Tim Ryan to GOP: Get Over Culture War Obsession, Do Real Work for Real Workers

Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan gave a good speech at the 2016 McGovern Day Dinner in Sioux Falls. He gave a great speech on the U.S. House Floor this week frying Republicans for their misfocus on the culture war:

Mr. Speaker, one of the earlier speakers said, “This is the most dramatic change in Labor Law in 80 years,” and I say, thank God. In the late 70s, a CEO made 35 times the worker. Today it’s three to 400 times the worker and our friends on the other side, running around with their hair on fire, heaven forbid we pass something that’s going to help the damn workers in the United States of America. Heaven forbid we tilt the balance that has been going in the wrong direction for 50 years. We talk about pensions, you complain. We talk about the minimum wage increase, you complain. We talk about giving them the right to organize, you complain, but if we’re passing a tax cut here, you’d be all getting in line to vote yes for it. Now, stop talking about Dr. Seuss and start working with us on behalf of the American workers [Rep. Tim Ryan, floor speech, transcribed by Rev.com, 2021.03.09].

Congressman Ryan was speaking in favor of the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, a labor rights bill that the House passed on Tuesday. The bill would do real good for real workers, far beyond the gut-scratching Republicans offer us with their distraction and obstruction and obsession over people’s private lives.

Just so we can be lear about who Senator Thune is advocating for in wanting to eliminate the Estate Tax:

“Not a single family farm owed an estate tax according to the latest data,” said Gunnels. “Not a single one.” (from MFI’s linked article above)

We have a pandemic raging, the very one magats have been downplaying and outright lying about it from the beginning. We have incessant magat attempts to pass laws to disenfranchise more voters becaujse magats lost the last election. We have uncountable investigations into magat crimes magats refused to deal with. We have foreign relations that need be addressed and healed after drumpf trashed America around the world.

We have adults in charge once again and what do magats do? They cry rivers over Dr Suess, the demise of Mr Potato Head and drive themselves to distractioin over trans girls ruining girl’s sports in general.

Magats don’t want to fix America. They want to fix the elections so they can destroy America and Democracy.

    Basically, they hate us.

Bucko. Hate would be too strong an emotion, and would assign us a place in te hierarchy of existence with too much power. They are “disturbed” by our existence, like an itch in the night that wakes one up and requires some self-massage.

How are all you Neanderthals doing today? I see the Sioux Falls mayor voted down masks, brave boy isn’t he? Its always good to have a nine year old girl setting your policy. O, Thune actually needs to read Jeffersons letters to Adam’s on the estate tax, apparently Thune wants to further the aristocracy. Don’t worry about the pubs when the unemployment rate hits 4% by 2022 what will they run on, stupidity? The trumpies continue to ruin that party, gosh, its so hard to watch isn’t it?
