased hiring preferences and efforts for veterans, calling it both “a sacred obligation” for the country and an important model for private sector businesses.”
    https://rebootcamp.militarytimes.com/military-honor/salute-veterans/2016/11/11/veterans-make-up-nearly-one-third-of-federal-workers/

Ag producers and veterans, remember when you had a remarkable president like Obama in the White House? You had honor then and someone who had your back, now you have a knife in it.

  38. Donald Pay 2018-08-30 22:07

Well, yeah, great. Early September is the time South Dakotans celebrate outlaws, like Trump and the Frank James gang. September 7 is the date of the failed bank robbery in Northfield, MN. The outlaws who survived the botched robbery (sort of like Trump’s corruption) skedaddled out of Northfield through wooded Minnesota, making it a few days later to near Sioux Falls. Jesse is said to have jumped the Palisades, but that’s probably fake news, much like “no collusion.”

That bank robbery had much in common with Trump’s governing style. It was a classic clusterf___ pulled off by “all the best people.”

Suggestion: the dress code should call for either striped or orange prison gear.

  39. denson 2018-08-30 23:26

I suspect there will be a lot of signs flashing in protest of the POTUS if he decides to visit South Dakota. Obviously ‘NO PARDON FOR WITCHES’, YES COLLUSION’, ‘HUSH MONEY TO INFLUENCE 2016 ELECTION’ and “OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE’ come to mind.

  40. John Kennedy Claussen, Sr., 2018-08-31 01:07

The GOP must be worried about Noem. At a recent Farm Bureau straw poll at DakotaFest, Noem only received 59% of the vote. I am sorry, but a GOP nominee should be able to do better than 59% with a Farm Bureau straw poll. But then again, Noem has never had a big win like Janklow, Pressler, Thune, or Daugaard have had, who all have races under their belt with 70+% of the vote. Thus, there appears to be a lower ceiling to Noem’s support, that in a Democratic year could make things rather political dicey for our Republican Congresswoman.

Oh, and as far as the Trump event is concerned, well, maybe they plan to hold it at Erickson’s Sioux Falls apartment…. ;-)

  41. jerry 2018-08-31 07:31

Indeed, mfi, the average American male worker gets the same today as he did in 1979. With the new trump deal with Mexico, their wages for the average Mexican worker will skyrocket while American workers just keep plodding along like its 1979.
    https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LES1252881900Q

After the NOem/trump grain disaster, American ag producers will be set back to the 1979 era as well.

  42. OldSarg 2018-08-31 07:38

jerry~ We were happy to pass on the proposed raise for civilian federal employees. Not an issue.

It will be an honor to have Trump in my home state. Are any of you even living in South Dakota?

  43. jerry 2018-08-31 08:01

Good for you oligarch old soviet, glad you could afford to do that. However, there are a few hundred thousand real workers out there that take care of us at veterans hospitals, forest service, law enforcement and many others who vote and take seriously a loss of wages. I am sure the good folks around Hot Springs, Edgemont and Custer feel the same way. NOem is probably gonna have to trudge back and tell them this happened under her watch and to expect more of it if they vote her in. Bjorkman, that seems like an opening for you to mention that Comrade Dusty is NOem’s meme.

As long as you’re cashy, why don’t you drop 5 grand and go get a picture with the dotard and his moll. Take a bottle of Red Ass wine with you for a photo prop or better yet, three bottles to represent all three of you.

  44. Curt 2018-08-31 08:22

    What about Dusty?

  45. Darin Larson 2018-08-31 08:22

OS, I’ve been a life-long South Dakotan. My family is affected directly by Trump’s trade war and his cancelling of raises for civilian federal employees. This has gone down just as predicted. Trump’s trade war is hurting farmers and ag-related industries in SD and his trillion dollar tax cut for corporations and the wealthy has turned into an excuse for not meeting our obligation to pay federal workers even a minimal annual raise. Sad.

  46. jerry 2018-08-31 08:32

trump/NOem and the rest of the Comrades, including Comrade no ideas, Dusty, have done nothing to slow the creep of jobs leaving the United States, in fact, they have risen and we still are working at two jobs. Damn man.

“President Donald Trump campaigned on the promise that he would prevent companies from laying off American workers in favor of cheaper foreign labor.

So far, he hasn’t delivered. Companies are laying off workers due to foreign competition at a pace of roughly 90,000 per year since Trump’s election, according to a new report from Good Jobs Nation, a union-backed worker advocacy group.”

