State Buries Lead Story: Vaccines Now Available for 12–15 Year Olds!

Dipstick T-pist tool and Noem appointee Dan Bucheli finally says something useful from his perch at the Department of Health: coronavirus vaccines for 12–15 year olds are safe, effective, and available in South Dakota!

Today, the South Dakota Department of Health (SD-DOH) announced that adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15 are now eligible to receive their COVID-19 vaccination statewide. The announcement comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention authorized the Pfizer vaccine for emergency use for this age group. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also recommended this last Monday evening.

“Given vaccines have proven safe and effective, offering them to this age group is yet another way to protect our citizens and our communities against COVID-19,” said Daniel Bucheli, SD-DOH Communications Director. “Our partners across the state stand ready to get shots in arms, and we encourage parents to protect their children from the virus by getting them vaccinated today.”

According to U.S. Census data, 48,120 state residents qualify under this age group [South Dakota Department of Health, press release, 2021.05.12].

Having to say that vaccines work and encourage South Dakotans to get them has got to hurt a guy brought here from D.C. to help Kristi Noem attack dissidents. To soften the blow and keep it from looking like South Dakota is following President Biden in  taking mass vaccination seriously, Team Noem made sure that vitally important vaccine-expansion announcement was buried under other more pressing state headlines:

More vaccines for more South Dakotans: slightly more important than a car crash near Canistota, but not nearly as important as entering livestock in the state fair, deploying new kiosks for renewing license tags, or, the biggie, taking away unemployment assistance from people who need it.

Obviously Dan Bucheli and his boss are much more interested in sticking it to the poor than sticking vaccines in people’s arms.

Noem’s South Dakota is the “Juneteenth” of news.

Come on Cory, you know the pubs have to stop the Biden economy somehow. What better way to do it and still look strong than to screw the poor people and cause a crash if possible, its a win win for them.

I logged on to the Avera coronavirus vaccine page this evening just before supper to see if they would have times available for my daughter to get a shot. Avera offered a whole bunch of available times tomorrow afternoon after 4:55 p.m.

    grudzcoin. Far better than Bitcoin.

I do not understand why the liquor establishment would want to stop Mr. Biden’s inanest spending yet, Mr. Anderson? Why would bars and pubs want to reign in the free breakfast money Mr. Biden is printing on the back of monopoly bills? If you want to really invest in something, I’ve got some grudzcoin that’s only doubling in price every week.
