Governor Expands Guards’ Snow Relief Mission in Indian Country

The National Guard troops hauling firewood from the Black Hills to our snowbound Indian neighbors around Rosebud may have found more snow trouble along the way. The Governor’s office yesterday announced an expansion of the National Guard’s snow relief mission in Indian Country:

In addition to this mission, the Guard will also be hauling timber to the Oglala Sioux Tribe. They will also be helping with snow removal in support of both the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and the Oglala Sioux Tribe. They will be performing these missions in conjunction with the Department of Public Safety and the Department of Transportation [Office of the Governor, press release, 2022.12.23].

KELO-TV notes that yesterday’s deployment of Guard plows and Thursday’s emergency declaration came a week after Rosebud Sioux Tribe President Scott Herman declared a snow emergency and asked the state to help.

Tribal communities deserve their own version of the National Guard instead of being at the mercy of the states that compete against them for resources and especially in states like South Dakota where Republican governors have even waged biological war against them.

Noem treats the Res counties like Puerto Rico. One week?

Has she ever been to Pine Ridge or rosebud?

    Feds?

How many times have Dem party run a Native American for Governor? Zero?

It is time for Natives to be at least 10% of the current government, a Governor, and reparations by Federal treaty and state law. Lotto money, $125 million? Reparations for education, housing, start up funds and cash.

Tatewin Means ran for office (AG?) out of the Penn Dems along with several other Lakota, Dakota or Nakota folks, like for PUC, Secretary if State etc.

Mr. ABC, the Governor was banned from travelling to those sovereign nations so she probably has not been there.

Mr. Volesky, a Standing Rock good standing member, has run for Governor 3 times and the General Attorney office at least twice, under the banner of the Democrat Party. So there is at least that, if you’re not paying attention.

The last paragraph of your blogging was mostly unintelligible and didn’t really make full sentences. grudznick understands.