Add that to the licking ag producers are taking and now to the loss of a promised pay increase for the good folks who also take care of some of our unappreciative arse’s and you have the perfect storm.

  47. Darin Larson 2018-08-31 08:44

Trump is running the country like he ran many of his failed business ventures: into insolvency. Trump is driving us toward federal debt levels not seen since WWII. Before the Great Recession, debt as a percentage of GDP was below 40%. We are currently at 78% and rising with Trump’s tax cuts costing $2.3 trillion over the next ten years and debt to GDP rising to 100% over the next decade. This is information from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

  48. jerry 2018-08-31 11:01

I think that even red state South Dakota is waking up to the con of don and NOem just like the rest of America. From today’s Washington Post.

“President Trump’s disapproval rating has hit a high point of 60 percent, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll that also finds that clear majorities of Americans support the special counsel’s Russia investigation and say the president should not fire Attorney General Jeff Sessions.”

Bah zing! the dude and the dudette are both duds, toss them. Hot Springs is calling you NOem, they want their campaign money back for your treachery and lies. You set them up and then you took it away, just like Lucy in Peanuts.

A full 24 hours after I broke this story, and after the $5K Kristi-Don photo shoot went all over the airwaves, Pat Powers has said nothing on Dakota War College about the big event that his buddy Dan Lederman announced yesterday by e-mail to party members.

Why would Powers ignore the imminent appearance of his party’s occupant of the White House in South Dakota?

  50. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2018-08-31 12:41

What about Dusty? I’ll bet that if Trump met Dusty, he’d feel intimidated by Dusty’s intelligence and would start making fun of his thin, boyish frame.

  51. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2018-08-31 12:44

Say, what about the campaign finance caps? Contributions to Kristi for Governor are capped at $4,000 from an individual per calendar year. To get the full $5,000 from each picture, Kristi would have to have the couple paying for each picture split the fee as $2500 from each person… and that assumes those high-rollers looking for pix with the Kristi-Don haven’t already maxed out.

Or the $5K will have to go to Trump’s PAC, which can then turn around and give unlimited sums to Kristi for Governor… after taking the Don’s cut, of course.

Tell you what Mike, i never got my DAMN CUT!
    😠😠😠😠😠

  55. OldSarg 2018-08-31 15:28

jerky~ “that take care of us at veterans hospitals, forest service, law enforcement and many others who vote and take seriously a loss of wages.” there is no loss of wages. They never had those wages.

Darling~ the wage freeze does not affect independent producers or business owners other than they will not have to pay additional taxes so you are good. Don’t worry about it. It’s not your paycheck it is mine.

I just spent 2.5 hours on Meadowbrook hacking up the course for 9 holes. I am really bad. I used “my” present paycheck to do so and guess what? I will still put money in savings (pay yourself first), pay my bills and have money for entertainment. We (federal employees:) are earning what we earn. We cannot lose what we haven’t yet received. You are all crying about something that doesn’t affect you.

  56. mike from iowa 2018-08-31 15:51

Why would Powers ignore the imminent appearance of his party’s occupant of the White House in South Dakota?

Maybe the 235 kg Russdian asset in the Kremlin Annex casts a larger shadow than Powers.

  57. jerry 2018-08-31 17:55

old soviet, ya gotta be the dumbest Russian ever. How they got you on the payroll now seems very clear to me.

“Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump told lawmakers on Thursday he wants to scrap a pay raise for civilian federal workers, saying the nation’s budget couldn’t support it.

In a letter to House and Senate leaders, Trump described the pay increase as “inappropriate.”
“We must maintain efforts to put our Nation on a fiscally sustainable course, and Federal agency budgets cannot sustain such increases,” the President wrote.
An across-the-board 2.1% pay increase for federal workers was slated to take effect in January. In addition, a yearly adjustment of paychecks based on the region of the country where a worker is posted — the “locality pay increase” — was due to take effect.” https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/30/politics/trump-cancels-federal-employee-pay-raises/index.html

In the workplace, here is how it works. If you are promised a wage increase and you do not get it, that is then called a reduction of wages or a wage decrease.

NOem just killed a wage increase for federal workers in Hot Springs, where she went to tell them what a great job she was doing with trump. They will want their money back for the illegal campaign that NOem and Rhododendron are running. All crooks and liars, they can’t help it. But we can, vote Billie Sutton and while you are at it, if you live up there around Aberdeen, vote for Cory or send him some campaign money to get to Pierre to help Billie clean up the mess.

