Fake News? Try Fake President

Donald Trump Fake
…says the Wall Street Journal.

Every time Donald Trump shouts his fake news from the White House, he reveals himself to be a fake President.

So says the certainly not liberal Wall Street Journal in discussing Trump’s paranoid wiretap claim, the finest example of the hubristic billionaire’s “seemingly endless stream of exaggerations, evidence-free accusations, implausible denials and other falsehoods“:

…He has offered no evidence for his claim, and a parade of intelligence officials, senior Republicans and Democrats have since said they have seen no such evidence.

Yet the President clings to his assertion like a drunk to an empty gin bottle, rolling out his press spokesman to make more dubious claims. Sean Spicer—who doesn’t deserve this treatment—was dispatched last week to repeat an assertion by a Fox News commentator that perhaps the Obama Administration had subcontracted the wiretap to British intelligence.

That bungle led to a public denial from the British Government Communications Headquarters, and British news reports said the U.S. apologized. But then the White House claimed there was no apology. For the sake of grasping for any evidence to back up his original tweet, and the sin of pride in not admitting error, Mr. Trump had his spokesman repeat an unchecked TV claim that insulted an ally.

…Two months into his Presidency, Gallup has Mr. Trump’s approval rating at 39%. No doubt Mr. Trump considers that fake news, but if he doesn’t show more respect for the truth most Americans may conclude he’s a fake President [editorial, “A President’s Credibility,” Wall Street Journal, 2017.03.21].

Words matter. In terms of economic and geopolitical stability, the words of the President of the United States matter more than the words of most individuals. When the President of the United States lies this openly and often, he does genuine harm to the United States.

The world cannot afford a Fake President.

If ever the United States needed a parliamentary system where Congress could call an election with a vote of no confidence, now is that time.

GOPs ought to embrace impeachment. The sooner Trump is impeached and removed from office along with the unqualified whackadoo yes-men he brought with him, the sooner the US can move past the daily dose of lies and propaganda piled on top of yesterday’s dose of lies and propaganda.

Let’s face it. Trump is just as mentally unstable as Lora Hubbel. He has serious mental health issues, and his yes-men have to go into full cover-up mode every day trying to water down the insanity enough to minimize the number of Trump supporters jumping ship. The only question is what will come first: impeachment, or cabinet secretaries having Trump thrown in a rubber room? It will happen this year.

Oh, come on Trump is a very ethical decent model for the GOP, so full of good wholesome Christian family values. The GOP should be proud to have such a moral god-fearing leader.

@cah: “If ever the United States needed a parliamentary system where Congress could call an election with a vote of no confidence, now is that time.”

If the US had the Westminster system, Obama wouldn’t have finished out his last two years. Be careful what you wish for.

Amazing that the “party of family values” lies about Obama every chance they get. Don’t they know they go to hell for lying about Obama every chance they get?

Face it, nutters, Obama is the best potus of yer life. Now learn to live with it.

ps Drumpf’s austerity measures will have America resembling Kansas any day now.

Just what impeachable offense has President Trump committed?

Trump has compromised national security by conducting government business in public using his unsecure android phone in a manner and in locations prone to hacking. He has used the office of the Presidency for personal gain, remaining the owner of his vast and undisclosed business holdings. He has lied on almost a daily basis and tried his damnedest to cover up lies told by his lackies about their contacts and involvement with Russian agents during the campaign. His erratic behavior – or maybe just he himself – forces his spokesweasels including Spawn Scheister to go out an lie to the press/public every day. Every day. Never since Nixon has there been such a narcissistic sociopath as President, and he has Nixon beat by a mile.

He can and should be removed w/o impeachment. William Jefferson Clinton was impeached for lying about sex. Drumpf lies about everything, even when there is no need to lie. He blatantly accused the former Potus of wiretapping him. That was proven a lie over and over and he still repeats it. He lied about Britain being involved in wiretapping. He is a mental case nut job who is unfit for the office he holds and should be removed immediately-if wingnuts actually cared about the constitution and their duty to it.

The House Intelligence Chairman just tipped off Donald Trump and his associates that their communications were incidentally gathered by US intelligence agencies.

Nunes may have hust destroyed an active investigation. His job does not include tipping off possible suspects they may be getting surveilled. What a freaking moron.

Just about what I was going to write: “He is a mental case nut job who is unfit for the office he holds and should be removed immediately-if wingnuts actually cared about the constitution and their duty to it.”

Trump seems to show more than a little evidence of being insane. That should be enough to impeach him. Pence is an ideological freak, but I don’t think he is completely crazy.

Crappy Americans voted for this phony bastard. If all decent people felt the true necessity of voting in EVERY SINGLE ELECTION without fail, this never would have happened. We need to recognize, fully, how many crap-for-brains people this country has produced in recent decades – and FEAR them enough to create a new culture of die hard moderates.

I’m talking Bruce Willis DieHard movies, sort of die hard. It’s gonna take balls, cleverness, strength and character to do it. You can’t trust the GOP -at all- on anything, right now. They are showing to be COMPLICIT with Putin’s Agent Orange. They love themselves more than they love this country.

I bet they all would have gotten Putin’s help to win their elections if they could. It’s almost like they are envious of Trump for having done it first – and they can’t wait to do it in the future. That’s how unconcerned they are [except for heroes like John McCain (who I now love – like he’s my crazy uncle but he’s still family)].

Would it be better to handle crazy with impeachment or with the 25th Amendment?

  12. Jenny 2017-03-23 09:56

Oh you people, Trump is the Salt of the Earth and all god-fearing ‘pubs should strive to be like him.
