Noem Flying to Florida to Festoon Fascist Festival

The ongoing coronavirus public emergency isn’t stopping Governor Kristi Noem from jetting off to Florida again to hang out with the creepiest democracy destroyers and public health menaces in America. Charlie Kirk and his Hitler Youth are staging another hate fest in Florida, this one a four-day festival of fear and loathing featuring Kristi Noem as a speaker alongside Donald Trump, Jr., Tucker Carlson, Rudy Giuliani, Dennis Prager, James O’Keefe, and other deplorables:

Noem bored this same crowd last year with tropes about Venezuelan socialism, estate tax, and empathy. I’m surprised they’d ask such a dull act back to make another stale speech. Charlie and his salivators must be asking her on stage for something other than instructive oratory.

It takes a certain kind of gall to fly my American Flag behind the Fascist face
of the Dope Queen of Delusion.
She’s got stars in her eyes and is kidding herself if she thinks the country is ready for a washed up rodeo Queen from Left Overshoe ,
    South Dakota.
And you thought Sarah Palin was a dope.

The Lew needs to stop leading COVID Kristi on like this. Nobody in four years is going to want another ignorant maniac like Trump anywhere close to the White House except for the losers and suckers at these fascist events.

for something other than instructive oratory. Perusing the other females that will be there, Noem likely projects as fresh eye candy to old wasicu magats. Her eye candy shelf life deteriorates the second she opines about anything.

I must say, I’m a bit alarmed by news articles like the one above. It is a news article, isn’t it? Maybe I’m wrong. But, it sounds more like someone’s comment to a news article – shrill, angry, hyper-partisan, etc. – than actual, factual, informative news. I had to look everything up elsewhere before I knew what the article was even about. Is this the liberal journalism of today? Really off-putting.

  5. Mark Anderson 2020-12-19 12:13

its actually a laugh fest. On our morning walk I always laugh at the lying losers who still have their trumpie gear on their lawn. I should just photograph it and turn them in since its well over a month since the election. I’ll have to look up the fine.

96, let him roll. The more audiences hear Kristi’s boring delivery, the more they’ll realize she’s an empty suit… and the sooner she’ll run out of new material.

  7. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2020-12-19 12:59

Vicky, I am angry. It is a fact that Noem is taking another Christmas vacation in Florida to speak to demonstrable liars and fascists. I find Noem’s behavior and that of her fascist followers far more off-putting than any discussion here.

While you’re looking things up, Vicky, I hope you’ll avail yourself of the links I provided to help understand just how bad Kristi’s speech was last year and just how bad the people are with whom she’s spending her latest out-of-state, off-the-job weekend.

  9. grudznick 2020-12-19 14:36

Ms. Vicky, there can be a lot of NDS exhibited here, especially on the weekends or if the Governor happens to appear somewhere young Ms. Ingraham does as well.

  10. Vicky 2020-12-19 15:50

Cory. Thanks for answering. I share your rage. If I was a prosecutor or DA, I’d charge Ms. Noem with felony reckless endangerment, manslaughter. I’ve always felt that her goal was herd immunity, even though she has not said so, as far as I know. When I tried to criticize her in the Argus Leader (Sioux Falls paper), my letters never got printed – too much snark, my own anger coming through. All I wanted from your article was factual info. You cannot assume that everybody knows who Charlie Kirk is, for example. I felt that you should have filled in a few things, that’s all. What I do find unnecessary and deeply depressing, however, is your reference to the Hitler Youth. Nazis shot my mother’s family, who now lie in a pit in the Ukraine, along with thousands of others. Those people in Florida may be misguided, ignorant bigots but, believe me, they are not Nazis or Hitler Youth. Nobody in this country should be called that.

  11. grudznick 2020-12-19 16:31

Ms. Vicky, I share your surprise at some of the references. It’s just a spin piece, driven by NDS, so I shrug it off knowing Mr. H’s heart is almost pure.