  58. Porter Lansing 2018-08-31 18:12

Trump is in a “DEEP STATE” of trouble, now. This is why he got sued thousands of times. He’d refuse to pay his subcontractors as he’d agreed to do. Who thinks 3 million union employees are going to take this calmly? Especially on the most American holiday of the year.
    SAVE AMERICA – STOP TRUMP

  59. MJK 2018-09-01 08:51

I saw former Pres. Obama in Mitchell, SD before he became president. I missed him when he came to Watertown, SD, as President, to bring attention to the Lake Area Technical Institute there. Pres. Obama was trying to bring attention to young people entering technical schools since most states are short of skilled trade workers and Lake Area Tech. does a wonderful job. USA is less respected on the world forum because of Pres. Trump. I am saddened by what is happening in our nation and in Washington.

  60. jerry 2018-09-01 09:06

Comrade NOem shows her true country loyalty by bringing in yet another Putin lover to South Dakota. trump and Sessions got proven guilty of collusion with this affidavit from the “coffee boy” Papadopoulos. Lesson to be learned, treat your barista right or you might find yourself in jail.

“Eager to show his value to the campaign, George announced at the meeting that he had connections that could facilitate a foreign policy meeting between Mr. Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. While some in the room rebuffed George’s offer, Mr. Trump nodded with approval and deferred to Mr. Sessions who appeared to like the idea and stated that the campaign should look into it.”

trump is an “honored guest”, not even. The dude is the biggest threat to national security since forever. Lock him up! Lock him UP! Do some time with Rhoden in the Heartbreak Hotel. Like peas and carrots.

To make things right, Comrades NOem and trump should pay ag producers to the penny what they have lost with their dumb arse trade tariffs on grain production. We have the money and we have the debt, what is a few more billion to make this right.

“About a year ago, President Trump pledged to eliminate the national debt “over a period of eight years.” But for the first time in history, the national debt surpassed $21 trillion this week, according to the U.S. Treasury.

The landmark comes shortly after Congress passed, and Mr. Trump signed, a suspension on the federal debt limit last month, allowing the government to borrow an unlimited amount of money until March 1, 2019.” https://www.cbsnews.com/news/under-donald-trump-national-debt-tops-21-trillion-for-first-time-ever/

So there ya go, they can “borrow an unlimited amount of money until March 1, 2019” That would be in time for another planting season and it would give ag producers the resources to purchase the badly needed equipment of keep up their business model.

We could drop $700 Billion from defence on unneeded bloat and put that into the family farm. Seriously, we are fighting wars with the same stuff I used in Vietnam more or less. We have fighter jets that don’t fight and a base here in South Dakota that could close tomorrow and the world would never know, but our pocket books would.

Old Sarge – here’s the key to Trumps huge crowds. A few days before his Indiana appearance, there was a local Craig’s list add asking for 500 =/- people to yell, holler, applaud and carry signs for Trump from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM for $15/hr. There have been similar efforts to “salt” the crowds EVERY WHERE HE GOES. Check the SF and SC Craig’s Lists a few days before this “event” and see if maybe you can get paid to attend/support.

Do u have a copy of ad? I’d like it to show a few people

  64. OldSarg 2018-09-01 11:22

Jerry~ Brilliant!!!! “In the workplace, here is how it works. If you are promised a wage increase and you do not get it, that is then called a reduction of wages or a wage decrease.”~Jerry

We were not “promised” a wage increase. We went several years under the obummer debacle with no pay raises at all. Bush gave us a 3.2% in 2009. We had a three-year pay freeze from 2011 through 2013. I’ll be honest with you, even a plumber civilian working for the military makes $25/hr which is some of the highest wages in the state.

MJK~ “USA is less respected on the world forum because of Pres. Trump” the is blatantly not true as you can ask the EU, Mexico, Canada and China. . . They know they have had too good of a thing for way too long and they are now facing a trade team led by Trump they have never seen before. Look how quickly they are all falling. Trump is seen by the Chinese as a brilliant tactician but they are dealing with their whole economy whereas you have never even traveled outside of the USA.

Richard~ Paid to attend? You don’t believe that crap do you? Why don’t you post something from someone that actually got paid anything to attend? Anyone can put a post on Craigslist. Look at this posting. You may know the guy: https://rapidcity.craigslist.org/atq/6686546930.html

  66. jerry 2018-09-01 11:43

I don’t know what you were promised in Russia. Here, we were promised this ” An across-the-board 2.1% pay increase for federal workers was slated to take effect in January. In addition, a yearly adjustment of paychecks based on the region of the country where a worker is posted — the “locality pay increase” — was due to take effect.”

