A Libertarian candidate for Legislature weighs in on my side against Amendment Y! Daryl Root from Clear Lake, who’s running for District 4 House, says Marsy’s Fix is bogus:
I’m heartened that Root can see the bushwah behind the Y-backers’ propaganda that I’ve been pointing out all along: Marsy’s Fix doesn’t protect or strengthen crime victims’ rights. It limits the scope of the crime victims bill of rights that their California sponsor bought onto the ballot in 2016. Y-backers can’t admit that their whole crime victims’ bill of rights is really a legal failure that costs counties money, hurts crime victims, and simply serves as a California billionaire’s vanity project to defile everyone’s Constitution.
I’m with you, Daryl! Vote NO on Y. But Root and I may part ways on the next step: while his comment suggests he likes Marsy’s Law as is, I say we need to elect legislators like me who will vote to put full repeal of Marsy’s Flaw on the ballot ASAP.
Libertarians, whey they aren’t all toked up on the demon weed, are often on the right side of thinking. Isn’t that Mr. Seiler fellow all in favor of the Amendment lettered as “Y”?
So SD’s got Marsey’s Flaw and now Marsey’s-In-A-Fix. Nope to both.
Mr. Seiler makes a lot of sense on this regard. At Talleys this morning there will be debates on Marsy’s old law and Marsy’s new law.
