Ron Branstner’s fact-averse Trumpist followers here in Aberdeen threatened the throw me out of their first hate rally in here in Aberdeen when I tried to explain how Branstner was misrepresenting my blog and the facts presented herein. They again physically threatened me and tried to prevent my reporting on another of their dreary hate rallies last December.
Since city policeman and candidate for sheriff Dan Kaiser promotes their propaganda sessions as “educational” and peddles hateful myths he learns there (like the disgusting implication that Muslims are pedophiles) and Sheriff Mark Milbrandt does not, the Branstnerites are happy to promote Kaiser and attack Milbrandt on their anonymous Facebook page… and they are happy to use my material to do it:
To be clear, I simply reported fact: in 2016, following a complaint by Dan Kaiser’s wife, former DCI agent Laura Zylstra Kaiser, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission found “reasonable cause to believe” that Milbrandt’s sheriff’s office discriminated against Zylstra Kaiser “in retaliation for filing a Charge of Discrimination when she was denied hire into a position she was fully qualified for in violation of Title VII.” But now my factual report is included among the local Klan’s efforts to install their preferred fellow-traveling candidate for sheriff, efforts which include reposting the South Dakota Gun Owners’ sleazy flyer claiming Sheriff Milbrandt is coming for your guns and boosting the local paper’s report on the lawsuit over Sarah Circle Bear’s death in the Brown County jail in 2015.
Remind me to bring this citation up the next time the Muslim haters try to grab my camera… but let’s hope this citation doesn’t get me flagged along with them by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Milbrandt is promoting my analysis of Wednesday’s candidate’s forum:
I suppose I can take some minimal pleasure in seeing people on both sides of the Brown County sheriff’s race recognizing Dakota Free Press as a legitimate source of news and analysis.
It is unfortunate that Brown County republicans only have the choice of the lesser of two evils.
The irony of the two campaigns using the liberal Dakota Free Press in their campaign materials is probably lost on them
Cory,
It’s not factual when you called it a hate rally. That’s just your opinion.
Cory,
As I have told you before, there is a difference between hating Muslims and hating the Muslim religion.
Jason, I told you before, it is just your opinion it wasn’t a hate rally.
What’s the factual difference between hating Muslims and hating the Muslim religion? Who, besides Muslims, practice Muslim religion?
And why are you so intent on providing cover for haters?
Mike,
There is a difference between hating catholics and hating the catholic religion.
Not everyone, of course, is as finicky a hater as Jason, if we accept his statement above at face value, but history is not on his side. It certainly is the history of such hate campaigns that, while it may start out with this mask of some intellectual separation between a particular religion or race or ethnic group and the particular individuals in those groups, such intellectual separation never holds, if it wasn’t simply a ruse in the first place. The people creating these intellectual arguments about one religion or group or race generally are, underneath, simply racists and bigots looking for a reason to hate.
Hitler’s anti-Jewish theories were hate and prejudice looking for an intellectual cloak. Really, that’s what I see from the South Dakota haters. But we’ve got some history right here in South Dakota. It’s not as if hate isn’t as South Dakotan as nuclear waste dumps on a Republican wish list.
Anti-Indian hate certainly included much theory about “manifest destiny,” savage religions, and inferior people and cultures. Today that often boils down to screeching about “socialism” and “special rights.” That, and settlers being scared after appropriating others’ resources, seemed to be the motivating factors for much of Indian policy.
But even some white folks came under suspicion, because they prayed a little differently, apparently. When the Ku Klux Klan was marching in Rapid City in the 1920s, the Klan was against Catholicism and the rights of those who subscribed to that religion. It didn’t get as far as outright terrorism, but name-calling and fighting and telling someone they can’t get a job because of their religion is often just as effective as terrorism. And, of course, Jews have been victims of this sort of hate as well in South Dakota.
So, no, Jason, there is no separation that matters between hateful theories, hate-filled ranting, attempts to intimidate, threaten and hurt people because of their race, ethnicity or religion. History teaches us that hate leads inevitably to more hate.
Jason and his other personna’s think ISIS are Muslims. They’re not. Because ISIS throws people off roofs he thinks Muslims hate him.
These haters aren’t singling out individual Muslims. They are attacking them all as being terrorists.
How did this become about Catholics?