So there ya go, oh and here ya go ” Federal employees will never forget the three-year pay freeze from 2011 through 2013 under Obama — which Congress also was responsible for. Obama actually tried to end the freeze in 2012 through an executive order, which lawmakers overturned through legislation and the president signed.”

Obama tried, but there was a republican congress determined to undermine all that he did or tried to do.

Ag producers and business say that Comrade trump/NOem are hurting the South Dakota economy. Here is from Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce ”

Several business and farm leaders agreed Thursday that President Trump’s threats of trade tariffs would slow South Dakota’s economy and tax revenues in the months ahead.

They participated in a forum sponsored by the Americans For Progress–South Dakota organization and shown live on the Internet from Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce CEO Jason Ball said pork processing would be hurt, as would businesses that chill meat and businesses such as trucking and railroads.”

So, by all means, invite the gang who is killing your pocketbooks. Like a poet needs the pain. Hey, is Poet feeling the pain, looks like they are trading without issue.

Farmers arrange their hay bales in the flight zone around Sioux Falls to spell out “No Tariffs! No Trump!” Trump may not look, but reporters will. The farmers should then drive their tractors to Sioux Falls Friday and blockade the roads between the airport and whatever hotel is hosting the Kristi-Don photo op. Bring your ethanol signs.

People who joined the Women’s March should encircle the hotel and, 3,000-strong, chant, “Lock them up” (Trump and now Rhoden—Kristi still appears not to be breaking the law).

Immigrants to South Dakota should line the road outside the airport with signs saying, “We make America great” and “We’re welcome—you’re not, Don.”

Another collusion guilty plea for Mueller against trump/NOem and the South Dakota republican posse.

“A business associate of Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian consultant indicted by U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, pleaded guilty on Friday to failing to register as a lobbyist for a pro-Kremlin political party in Ukraine.

Samuel Patten, 47, pleaded guilty in a federal court in Washington to violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) by lobbying for the Ukrainian Opposition Bloc between 2014 and 2018 without disclosing the work to the U.S. government.” Oh, but it gets even better. https://www.rawstory.com/2018/08/manafort-associated-samuel-patten-charged-foreign-lobbying-violation/

The headline on page 1 of today’s RC Journal notes that through use of various campaign finance maneuvers a single attendee could donate up to $23,000 for the privilege of hob-nobbing with Trump and Kristi. I think the Sutton campaign should immediately seize on this news and solicit thousands of donors to give $23 each. Bernie made a lot of hay touting his average donation of $27 … I think this is a convenient parallel.

  74. jerry 2018-09-01 17:45

We need to keep Comrade trump in office and not impeach him. The longer he is there, the longer it will be before another Russian steals the office. The longer the taste of the Borscht will stick to the roof of our mouths. Sometimes you have to destroy the village to save it.

@Jerry … Agreed. Once we take Congress, Trump will be impotent and much less able to ruin our environment, trade partnerships and military. It’s fascinating how the Legislative Branch has given all it’s power to the Executive Branch. Add in the unscrupulous tactics used to overpower the Judicial Branch and it was a perfect sh*t storm the founders didn’t predict. Next opportunity, we need to alter the Constitution to prevent this from ever escalating, again.

You supposively support all this government in our lives and through you actions today you have proven you are not a man of your blogs title “Dakota FREE Press”. You are no different than any dictator. Very sad.

So, why are you doing that? I prove a point and you delete it again? Honestly, I am no longer surprised. Debate for you is all ok unless you don’t like it. This is exactly why Noem and others do not see a benefit in even engaging with someone who will alter, delete change or something more suspect on this site. I am actually surprised, and a little disgusted with your biased views. This is the whole problem with those of your ilk. You will only allow what you agree with. Any other views are to be eliminated. This is what happened to the Jews, the Russians, the Venezuelans, the Cubans, even Little House on the Prairie. You need to look within yourself and ask who and what else are you willing to eliminate just to support your beliefs. It’s a sad view my friend. Very sad.

Samuel Patten is another link that goes to the trump inaguarel where millions of dollars were laundered by the Russians.

“What happened at Donald Trump’s inauguration 18 months ago, and why does special counsel Robert Mueller appear to be so interested in it?

