Cartoonist Jo Johnson gets her pay data from this 2018 GoBankingRates.com post. The American Association of University Women finds that, based on 2018 median annual earnings, South Dakota women made 79% of what men made, ranking us 40th nationwide. Minnesota ranks 18th with a lady/fella median wage ratio of 83%; first-place California and second-place New York still pay women only 88% of what they pay men.
But hey, at least Governor Noem is working to raise the pay for her personal staff and her closest loved ones. She’s paying her daughter Kennedy 98% of what she pays her son-in-law Kyle Peters.
The stupid lawsuit against the ERA is just that, stupid. Any of the prejudicial “isms” are a good excuse for exactly nothing.