Exactly, MFI. It’s about generalizing an ostracized group and conflating/blending them with real Muslims.
~ God has segregated and isolated fundamentalist Muslims, fundamentalist Christians, fundamentalist Jews and fundamentalist Americans from the decent members of those groups. These detached categories have given themselves new titles and labels which “self-separate” their thinking from the mainstream.
ISIS, evangelicals, Sephardics and patriots are NOT Muslims, Christians, Jews and Americans by the standard definition and they aren’t accepted by the majority of those faiths and groups. Conflating and judging these outcast groups with the true religions and the true religious doctrines is a sinful false narrative.
Isn’t there a song titled “Send in the Trolls?”
Muslims, Jews, Blacks, Indians and especially Catholic Mexicans, to name a few, have been victimized by Russian trolls that rear their ugly heads without worry here. In Europe, the governments there recognize the threat and have taken steps to minimize the damage that was inflicted with Brexit and other elections. Here is the main paper in Spain reporting on this and how it worked in elections there. https://elpais.com/elpais/2018/05/11/inenglish/1526039604_758778.html
If only Catholic Mexicans and Muslims and Jews, could do a religious shuffle and combine those religions with Southern Baptists/Protestants, then republican haters would be able to target their real enemy, women.
Jason, don’t worry about it and I know you don’t. You attack the topic and they attack the person. I’m not allowed to respond directly against them. Stick with the topic or you get chastised by Cory while the lemmings keep attacking. I guess most of them are just bullies that aren’t used to being slapped back on their ass. I suspect mostly because they email and cry behind the scenes because I said hurtful things I am sorry about.
Yesterday my posts had a message above them telling me they would not be posted without approval of the moderator. The message is not there today. Maybe I’m out of poster censure jail?
Happy Mother’s Day all!
OldSnickers is right, Jason. He admires the way you slide in and move the goalposts to fit yer agenda and wishes he could only do that half as well.
(Oh, quit your crying, OldSarg. You were never personally targeted. The one comment in question had several links. My filter automatically intercepts multiple-link comments to check for spam.)
Jason, as Mike suggests, it is not factual when you called my statement of fact an opinion. That’s just your opinion.
It is apparently the opinion of both the Muslim-haters and Sheriff Milbrandt that Dakota Free Press is a reliable source. By Jason’s thinking, those people’s statements are just opinions and should be ignored in favor of whatever beliefs we prefer. But that’s just my opinion about Jason’s opinion about the xenophobes’ opinion about my opinion, so there’s really no point in anyone’s talking to anyone in Jason’s world.
The next thing Jason says is just Jason’s opinion. In his opinion, you should ignore it.
Cory,
Of course people are going to use this site if your opinion backs up their opinion.
To make your opinion that they hate all Muslim people a fact, I am going to need some evidence.
You of course don’t have to give me any. That’s your choice.
Mike wrote: They are attacking them all as being terrorists.
Let’s see some evidence Mike?
Of course Sarge and Jason know what each other’s thinking. They’re the same person with two different internet connections.
What would be the point of giving you definitive proof, Jason. Your next post would be something along the lines of , I don’t like green eggs and ham. That’s a fact.
All you do is make accusations and move the original goal posts where ever your whimsy takes you. I am not playing your game.
Crickets, JaSar? Should I give the name of who you really are? I won’t, because you might commit suicide. Continue the game. I’ll watch.
Porter, are you really so bent?
How’s the weather in Missouri?
Maybe if corporate America quit arming everyone with war machines, they would stop killing. Then we could be buddies to stop the hate. Of course, that would be bad for our business model.
trump shows how to get things done…Not only to Make Russia Great Again, but to also Make China Great Again… “President Trump said he is working to save jobs at the Chinese electronics giant ZTE. The firm had ended major operations over U.S. sanctions.
Sunday, May 13, 2018 12:44 PM EST
President Trump said on Twitter that he was working with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to prevent the collapse of the Chinese electronics giant ZTE.
“Too many jobs in China lost,” Mr. Trump wrote. “Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!””
Ladies and Gents, how do you like them apples? Too many jobs are being lost in China now so give your job up, you slackers. Vote for the Red Wave comrades! Oh, and keep the hate going for the Muslims, it will make you feel better while you are unemployed…
“There is a difference in hating Catholics and hating the Catholic religion”.