Last week, ABC News’s Matthew Mosk and John Santucci reported that several wealthy Russians were “granted unusual access” to Trump inauguration parties back in January 2017 — and that Mueller was seeking to find out why.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Mueller’s interest in the inauguration. Back in April, CNN reported that the special counsel was investigating “whether wealthy Russians illegally funneled cash donations directly or indirectly into Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and inauguration” — and had even questioned some oligarchs directly.” https://www.vox.com/2018/7/5/17505728/trump-inauguration-mueller-russians-rick-gates

With all the money being tossed about in this September 7, meet, I wonder how much of it is laundered? It seems kind of funny that Comrade NOem, who has been in Washington for years and has not really had a credible challenger for her house seat, is suddenly so broke that she needs don the con to come in. I wonder how much her take will be on this launder grift.

  85. jerry 2018-09-01 22:37

How much will Sioux Falls taxpayers have to pay for the Sioux Falls launder grift? Maybe the new mayor just thinks that will not be a problem to pay the several thousands of dollars for the grift.

  86. jerry 2018-09-01 22:43

Are ya ready to rumble Sioux Falls? All that cash lying around, just has to be spent. If their are roads to repair, who needs that when you have Comrade don the con in town. Get out the taxpayer checkbook mayor and scratch a hot one on the backs of the working stiffs. It is Labor Day so they can just labor a bit more to take care of this.

“The Trump campaign, in particular, was responsible for at least $204,000 in unpaid security bills. These costs include police and fire department staffing hours and overtime for security and traffic control, the cost of equipment such as barricades, and even, in some cases, utility costs and media relations.”

Great article about John McCain’s rejection of Paul Manafort and why. It is clear that Comrade trump and Comrade NOem are not cut of the same cloth as a great American and would choose to sell out America for their own gain at the expense of destroying the country. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/08/john-mccains-epiphany-about-paul-manafort/568600/?utm_source=twb

Comrade trump needs to go home to Russia and take his moll with him. It has been a long sad time to watch NOem do nothing in Washington other than to be a part of her maneuvers to destroy social nets that are so very important to the state of South Dakota and the rest of the nation. All of this was done while she stood and watched the national debt climb to all time highs with the income gap growing even further between the wealthy and the rest of us. Comrade NOem will land on her feet that is for sure, you go far by doing nothing in Washington this past decade. They both have worn out their welcome.

I cannot believe the bias I am reading against Trump. No one hears the truth unless they listen to Fox News. In less than 2 years he has done more for America than any other president before him. I hope to attend and I’m glad to pay the $500 per person in order to see him. He has proven how strong he is by the way he stands up to the far left, fake news and swamp in Washington. No other President has been attacked for absolutely everything he says and does. Have you even heard about how the conspiracy to defeat him included the DOJ and FBI! Everyone should be up in arms about that and how Hillary and the DNC paid for the Russian fake conspiracy and Mueller has more dirt clinging to him than anyone. Investigate before you sling your bias.

Was just reading an article in the Atlantic about Watergate and letters the Atlantic received from readers about the scandal.

This was interesting from a Nixon bot- Schlesinger’s article was “lousy yellow journalism,” wrote G.L. Frederic from Scio, Oregon. He felt that Nixon was doing an “ultra-fine job of running the country,” and that more articles should be reporting on that:

You as a member of the press are totally enslaved to the obligation of protecting and defending him in his duty. The constitution keeps you free to do this—so do it.

Could this be the same non-sense that squirms its way through a certain, unnamed Trump bot/Russian troll? (OS) The unnamed troll certainly has unusual ideas of how journalists are supposed to act towards this bogus potus we are saddled with today.

#TrollTracker: How To Spot Russian Trolls – Recognizing possible Russian trolls masquerading as citizens of USA.
~ The number one indicator – hyper-partisan content
~ Linguistics – The inability to use the grammatical articles — “a” and “the” — appropriately. The Russian language has neither.
Examples of misusing “the” and “a”. “I don’t want my kids to walk on streets with (the)* sign like this,” and “to stop (the)* Islamophobia and Xenophobia.” * = wrong usage
~ Linguistics – Another common linguistic indicator is the inability to phrase a question. In Russian, the word order for questions does not change. Many known Russian troll accounts have posted questions which kept the word order of statements. examples:
“Why our government doesn’t send us some help?!
“Now I wonder, what do you watching, guys?”
~ Narrative – The Russian government has developed a distinctive narrative on key geopolitical events of the last five years.

The NRA had to hire a new leader because of South Dakota. No kidding, Comrade Dusty and Comrade Erickson’s sex kitten was into all kinds of stuff that makes South Dakota crooked politics as legendary as the Sturgis Bike Rally. Oliver North got the call, unexpectedly, because the crap had just hit the fan.

