The Sioux Falls Democratic Forum gets a boost from the sponsor column to a full post because they are hosting a special event worth broader attention. This Wednesday (tomorrow!) at 6 p.m., the Democratic Forum is hosting a fundraising celebration of John F. Kennedy, who was born 101 years ago (100 years and 51 weeks, actually: his birthday is May 29, but scheduling…).
But Wednesday’s event won’t just be for celebrating history. Democratic Forum organizer Tom Cool tells me they’ll also have our aspiring history-makers in attendance. Four Democratic candidates—Tim Bjorkman for U.S. House, Billie Sutton for Governor, and Tatewin Means and Randy Seiler for Attorney General—are all on the guest list. Watch for Means and Seiler to be working extra hard—convention is less than four weeks away, and county parties are picking the delegates who will choose our AG nominee right now!
Tickets for the event are $25 at the door. The proceeds will support Sioux Falls Democratic Forum and its efforts to promote democracy and Democratic candidates—that’s redundant, of course, but bears emphasis: promoting democracy is what we democrats are all about.
…it is the business of every citizen of the United States to make a judgment about what kind of a House of Representatives we are going to have, and what kind of a Senate we are going to have, and what kind of a Governor we are going to have in this state and all the other states of the Union [President John F. Kennedy, remarks to campaign rally, Monessen, Pennsylvania, 1962.10.13].
Does the Forum have information about this online anywhere? How the heck are people supposed to know about it unless you go to Forum already?
Is it deliberately a secret?
Thanks,
Not deliberately a secret, but I’m afraid that ads on this blog and South DaCola are the SF Democratic Forum’s only regular online presence.
But now you know—spread the word! :-)
Come on Tom, get with it!! ;)

Heh, heh, heh. Good one Cory. It would be nice if the GOP was about democracy too, rather than kakhistocracy/kleptocracy/oligarchy/treason. 😁
The GOP does appear to promote expanded political-science vocabulary!