Vicky – The murderous Nazi soldiers did not start out as murderous Nazi soldiers. Hitler’s rise to power was not unlike Donald Trump’s recent attempts to rig and then overturn the election. Hitler got into office by election. Then he pulled up the ladder, changed the rules, turned up the heat on his hate rhetoric and inspired normal citizens to invade other nations pre-emptively and murder people he make into political scapegoats and people who were inconvenient. Trump failed because he is dumb, to put it simply. The crowd COVID Kristi is pandering and preening to were behind Trump’s attempt at a coup, and will do it again if given the chance. They are haters and white supremacists who cheer the flat-out lies coming from that list rogues who are speakers. Comparing them as Cory has is appropriate and accurate. These people have murder, treason and hate in their souls. They are the tip of the spear that is still active and waiting for the next opportunity. We have already seen that if they get close to gaining power again, not one Republican in Congress will lift a finger to stop them. I’m glad that Cory is using his forum to expose them. As they say at the Holocaust Museum, “never forget.”

  13. jerry 2020-12-19 19:07

Nazi soldiers came from the working class that had been beaten to a pulp by the arrogance of the western powers (wealthy elite) after World War One. Take a look at what is going on in the economy right now. Jobless and soon to be homeless are not a good start on a presidency. Coincidentally, just like Germany was before Hitler. Soon the austerity republicans will start their shrill blather about debt. We will see the same thing here if we don’t get off our rumps and support the working people of America. trump found a way to reach out with the Carrier move to Mexico. Even though trump screwed up everything else, that was a big deal and still is. Democrats should note that and to do whatever it takes to protect and project the working class people to much higher standards of wages and job security, or else, we may get a smarter trump that destroys the whole place.

  14. grudznick 2020-12-19 21:01

Being a great debator, Mr. H knows full well he invoked Godwin’s law the instant he pressed send into the bloggingsphere. He is just testing you fellows, or the NDS had really gotten to him.

“fascist festival” – I love that you’re using this kind of speech, and encourage others to have the same honesty. It’s how we can correct bad ideas.

If, for instance, some knucklehead took this as truth and did something really bad at the event thinking he was a hero (the Kenosha Kid notwithstanding – there will be no looting by conservatives at the event in FL), it could create some liability.

I think Trump has fallen victim to the same kind of unsubstantiated criticisms that wasted a lot of time and money trying to persecute an individual instead of building a better, more American focused platform.

So, there is a party opposing “Making America Great”. You don’t want to make America great? Why would you not want to make America Great? We might disagree on how to do that, but the general principal was such a vivid distinguishing factor that millions of fraudulent ballots were needed to steal the election.

So, it’s a sensational headline in need of some kind of factual scrutiny.

Amazing times to be alive – at this moment, we’re seeing surgical exploitation of the legal system from many actors large and small.

Now is not the time for Noem to travel at all. She is the elected public servant of this state who has the responsibility for EVERYONE…not just Republicans, big ag, tourists, etc. Her job is in SD not the other 49 states. Noem can mingle with who she wants but not on our dime. She needs to be here where over 1300 people have passed. Life is not worth much in this country anymore, and more so in SD where Noem invites the grim reaper to come help with herd immunity. There’s a horrible once in a life time pandemic happening and where will she be when 1000 fishermen descend on Mobridge for a stupid fishing tournament in early January?

The far right individuals pictured above have no compassion, empathy, or even concern for anyone that is not like them. I use the term Nazi for Trump, Noem and her kind because their ideology categorizes society into the chosen, the useful, and the nonhuman. Four more years of Trump and worse actions concerning human rights would have been taken. For example, caging and separating children from U.S. citizens who are of color and live in poverty; sending vaccines to red states first, punishing blue states by holding back stimulus money, jailing political enemies, and destroying Medicare and Social Security. On and on.

Vicky, headlines today confirm that the likes of those above and their man in office invite violence on January 6 in Washington, DC, electoral college day. There are individuals, small unorganized gangs, large organized groups waiting to use their ammo to fight the deep state and they are being called to action. They drank the Kool aide a long time ago and they have amassed a great deal of weaponry. These domestic terrorists have been overlooked by the general population because of their gender and whiteness however they’ve been studied by specialists for decades. All they needed was a national voice….