“Ms. Butina’s efforts to deal in Russian jet fuel, detailed in hundreds of pages of previously unreported emails, were notable not just for their whiff of foreign intrigue but for who they involved: David Keene, a former president of the National Rifle Association and a prominent leader of the conservative movement, who has advised Republican candidates from Ronald Reagan to Mitt Romney. They also involved Mr. Keene’s wife, Donna, a well-connected Washington lobbyist, and Ms. Butina’s boyfriend, Paul Erickson, who ran Patrick J. Buchanan’s 1992 presidential campaign and who moved in rarefied conservative circles despite allegations of fraud in three states.” New York Times 09/02/2018

Comrade trump is coming here for a refresher course in corruption (like he needed one) When republicans are in charge, you only need to look to Pierre or to Washington to see the grand theft of democracy. Sioux Falls tax payers, you are on the hook for the visit. How do you like them apples?

  96. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2018-09-02 16:58

Kaye, since you’re attending, can you tell us where the event is taking place?

But bias against Trump? I’ve reported that he’s coming to Sioux Falls and that Noem is whoring him out for photos at $5,000 a pop. That’s ridiculous. I would ridicule a Democrat doing the same thing… but gee, no Democratic President is coming to Sioux Falls to help a Democratic candidate for Governor charge such wild rates to participate in his cult of personality, is he?

What sounds like bias is just honest reporting of the fact that Donald Trump and Kristi Noem do crap that Democrats don’t. I’m not sorry, Kaye, that we Democrats don’t run around doing the same kind of awful things Trump does just to satisfy your mistaken sense of balanced reporting.

trump’s Russia stands ready to neutralize NATO from its new Mediteranian base and trump’s nonsense has now made China on equal terms with our Pacific fleet. Well played trump republicans, well played.

“DALIAN, China — In April, on the 69th anniversary of the founding of China’s Navy, the country’s first domestically built aircraft carrier stirred from its berth in the port city of Dalian on the Bohai Sea, tethered to tugboats for a test of its seaworthiness.

“China’s first homegrown aircraft carrier just moved a bit, and the United States, Japan and India squirmed,” a military news website crowed, referring to the three nations China views as its main rivals.

Not long ago, such boasts would have been dismissed as the bravado of a second-string military. No longer.

A modernization program focused on naval and missile forces has shifted the balance of power in the Pacific in ways the United States and its allies are only beginning to digest.” New York Times 08/29/2018

Can you imagine the firestorm this news would have created with a Democratic congress? Yikes, these guys get all silly about transgender people, little alone trans Atlantic and trans Pacific events of this magnitude. How much are we spending on a defense that is defenseless? We need new direction in Washington. Send Tim Bjorkman to Washington and let this bozoheaded trump blather all he wants with his co-Comrade NOem.

  107. jerry 2018-09-03 19:12

Read the article, it speaks for itself. Thanks to Comrade trump and Comrade NOem, we have this as well as loosing the trade war. We have made the Chinese Navy the largest and most advanced in the world. Ask your boy trump when you go worship his failed sorry arse.

““China is now capable of controlling the South China Sea in all scenarios short of war with the United States,” the new commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command, Adm. Philip S. Davidson, acknowledged in written remarks submitted during his Senate confirmation process in March.

He described China as a “peer competitor” gaining on the United States not by matching its forces weapon by weapon but by building critical “asymmetrical capabilities,” including with anti-ship missiles and in submarine warfare. “There is no guarantee that the United States would win a future conflict with China,” he concluded.

Last year, the Chinese Navy became the world’s largest, with more warships and submarines than the United States, and it continues to build new ships at a stunning rate. Though the American fleet remains superior qualitatively, it is spread much thinner.” New York Times 08/29/2018

  108. Debbo 2018-09-03 21:48

OS said, “You should not comment on military capabilities when you have 1) never served.”

Therefore, there is not a single Russpublican, especially Cadet Bone Spurs, who may say a word about military matters.

Thank you for clearing that up OS.

  109. Debbo 2018-09-03 21:50

But please stop asking us if we own guns, think about suicide, abuse alcohol, when we last had a bowel movement and the myriad of other bureaucratic questions they feed you.

If you don’t know of what you speak it is best to keep quiet or others will know of your ignorance. This blog is already filled with those.

