Parkston Pastor Preaches John Birch Bushwah, Runs for District 19 House

From some folks’ perspective, District 19 is bad enough for sending Senator Stace Nelson (R-19/Fulton) to Pierre. Now it may send an honest-to-goodness Bircher to wreak even more right-wing extremism in the House.

Baptist Pastor Michael Boyle announced his candidacy last week. The Parkston pastor moved to South Dakota in 2013 from Montana, where he was state field director for the radical John Birch Society. Boyle continues to push John Birch propaganda on his public Facebook page.

Boyle enjoys spreading paranoia about the anti-fascist movement—and hey, if you are anti-anti-fascist, doesn’t that mean you’re at least kinda fascist? On September 30, Boyle joined in the widespread alt-right rumormongering that “Antifa” was going to start a communist revolution on November 4. To spread this false rumor, Boyle an article from the John Birch Society’s New American:

Michael Boyle, Facebook, 2017.09.30.
Michael Boyle, Facebook, 2017.09.30.

How did I miss that revolution? Oh yeah, because it was just more John Birch tinfoil-hattery.

Boyle supports Donald Trump (alas, another evangelical ignoring the failure of Trump to model any Christian principles for our children) and promotes anti-science posts denying evolution and the Big Bang. Just what we need in Pierre—more fact-free, conspiracy-preaching legislators raising false fears to get votes and reinforce their failing worldviews.

Boyle has until March 27 to submit his nominating petition. No one from District 19 has filed yet. District 19’s House seats are currently held by relatively mild-mannered follow-the-leader Republicans Kent Peterson and Kyle Schoenfish. Neither incumbent is term-limited, but I’ve heard that at least one of them may not be seek reëlection.

No wonder the Vikngs got rick-rolled last night.

The Bircher’s I have known have been passionate anti-communist and paranoid to the point where they saw a communist behind every tree and under every bed.
Boyle might just be the guy to lead the charge against the growing Neo-Nazi’s that are infiltrating our colleges and universities.

  3. Nah, Roger, I’m afraid he’ll fit right in with Tapio and the anti-Muslim speakers who come here shouting about the “Red-Green Axis” of Communists and the Muslim Brotherhood. Do the Birchers have any record of resisting neo-Nazis?

  4. Jerry, I’m sad for you, spending all your time immersed in anti-Semitism, white supremacist propaganda, and misinformation. You could at least serve society by not spreading such garbage to others.

Jerry’s link claims the John Birch Society is controlled by the Jews. Oliver said the holocaust was a hoax put up by the Jews, and his rabid anti-Semitism made him a hero to white supremacists. William F. Buckley kicked him off the pages of National Review.

But the Birch Society’s break with Oliver in 1966 doesn’t mean we can count on Birchers like Boyle to legislate well.

  5. I thought Revilo getting thrown out of the Birchers would be in Boyle’s favor.

Fool me once shame on you; but if I get fooled twice that is my choice.

There is a farmer near Doon Iowa who has first hand knowledge of the USS Liberty. Untill I get the “all clear” from him, I will be a Zionist resister.

There are some local people who think Worthington MN’s only claim to a cultural icon –Amelia Earhart — made it to wikipedia greatest misses.

    thanks,

  6. You don’t get points for sending us anti-Semite propaganda.

Crazy as the Birchers are, they are smart enough to recognize that anti-Semitism kills your brand. That doesn’t make their baloney any more suitable for the South Dakota Legislature; it just suggests they might be a touch less vile than you and other brazen anti-Semites.

  7. Alison Weir gets labeled as an anti-Semite. I am not in her league, but I did witness her classy presentation when she was at the Democratic forum a while back. She talked about the USS Liberty and more.
    thanks,

  8. Well, we’re so far away from discussing Michael Boyle’s positions, I suppose it doesn’t matter, but tell us, Jerry: does your last comment make any point relevant to this discussion, or are you just trying to get more Google mentions for your preferred Klan recruiting material?

The Birch playpen appears to have evolved into a colerblind form of conservativism.. At this stage in the zionist program of white genocide, token resistance might be the order of the day. “We who are about to die salute you.” is all that is left for the white race.

The difference of race is one of the reasons why I fear war may always exist; because race implies difference, difference implies superiority, and superiority leads to predominance.

  10. What false, racist rot. There is no white genocide. Jerry is as full of unhelpful fantasies as Michael Boyle and the John Birch crowd.

  11. Jerry Hoekstra

It is OK Disraeli to be a raciist. I think it is called Jewish privilege.
    thanks,
    Jerry

  12. Boy, Jerry will take any excuse to spout his anti-Semitism and other foul nonsense.

There is no Jewish privilege. There is no white genocide. There are only sad old white guys like Jerry scapegoating minorities to make themselves feel macho. Puke.

  13. Jerry Hoekstra

If the dishonor of our sailors killed on the USS Liberty is not Jewish privilege what should I call it.
    thanks,
    Jerry

  14. Perhaps we can get the District 19 candidates to weigh on their view of the USS Liberty incident and its impact on their votes in the South Dakota Legislature….
