Noem Ignoring Suffering of South Dakota Moms under Unchecked Pandemic

Governor Kristi Noem tells a tale about some unnamed single mom from some other state who is suffering under her state’s coronavirus lockdown.

South Dakota mom Kelsea Kenzy Sutton tells the Governor she should talk to real moms in this state, the one she’s supposed to be governing, to set her policy agenda:

I know that looking at the real needs of the real South Dakotans whom she was elected to serve isn’t nearly as fun as jetting around the country to visit adoring crowds of Trumpsters who tell her how they’d love to have her governing their state. But you know, Kristi, some of us might like it if you governed our state.

I would prefer Noem leave and stay away. Resign, take a Trump job, be a commentator for FOX, an anorexic rodeo clown, whatever, just leave and turn the keys over to someone else.

I support Governor Noem. We have many business here in Watertown that are limiting hours since they can not find help. Jobs are available.

Lock down states are mostly run by Democrats. LockdownsWhich have done nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Creates hardship for The Who can afford it the least

I amazes me the number of time people from other states tell me “I wish we had your Governor”
    .

I have to disagree, Sam. I live in Wisconsin. We locked down, and kept the virus in check. Then Republicans began their monkeywrenching, anti-science crusades, demanding in-person voting during the primary, refusing to pass necessary legislation to attack the virus, etc. Cases spiked. Then our science-first governor applied a mask mandate in defiance of the anti-life Republicans. Cases leveled off and went down. Then schools and universities opened, and we’re in a spike again.

It’s clear that social distancing measures and masks work.

I wish they had her as well and her widdle pony.

Speaking of “out of state” comments, you can write to Thune or Rounds and all you get in return is a list of Mitch McConnell’s talking points. BTW, Sam, it may just be a coincidence, but the states run by Democrats locked down because that is where the people are. Could have really run the numbers up in NY with Donald/Kristi’s “herd mentality.” ;-) I agree with Jerry, anyone who wants her can have her!

Loren, here is Dakota’s own sinator Marlboro Barbie Thune being clewless why Dems are planning to make his and McCTurtle’s lives as miserable as Senate protocol allows.

“Right now I think they’re just trying to throw a wrench into anything we do,” Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) told reporters. “Obviously it’s retribution for the decision on the court, and they just want to be difficult. I don’t know why. It doesn’t make sense to me either to bring everybody back next week when we could finish this today.”

I wish Kelsea’s husband were governor.

    Btw Sam,

Those locked down democratic states fund the state of south dakotas federal tax subsidy deficit. Have for years. Get real. SD repubs act ‘independent and free’ with the states hand out to federal taxpayers every year.

It amazes me the number of times people have asked me ‘whats wrong with your governor’?’

It doesn’t amaze me the number of times I hear people plead for a governor like mine. Gov. Walz cares about Minnesotans and will even risk his political future to follow the medical advice of the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota Medical School.

For any South Dakotans who have treated life threatening medical conditions at the Mayo because you know they provide the best medical care in the country, perhaps the world, and you trust them? They’re the exact same people telling Gov. Walz the best way to treat Covid-19 is with masks, social distancing, testing and contact tracing.

They’ve told your Gov. Noem and the president the same for your protection, but you know how they responded. If Kruel Kristi developed some kind of dangerous cancer and went to Mayo for treatment for herself, do you think she’d ignore their recommendations? Yet when it comes to her SD constituents she shrugs her shoulders and jets off to campaign for trump. I guess you know where you rank in your governor’s priorities.

COVID Kristi has had three choices to act as Governor to 860,000 constituents:

The Good. Requiring masks in public, enforce the six-foot rule, limit crowd sizes and encourage frequent handwashing.

The Bad. Shut down all public functions, close nonessential businesses, limit travel and require testing and tracing.

The Ugly. Gaslight the public to create the false premise that COVID won’t hurt them (much) and distract attention from the facts.

COVID Kristi chose The Ugly. And with the Mt. Rushmore ego trip, the Sturgis fiasco and ignoring masks and basic social distancing while ramming kids back to public schools and universities, the worst that could happen is now happening. The Profane.

To pour salt in the wounds of all South Dakotans, COVID Kristi gets cute to the camera with a cheeky pheasant hunting clip on a pay-to-hunt chicken ranch.

I’m convinced. COVID Kristi and Trump must really hate everybody.

drumpf and Noem Nothing are ignoring the pandemic in the pandemic, as well.

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/military-suicides-increase-coronavirus-pandemic/

Military suicides up 20% during pandemic. What has been said by either alleged leader? Not a damn thing!

One other rant, if you please… drumpf has not spent much to replenish supplies of masks and ventilators, etc. Instead, those funds are given to the pentagon to buy stuff. I will look for the link I read a few days ago and post it.

I posted a link to this story to FB and got a comment from friends in Nepal that their government was also disregardful of public health concerns in favor of economic ones.

A quick lookup of the basic data for comparison: Nepal has a population of nearly 30MM. SD about 1MM. Nepal has about 1000 daily cases of Covid-19 currently. SD about 500.

SD is 15X times WORSE at dealing with this pandemic disease as “third world backward” Nepal.

Or we could say that the “Christian” approach results in 15 times the misery and suffering as the Buddhist.

On the other hand, we are only doing about 8X worse to my other 2nd home – Ecuador.

Seriously – can we say we are struggling to do as well as a “third world” nation here?

I just want to see the weekly WH Task Force Reports.

  14. Scott 2020-09-28 20:41

Debbo, where is Mrs Rounds getting her medical care? Minesota of course. Mayo Clinic.

  15. Debbo 2020-09-28 20:50

Exactly. That’s where Jerklow was treated too.

“Masks in short supply as COVID-19 and fires sweep US West Coast” Reads the headline so even with all the dummy’s not wearing masks, we’re still short after all these months. No idea if the plant in Aberdeen is cranking them out in their expanded digs or if they are still trying to do that,
