Trump Braking Economy; Millennials Could Save Us

Senator Marion Michael Rounds shares the willful delusion of deflective Trumpists across South Dakota that his Trump Party has “pro-growth policies” that “continue to provide more jobs and opportunities for American workers.”

Quite the opposite is true: the economy has grown despite Trump’s policies and would be growing more without his volatile and reckless mood swings in the White House:

U.S. economic growth has been slowing this year with many economists citing the ongoing U.S.-China trade war. The Fed expects GDP (gross domestic product) for 2019 to come in at 2.2%, down from 2.9% in 2018. The central bank has also warned U.S. economic growth could deteriorate if the trade war continues [Sam Meredith, “Millennials Are About to Trigger a Massive ‘Changeover Point’ for the US Economy, Asset Manager Says,” CNBC, 2019.10.14].

But don’t worry: replacing Trump, Rounds, and their fellow Baby Boomers with millennials are about to save the economy and the social safety net:

“So, we have got 89 million people in between 21 and 38 years old that are about to start their lives, form households, do incredibly economically impactful things and we don’t need anybody from outside the United States to cause that to happen.”

“And we are giving them the lowest interest rates in the history of the United States of America to form their lives. We are practically giving them the money to buy houses and buy cars etc,” [Smead Capital Management CEO Bill Smead] added.

…“Just do the math, there’s 89 million millennials in a 330 million population of the United States of America. And then the group behind them — this is crazy — is just as big.”

“In 20 years, there is going to be way more payers into the social security system and there is going to be way fewer taker-outers — and that problem will solve itself through demographics,” Smead said [Meredith, 2019.10.14].

Barack Obama got us out of the recession; demographics will continue our economic momentum. Now if we can just replace Trump with someone who doesn’t view past economic success and current good fortune as an excuse to vandalize the global economy. Millennials, do get out and buy those houses and cars, if you’re inclined to tie yourself down with more material goods. But boost yours and everyone else’s economic fortunes faster by telling your Congresspeople and Senators to impeach the menace in the White House, and then get out and vote en masse next year for a grown-up to lead the country.

As usual, the Democrats will be given the chore of repairing the damage done politically, economically, diplomatically and militarily that the republicans have managed to accomplish. ….. and receive no credit or thanks (as usual).

Chubby puts sanctions on a Turkey after he gave the go ahead for the Turkey to invade Syria. Republicans are back at the table once again to show the world incompetence. Democrats will need to do some heavy lifting to get the stench off the hide of American exceptionalism. The loser party republicans can just fade away for the next couple of decades while Democrats shore up the trade and the good will we had before Chubby and his outlaw gang that includes our little gang of misfits here, led by EB5 Rounds, Stretch and Dirty.

Bloomberg News says “the Recession Train has left the station” and whatever kind of gimmickry Economic Oaf comes up with isn’t going to help.

“And there’s no indication China and the U.S. are anywhere near a comprehensive trade deal, writes David Fickling. If anything, the sides seem to be growing further apart. Expect more gut-wrenching dips.”

The media must do a much better job breaking down the complexity of issues requiring votes to prevent the nation from going the way of SD GOP as it continues to sell out government to capitalists like the LRC code revisers article Corey alerts us to. We need Democrats (law training would be nice) in the legislature. Imagine a Randy Seiler, Tatawin Means and Judge Bjorkman in office.

“Elevate Rapid City”- really? What is happening in the Republican controlled legislature is happening in the big municipalities in SD. A rush while Trump still hangs onto power.
