Another Noem Endorsement, Another Primary Loss: Clarice Schillinger Fourth in PA GOP LG Primary

All that running, and still no legs….

Hey, Rachel! Stephanie! Jake! And any of you other first-time Legislative candidates flaunting Kristi Noem’s endorsement—don’t get too cocky. Another Noem endorsee just bit the dust in another primary.

Clarice Schillinger, Republican candidate for Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor, proudly touted Noem’s endorsement during the last few weeks of the campaign, saying, “What Kristi Noem has done for South Dakota is exactly what I want to do in Pennsylvania—Less Government. More Freedom.”

In yesterday’s Pennsylvania primary, that pitch got Schillinger fourth place.

That’s the third loss this month for a Republican statewide candidate endorsed by Noem: Timken in Ohio, Herbster in Nebraska, and now Schillinger in Pennsylvania.

Jake’s dad thinks Kristi Noem is “probably the greatest asset we have” in the Republican primary. And maybe here at Kristi’s home airport, that’s true—after all, the SDSU Poll finds South Dakota Republicans hotter for Kristi than they are for Trump or any of our Congress critters. But in all the other primaries where Noem has so far tried to flex her farm-girl muscle, she’s only gotten her assets kicked.

You know. Clarice left off the third sentence. “Less government. More freedom. More dying.” Being a killer is good for votes. She could have been a Contender.

Noem’s brand isn’t worth a cold horse apple.

I’ve never understood why anyone running for office would want an endorsement from anyone not in the district of the candidate. You are running to represent your constituency, not some out-of-state politician or special interest. Accepting an endorsement from Noem may or may not be the kiss of death, but it’s a slap in the face to your constituents. Run on issues and experience. Hitch your wagon to your district, not some politician.

well…4th place is about right for a Noem endorsee. She’s a fourth rate Republican “celebrity” having not polled over 1% herself in any poll for the Republican nomination. Clarice should have known better.
