No Articles of Impeachment Yet, But Remember How Stupid “Meth. We’re On It™” Was?

Members of the South Dakota House of Representatives have not introduced articles of impeachment against man-slaughtering Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg yet. But the Democratic caucus did file a resolution today designed to tweak Governor Kristi Noem for one of her early foibles.

House Concurrent Resolution 6009 urges the Executive Branch to put its money where it’s mouth is and ship locally for advertising. HCR 6009 clearly pokes fun at the Governor for  spending $1,375,000 in 2019 on Minneapolis ad firm Broadhead’s widely panned “Meth. We’re On It™” drug-awareness campaign… which in retrospect looks more like an effort to raise Kristi-awareness and lay the groundwork for her Presidential campaign as the poor little cowgirl that the liberal media picks on.

Noem’s early investment in laughable ads from Minnesota seems to reflect her subsequent stacking of her administration with out-of-state spokespeople (Seidel, Fury, Bucheli) to raise her profile with tone-deaf messaging. And I certainly encourage the eager beavers running to unseat Noem in 2022 to loudly and frequently trumpet the points made in HCR 6009:

…this state signals to college students that good work and stable jobs primarily exist out of state when awarding contracts to out-of-state advertising agencies…

…awarding contracts to in-state advertising agencies would be consistent with this state’s plea to its citizens to shop local, and to work and live in this state…

…The recirculation of tax dollars not only provides jobs for advertising agencies, but also for many others, including media vendors, grocery store clerks, and teachers. Studies show that sixty-eight jobs are supported for every one million dollars spent in advertising in this state. In short, when money leaves this state, so do jobs [HCR 6009, excerpts from the Whereases, filed 2021.02.22].

But there will be plenty of time to revisit Noem’s incompetent disregard for the welfare of her fellow South Dakotans in 2022, when we have candidates who can kick Noem’s can daily with such serious critiques. And resolutions in the Capitol are mostly a waste of time. If anyone has spare time and ink for resolutions, they should be dedicated to the one resolution that will do some real good and justice right now: a resolution launching the impeachment of Jason Ravnsborg…

…unless, of course, I’m misreading HCR 6009 and missing its smartly coded warning to Noem that, when she picks the replacement for the about-to-be-impeached Jason Ravnsborg, she should appoint a nice local lawyer, not Bruce Castor or Bill Barr or some other out-of-stater.

Representatives Aylward, Otten, Perry—the Governor would like to see you in her office. This is just the sort of trivial opposition that enrages our brittle Executive.

Sending laughable ads to Minnesota agencies, sending SD GFP contracts to Florida — why does South Dakota have universities that ‘train’, ‘grant’ degrees in public relations, business, computer science? Are the purposes of South Dakota degrees to provide a pipeline of trainees for out-of-state firms, or to create and hire firms capable of providing private and state business?
Either South Dakota should support its education attempts to bloom to businesses, or divert the funds by cancelling the vain education attempts to employ scarce state funds elsewhere.

These Broadhead fellows in Minnesota did well enough for themselves, but let us not forget that many instate silver-tongued ad-Devil’s got their own big cuts of the pie. Some, even, friends of this blog.

Oh ya I forgot, Kristie is probably going to cut Jason loose now that he is getting more press coverage than she is.

The in-state silver-tongued ad-devils got way, way more than those poor Minnesota fellows who did not know what they could have asked for. Oh, those poor Minnesota fellows got took.

We should also mention the 6 million dollar contract to the folks who were from out east, to handle the Federal Cares Grant’s, mostly disaster, Timing and rules were a cluster??

  8. You mean the most successful meth awareness campaign in the history of the US, in the midst of the meth-fueled Antifa fascist violence parties at all the Opportunity Zones? :D

  9. DC, I’m still puzzled how Guidehouse really earned its money, running a confusing and ineffective distribution of federal stimulus dollars. But I guess if the plan was to make sure Kristi’s friends and donors got extra dips so they could run that money back to her campaign coffers….

Noem needs to put her “S.D. governor pants” on and do her job like a real woman. First, she needs to clean out her own house and throw out Jason and any other large pieces of dead wood standing around. Get rid of the concealed weapons, remove the detectors, take down the fence, and just get down to the business she was elected to attend to AND is getting paid for. Her job is to serve people, not throw pies in their face.

Second, Noem needs to put some weights in those “governor pants” so she doesn’t fly off like a hot air balloon. She needs to deflate that big head of hers and stay grounded for a long time. There is more work to do here in S.D. than there is in Florida, at CPAC, or where ever she wanders.

Finally, Noem needs counseling because there is something really wrong with her. Who is she representing? Why is she so immune to empathy, service, and tolerance? Why can’t she see what South Dakotans really need? I’m surrounded by Republicans and none of them are like her in any way, shape, or form. Even one of my gun lovin brothers think she’s a few bullets shy of a fully functioning ready to fire long gun. She looks good on the rack in the truck but she can’t shoot worth —-.

Noem won’t be the nominee. If you pay attention to the past several elections, each consecutive magat nominee is dozens of IQ points dumber and much richer than the previous one.

Where is the justice? Joe Boever Dies and Jason Ravnsborg is politely asked to resign.

Meanwhile, the South Dakota governor is greeting donors next week at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Palm Beach resort, according to an invitation obtained by POLITICO. The March 5 gathering, officially a fundraiser for Noem’s reelection campaign, will be hosted by Donald Trump Jr. and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle. * from Politico

It was her advertising herself for publicity that cost Sf tax payers straight from drumpf playbook
We r the fools she got exactly what she wanted it wasn’t about meth and addiction that plaques this state,
    It was about her