An analysis by The New York Times shows that the conservative imprint President Trump has left on the federal courts is only deepening. “We’ve seen a huge conservative shift. A lot of these judges are very young, and they’ll be there for a long time—
Published opinions from the nation’s appeals courts this year show that Trump appointees stand out from other judges, even those named by other Republican presidents.“

One more thing Vicky since you like research. Check out Stephen Miller, Trump’s senior advisor for policy and try to digest his ideology. Then complete a Venn Diagram comparing/contrasting him to any other garden variety fascist.

South Dakota magats are like the US Sinate magats in failing to do their duty and rein in out of control execs who were elected to do a job which they refuse to devote their attentions to.

Vicky, I stand by my characterization. Charlie Kirk leads young people to follow brutish dictator who would use force to overthrow democracy. His ammo-hoarding Proud Boy followers have demonstrated their willingness to use violence against their enemies. We should give them no quarter in public discourse.

  22. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2020-12-20 08:25

While we debate language, Kristi Noem abdicates her responsibilities to support a fascist dictator and ride his coattails to build her own cult of personality.

  23. Norma Wilson 2020-12-20 09:27

Kristi Noem surrounds herself with mean and selfish people. Thank you, Cory, for helping South Dakotans to see her for what she is.

According to Robert Paxton, professor of European History at Columbia, fascism arrives in stages:

Stages in the rise of successful fascist movements such as in Mussolini’s Italy and Hitler’s Germany

    1. Initial creation of fascism movements combining doctrine, discontent, and growing numbers of adherents.
    2. Rooting of the movement as a regular political party in the country’s political system.
    3. Acquisition of power. Mussolini in 1921; Hitler in 1933
    4. Exercise of power: among other things, the elimination of competing political parties or organizations such as labor unions, and the “winning over” of the armed forces.
    5. Radicalization and degeneration, fragmentation, fall. Example in Nazi Germany, the growing restrictions on Jew, the appropriation of their property, and the destruction of the civil rights and “state citizenship.” Defeat in World War II.

Stage 1 occurred during the 2008 financial crisis. The Left critiqued the system via Occupy Wall Street. Occupy was crushed by law enforcement. The Right critiqued the system via Tea Party. This critique was allowed to advance and proved successful for the next stage of fascism.
Stage 2 occurred when Trump took over the Republican Party. Consider the failure of prior establishment Republicans. I think the Iraq War debacle set the stage for Trumps victory.
Stage 3 occurred when Trump defeated ed the establishment Democratic candidate.
Stage 4 didn’t happen. Trump failed to expand his power. He tried but luckily he was incompetent. However, he did weaken existing institutions.
So now we are back to Stage 1 and our criminal governor is “combining doctrine, discontent, and growing numbers of adherents.”
In my opinion, we are at another critical moment. We need a movement to challenge fascism at a material level. We need a movement that provides a decent standard of living for every human that lives in our country. We need a truly Leftist movement that can get us to a social democracy. If we fail to meet the material needs of the people, then we allow space for Noem and other fascists to platform their hatred for the other. Let’s build this movement before it is too late.

John Dale, I’d like to see a few bullet points that outline how you would “Make America Great Again.”

  26. jerry 2020-12-20 10:20

John Dale will not get his answers from Fox News these days. The three amigos of lies and distortion got neutered.

“New York (CNN)If President Trump tunes into Fox News this weekend, he may see something unexpected: a point-by-point fact-check to wild election fraud claims made by some of his favorite hosts on the network.

After voting technology company Smartmatic sent Fox News a blistering legal threat that accused the network of participating in a “disinformation campaign” against it, the network has started airing a remarkable news package debunking claims its hosts and guests have propagated.
The package aired for the first time Friday night on Lou Dobbs’ show. Fox News said the same package would air Saturday night on Jeanine Pirro’s program as well as Sunday morning on Maria Bartiromo’s show. All three hosts, who use their platforms to air pro-Trump propaganda, are close with the President.” https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/19/business/fox-smartmatic-news-package/index.html

I think we would all like to see America finally live up to it’s ideals that were spelled out in the Constitution, that would Make America Great Again. Until then, we all live in the dark shadow of what those words meant as a free people. Free to some is not free to all.