  111. Debbo 2018-09-03 22:07

I see that you dodged my comment OS. Judging from what you just said to me, then no Russpublicans in Congress, nor Cadet Bone Spurs, should ever open their mouths to make any comments, policy or for sure ever try to write or sign any laws or take any actions regarding the military or veterans.

Why? Because OS said so and in his own, personal view, that is enough.

    THE END.

  112. OldSarg 2018-09-04 05:13

Obummer never served and Hillary never served. They truly screwed up Iraq, that was won, used the CIA to create ISIS, invaded Libya, paid Iran how much? So yes, when it comes to randomly commenting you should keep the clapper shut and hire experts to make the Military decisions.

Seen any wars started lately, like in the last almost two years? At leastTrump had the sense to hire the best. Between you and the last administration you’re on the path to end our world. Please stop.

OldSummerSausage is pathological. The CIA did not create ISIS. They did, however, have a lot to do with Mujahadeen and al quada- training and financing them to fight Soviets in Afghanistan.

ISIS formed in the power void after stoopid dumbass dubya took out Saddam Hussein with no plans what to do afterwards.

Money that Iran received, which did not come from the US, was Iranian assets released as part of the nukular deal yer buddy Drumpf trashed.

We never came close to winning IRAQ as there was no set goal except for a belated, plaintive whine about regime change and all we accomplished was destabilizing the entire Middle East.

Go peddle yer false narratives over on Stormfront where they would openly welcome numbskulls like you with open arms.

Big corrupt spender Comrades trump/NOem are gonna be together to grift even further. Meanwhile, Comrade Dusty says that he will be focused on the national debt. What could be further from the truth than that whopper? Comrades trump/NOem have raised the debt into the stratosphere with more coming, you know that Comrade Dusty is just lying…again.

Meanwhile, here come da judge to clean the broken joint up in Washington and do some serious good for the country and do something for South Dakota’s good folk.
“Bjorkman, a retired state circuit judge from Canistota, said he’s seen the need to reduce costs of health care and wants it available to every person in South Dakota.

“I’m a reformer and I’ll go to work there for that,” he said.

Bjorkman promised to battle insurance and pharmaceutical companies and would fight for family farmers on the House Agriculture Committee and as a member of the House Judiciary Committee.” Bah zing! Who do you want, another proven corrupted Russian lover or a man of integrity? Me, I am for law and order for Tim Bjorkman.

mike, buy a mirror. Go stand in front of it. Open your eyes. Stupidity in all its glory right there.

Comrades trump/NOem, defenders of Russian agression in our homeland and now coming to South Dakota for another money grab, so reality tee vee these days.

“They have refused to defend America’s national security in the face of Russian attacks. They have refused to defend the rule of law against Trump’s attacks. They have refused to defend the F.B.I., the Justice Department and the First Amendment. They have refused to defend the basic civil rights that Trump seeks to deny to dark-skinned American citizens, including the right to vote and the right to hold a passport.”

Here is who will be here for $23,000.00 a head as a payoff for the sellout, Comrades trump and NOem. These two do not adhere to moral American values, we reject them for their treachery and for their treason.

  117. mike from iowa 2018-09-04 09:23

Not even a decent deflection, OldScapegoat. Wassamatter, can’t find proof of yer lies anywhere?

  118. jerry 2018-09-04 13:15

Comrade trump has not released one nickel to counter his Russian pals efforts to derail the upcoming elections.

“WASHINGTON — As Russia’s virtual war against the United States continues unabated with the midterm elections approaching, the State Department has yet to spend any of the $120 million it has been allocated since late 2016 to counter foreign efforts to meddle in elections or sow distrust in democracy.

As a result, not one of the 23 analysts working in the department’s Global Engagement Center — which has been tasked with countering Moscow’s disinformation campaign — speaks Russian, and a department hiring freeze has hindered efforts to recruit the computer experts needed to track the Russian efforts.” New York Times

$120 million bucks is chump change, but nothing from the chump or his moll. Why won’t NOem demand release of the money?

  119. o 2018-09-04 13:45

Nor has President Trump carried through with his 1.5 trillion dollars in infrastructure spending.

Saying, “Make America great again” is apparently easier than doing it.

  120. jerry 2018-09-04 13:55

I correct myself, add $380 million to that amount. South Dakota was to receive $3,000,000.00 with a 5% match of $150,000.00 from the state for a total of $3,150,000.00 What happened to the money? If we got it, where is it being used? If we did not get it, Jackley should demand a recount with NOem as he may have gotten bushwhacked with the faulty computers.

