¡Vota por Renaldo en Distrito Quince!

Senator Reynold Nesiba has the good sense to sponsor Dakota Free Press. He also has the good sense to reach out to voters in their own language:

District 15 is a reasonably compact chunk of north central Sioux Falls bounded by I-29 on the west, Highway 38/60th Street North on the north, I-229 and Cliff on the east (the boundary jogs west just north of the Big Sioux River), and 14th and 18th Streets on the south (the boundary jogs south at Minnesota Avenue. District 15 includes the Smithfield Foods slaughterhouse which employs numerous new Americans, many of whom speak Spanish. District 15 does not include the site of the proposed Wholestone Farms slaughterhouse whose existence will be on the Sioux Falls ballot in November.

Well, he has enough time to provide another first. How about a flyer printed in Lakota, Nakota and Dakota (not sure if there’s a difference in the languages those folks speak). Even though most natives who speak their language also read English, it’d be a cool thing to do.

  2. Professor Nesiba can sit in the legislature and in local government concurrently, right? Tom Nelson did it.

  3. I wonder what he would rename Mt.Rushmore, heh heh.

Mr. Nelson, Lar, was a lowly Mayor. Mr. Apa, your old pal, on the other hand, did all sorts of underhanded self dealings. And I’m not talking about the poker games that our good friend Bob was part of.
