Ravnsborg’s Lawyer Trying to Delay Misdemeanor Trial with Lengthy and Futile Discovery

Good grief: all killer Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg is charged with is three measly misdemeanors, and his lawyer needs more time to prep for trial?

The defense attorney for South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg said in court Wednesday he needs more time to prepare for a criminal trial.

His client is accused of three misdemeanor traffic violations in the September 12, 2020, death of pedestrian Joe Boever along U.S. 14 at the west edge of Highmore.

Retired Circuit Judge John Brown told lawyers a second status hearing will be held in the early part of July. He wants the trial in August or early September.

“I don’t see any reason we should go out beyond that,” the judge said [Bob Mercer, “Judge Wants Ravnsborg Trial This Summer,” KELO-TV, 2021.05.12].

Rensch says he’s still waiting for a bunch of interviews and reports from the prosecution, and he’s just hired an expert to reconstruct Ravnsborg’s traffic mishap—but seriously? Why make that much effort? It’s not Ravnsborg is on trial for killing a man.

Ravnsborg faces charges of careless driving, driving out of his lane, and operating a motor vehicle while on his phone. Every bit of publicly available evidence, from the crime scene information to the Attorney General’s phone logs to his own words to investigators support the conclusion that Jason Ravnsborg committed all of those crimes. Rensch and Ravnsborg could spend a million bucks and not controvert those plain facts. A smart lawyer would advise his client to plead guilty now and save his money for the civil lawsuit and save his money for whatever portion of the really big settlement his insurance company won’t pay.

The legal system is for the rich… Loop Hole attorneys finding ways to justify a guilty mans actions and the family never getting justice for their loss. The legal system is bought by the rich. Let us not forget that a higher power will avenge the wrongs in this world. Karma is a bitch Ravnborg….

Mr. Ravnsborg, the least competent General Attorney the state has ever seen, is just trying to milk this out as long as possible to keep drawing his big salary for doing nothing. Mark down grudznick’s words here: Mr. Ravnsborg is a Dunsel.

Why has the army not ousted him?

Also, Ms. Gwen, there is no higher power than that of the dollar and the sword. Rich people indeed do fare better in the legal system just as they do in most areas of life than do the poor people.

    Mr. Ravnsborg is not rich.
God is dead. God drowned in a bowl of cereal.

Hopefully, when convicted, he’ll have to serve the sentences consecutively.

    Special investigators were necessary.

A special prosecutor is necessary. (Local prosecutors punted).

Can Judge Brown fairly judge this case? Is the bar association considering Jason’s killing of Joe Boever?

    Rensch is churning for dollars.