OS agrees that Cadet Bone Spurs has no business in military matters since he is a certified draft dodger. Only people with expertise and experience should make policy. Therefore, military policy will now be left up to that Great American Hero, Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-WI, and the joint chiefs.

When it comes to farm policy, because there are no real farmers in Congress, they’ll have to ignore it. Here on DFP the only person who may comment on farm policy is Nick Nemec. If it’s about health that’s all for Jenny, a nurse.

Schools? Cory. Elections? Cory, since he’s a candidate.

Best of all, any women’s issues such as maternity, the right to control her own body, equal pay, etc., will be settled by Jenny and I, with occasional odd interjection by Ann.

I guess that leaves one thing you’re allowed to comment on OS– old men.

Thanks for clarifying the commenting rules! 😆😆😆😆😆

Comrade trump looses another nation to China’s influence, this time El Salvador on the One Belt One Road. Yet he has time to come here to South Dakota. Maybe NOem should tell the fraud to do his damn job.

“El Salvador might be a small nation, but the United States is worried it has something more to offer mainland China than diplomatic recognition: a port that could be used for military purposes.
The Central American country officially cut ties with Taipei and established a formal alliance with Beijing on Tuesday, leaving Taiwan with just 17 nations that officially recognise its status.

While Taipei has accused Beijing of luring its allies away with generous aid offers, Washington sees the latest switch as not just a case of piling more pressure on the self-ruled island, but a move to shore up mainland China’s security and strategic planning in the region.” https://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy-defence/article/2160731/chinas-new-alliance-stirs-us-worries-over-military-base

China is not afraid to engage openly with people of color to bring them into trading partners. We want to bully them into trade deals. Looks like they are now even successful in Afghanistan as we continue to loose more blood and treasure there. China is openly trading there and now training Afghans in a military role.

Debbo- make me secretary of spuds, onions and speckled apple gourds. And aspersions even if they re-seed themselves every year.

  124. mike from iowa 2018-09-04 15:24

Jerry, you are wrong on El Salvadior. Ask OldSnowdrift. He says the world respects America now so they can’t be dealing behind Drumpf’s back.

Comrade trump and Comrade NOem continue to block election security as the mid terms get closer.

“WASHINGTON (AP) — Just two months before the midterm elections, bipartisan legislation to try to prevent foreign hacking into U.S. election systems is stalled in Congress as the White House and some Republicans worry it could exert too much federal control over the states.

Supporters of the bill say the delay could embolden Russia, which targeted election infrastructure in at least 21 states in 2016.

The delay has some concerned that Congress could punt on the only piece of legislation that is designed to fix what went wrong in 2016 — and to prevent Russia or other countries from trying again.” https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/supporters-of-election-security-bill-warn-delay-could-embolden-russia-in-2018-midterms

While America is under attack, Comrade trump brings his fat arse here to South Dakota to grift for Comrade NOem. Neither seem to care much for America or for democracy, only interested in the sellout, just the money baby, just the money. Tell trump to go to Washington and do his damn job, protect the homeland from the Russian attacks.

  126. Debbo 2018-09-04 16:03

I’m sure Wankmaggot and the Russpublicans will mention this nugget in their campaign stop:

“Hotter temperatures will, according to a new study in Science, make insects hungrier, which in turn will spread more disease and decimate more crops. For every 1 degree Celsius (about 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) wheat, corn and rice will be damaged 10 to 25 percent. [NBC News]

More bad news on healthcare. The poor excuse for and Attorney General, Marty Jackley, got his licks in on your healthcare. Looks like it may be a rough time for all.

“The Democratic attorneys general, who were forced into defending the law when the Trump administration bowed out, conceded the reconciliation rules Republicans used to pass the 2017 tax law barred Congress from amending or repealing the ACA’s statutory language surrounding consumer protections.

The plaintiff GOP states, led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, are asking for an injunction against the entire ACA starting in 2019. The U.S. Justice Department, which argued that the individual mandate and consumer protections be tossed but that the rest of the law stand, asked O’Connor to postpone judgment until after the individual market’s open-enrollment period so as not to spook insurers.” http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20180905/NEWS/180909977?AllowView=VDl3UXg1T3dDdkdCbkJiYkY0M3pjME9najBVZERlRT0

See a real government of the people and for the people, has an obligation to defend the law. Comrade trump and Comrade NOem do not believe in the rule of law so here is where we are, in a courtroom in Texas. We Americans are letting ourselves become Russians. This is how they do stuff there with no regard for law and order, just do what Putin wants.
