Thune Campaigns on Popular Rule While Elitist SDGOP Undermines Real Direct Democracy

KELO Radio notes that Senator John Thune is asking for money with a pitch that runs counter to how South Dakota Republicans are governing:

But I need help from conservatives like you. You understand how disastrous it would be to let the Pelosi liberals impose their vision on America. Instead of “the people” ruling, we’d be ruled by a tiny group of left-wing bureaucrats, reporters, wealthy donors, and special interest groups [Sen. John Thune, fundraising letter, quoted in Todd Epp, “First S.D. Democrats, Now Sen. Thune Wants Some Money for 2020,” KELO Radio, 2019.06.20].

Funny to hear a South Dakota Republican talk about “the people ruling” when his party, in South Dakota and across the nation, has worked diligently to erode the people’s ability to rule via initiative and referendum and ensure that only a tiny group of Legislative club members and lobbyists make all the decisions.

But like his counterparts in the Legislature, Thune doesn’t want his base to think about actual policy. He depends on his people shutting off their brains and responding reflexively to his objectifying labels and slogans.

Marlboro Barbie rears its ugly head and opines, Drumpf wingnuts impose their vision on America. Instead of “the people” ruling, we’d be ruled by a tiny group of far right-wing bureaucrats, Fake Noize reporters, wealthy donors, and special interest groups .

I corrected the message so Thune doesn’t look so foolish.

Does this freaking idiot have a mirror? How long have he and Mitch been holding up legislation that even HIS party deems ok? Does the name Merrick Garland ring any bells? It’s getting really difficult to express my “love” for our SD delegation on a family forum. !@#%&*!

This is why Trump got elected. He’s an outsider to the neocon establishment like Kennedy was an outsider to the neolib establishment (trivia question/answer: neolib = neocon). The consternation happening in DC right now is what is looks like when a President actually tries. The neoX establishment hates it when someone challenges their entrenched “easy money” revenues.

Putin. RussiaN Interference. Drumpf lying about HRC. This is why we are stuck with a pathological lying mow rawn in business to enrich himself and his businesses.

Steers have tried harder than Drumpf.

“Steers have tried harder than Drumpf.” ROFL!

Thune’s message is typical GOP-speak straight out of “1984.” It’s whatever comes out of Wilted Weenie’s mouth, Chinless Wonder McTurtle’s, Al Nostrap’s, Ad Nauseam’s, John Dale’s, etc. The Greedy Oligarchs Party is the Party of Lies, writ large across the sky. Never, ever believe a word they say. Ever.

BTW, compared to the real vast right wing conspiracy, this is an accurate description of liberals/progressives:
“tiny group of left-wing bureaucrats, reporters, wealthy donors, and special interest groups.”

Yes indeed, a tiny group. Overall, they outnumber the Wrong, but the Left is never as well organized. That’s because the Left is, by definition, independent thinkers and questioners who are not given to following orders or doing as they’re told. The Left will never blindly devote themselves to any politician, believing she carries the magic wand. Nor will we unblinkingly believe what we hear. Questioning and doubting and requiring proof is in our DNA.

“Liberal/progressive” and “sheeple” do not fit in the same sentence. It’s the Wrong who are allowing themselves to be led around by the nose without argument.

Thune is Major Reno to trump’s Custer, who are both leading America to it’s own Little Big Horn once again. June 25, 1876 was Custer’s day, when will these two be remembered for their day, looks like soon?

“only three House lawmakers — Reps. Val Demings (D-FL), Eric Swalwell (D-CA), and John Ratcliffe (R-TX) — have access to the underlying evidence of both volumes of the Mueller report.

“That’s because, as Politico explained, they are the only lawmakers who sit on both the House Intelligence Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. The Intelligence Committee has access to the records underlying Volume I of the report — the material focused on an investigation Russian interference in the 2016 election and the possibility of a conspiracy (which was not established) with members or associates of the Trump campaign. The Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over Volume II, which documents Trump’s efforts to interfere with the investigation, which could constitute criminal obstruction of justice.”

So they need to release it to all the House. Will that change Thune’s Tune? Doubt it. He’s a devoted and empty headed follower who’s never let thinking get in his way.

Yeah, Pelosi’s vision’ like extortion, kidnapping and hostage taking is wrong! Try her out as your mentor Thune. McConnell has no balls and no morals.