Can someone explain to me what the hell that is supposed to mean?
Doesn’t matter here, Roger, because the folks behind the AF,TF very specifically hate the people in this community who don’t conform to their vision of White America. This contempt is shown in the fact that AF,TF does not seek real education about the real people living next door; instead they import strangers from elsewhere to tell them that Muslims are evil pedophiles and thus to relieve them of the challenge of getting to know their neighbors as real human beings. They objectify the strangers in their midst, which is another form of loathing.
Hate rallies, pure and simple. Muslim-haters, pure and simple.
When the facts I report get in their way, they shout mad conspiracy theories and vulgar epithets. When the facts I report support their chosen views, they freely share my reporting. Add hypocrites, pure and simple.
A cousin of hate is fear, these haters love to live in fear when it would enrich their lives to get to know their neighbors.
I don’t believe in the tenets of most religions, including Islam, but that is hardly justification to hate any of them.
The hate and fear Trump spreads everyday does and will have consequences. For the past two weeks or longer, fearful white people have called cops on Native Americans and Blacks for the stupidest of reasons, being black or brown.
From a black graduate at Yale that took a nap in the student union, blacks barbequing at a public park to the Native American students jerked from a college tour because some racist woman was made nervous by their presence.
Trump and groups like AF and TF encourage and embolden haters to commit criminal and civil laws that they will have to answer for.
Beyond the brilliant minds of South Dakota there is Trevor Phillips – former head of the Equality and Human Rights Commission of Britain who has an “increasing frustration with the conviction that if we can only control the expression of ideas, we will all be able to live together in peace and harmony.”
“Well I think it would be fair to say that I made a big mistake,” he says now (in regards to communities within communities). “It was a clear statement that some groups can play by their own rules. That to me runs counter to my own political beliefs. Why I am still a supporter of the Labour party is because I believe fundamentally in solidarity and reciprocity, and I think most on the left have forgotten both of those things.”
He now believes in a core of Britishness.

One of the most confusing things about people who behave like a——s is that when you tell them that they are behaving like one, they get upset and demand to know why you want to silence their opinion. I don’t, dude. Speak all you want. The law allows you to do so. It also allows me to let you know that you’re an a—–e.
This is islam in the United States who Porter defends:
“The man is in charge of the woman. He is the head of her, the owner of her, and the ruler, and he is the one who corrects her when she goes astray. That is because men are better than women. ~ Muhammad Sayyed Adly https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8&v=fZ7ACAHVkao
OldSarge just described what the republican party thinks of women, with the one exception that republican men also want to write the laws and make decisions for women’s health.
Islam and republicans are basically the same when it comes to women.
Sarge is blending fundamentalist Islam with mainstream Islam. As I noted, fundamentalist Muslims, Christians, Jews and Americans aren’t real parts of the institutions they claim to be.
For goodness sake read the article on Trevor Phillips. Is it possible the former chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission knows more than you do?
Trevor Phillips is a hack and has been discredited for his false assertions.
-The charge against Trevor Phillips, chairman of the equality and human rights commission, is made in a new book that also condemns him for propagating myths that Britain is blighted by race ghettos and threatened by extremism fostered in isolated Muslim communities.
-The book, Sleepwalking to Segregation, by two Manchester University academics, says there is no statistical evidence of “white flight” from inner-city areas with high numbers of minority ethnic residents.
-Official statistics reviewed by the authors show white people are, in fact, moving into certain inner-city areas with large ethnic minority populations, such as Leicester, Bradford, Lambeth, Wolverhampton, Wycombe, Manchester and Merton.
-The book warns that repeated falsehoods about immigration, integration and segregation are promoting racial division.

Oblivious to reality Porter keeps posting.
Tomorrow begins the month of daylight fasting (even no water) called Ramadan, Sgt. Sybil. Here’s how the faithful prepare for a long day of chopping off heads and planting IED’s.

How did Muslim haters not see this and rejoice?

The Scotus DID not ban Sharia Law.
Someone like Trevor Phillips who grew up with the minority status of a black man in England and became a policy maker but later in life began to question his earlier beliefs is at least worth a listen – he lived it – which should hold more value than our theoretical considerations in my opinion.
