Jackley Beats Noem in Crime Joust with Sessions Photo Op, List of Crime Initiatives

Last week, U.S. Representative Kristi Noem thought she’d take a swipe at her primary opponent for Governor, Attorney General Marty Jackley, by writing a letter to the U.S.A.G. Jeff Sessions about how bad crime is in South Dakota and calling on him to do something.

Not to be outdone, Jackley didn’t just write a letter: he went to see Sessions in person, got his picture taken, and issued this press release yesterday listing all the great things he’s done to fight the crime Kristi is complaining about:

“As South Dakota’s Attorney General and the former Chairman of the Nation’s Attorneys General, I am looking forward to working with our federal partners in continuing to strengthen public safety. Law enforcement cooperation in South Dakota involving the U.S. Attorney, Attorney General, State’s Attorneys, Tribal officers, Chiefs, and Sheriffs, sets a high standard on how to better protect communities by developing task forces and sharing resources,” said Jackley. “U.S. Attorney Sessions gave his commitment to work with and seek advice from state and local officials to reduce crime in America.”

There are significant opportunities to strengthen efforts that have been important to our Nation’s Attorneys General which include:

1. Federal partnering and assistance with the Conference of Western Attorneys General agreement with the United Mexican States in combating drug crimes, weapons trafficking and human trafficking. See Conference Western Attorneys General Agreement signed by then Chairman Attorney General Marty J. Jackley, July 20, 2014.

2. Removing Federal immunity that prevents state prosecutors from prosecuting those that assist and make a profit from internet child sex trafficking activity. See the State Attorney General correspondence to Congress of July 23, 2013, co-authored by Marty Jackley (R) and Chris Koster (D) and signed by 49 State Attorneys General.

3. Federal partnering with the National “Campaign for Child Rescue,” a joint partnership of law enforcement, private industry leaders and non-profit organizations led by South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley (R) and Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring (D). This program ensures assets and new technologies are deployed to identify and rescue children in every state [links added; Attorney General Marty Jackley, press release, 2017.02.28].

Face time with the feds, list of concrete actions—I’d say Marty wins that joust with Kristi. Well played, Mr. Attorney General!

Update 18:10 CST: A.G. Jackley ups his game with another press release today about his meeting yesterday with the President and Vice-President and a suggestion that he got the President swing some big-government at crime:

After the meeting, President Trump announced he has directed the Department of Justice to work with state and local law enforcement to reduce violent crime. In addition, the President announced he has ordered the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice, along with the Department of State and the Director of National Intelligence, to coordinate an aggressive strategy to dismantle the criminal cartels that have spread across our Nation [Attorney General Marty Jackley, yet another press release, 2017.03.01].

This is shaping up just like the presidential elections…. WE NEED AN ALTERNATIVE CHOICE!

Woah! The photo indicates Marty Jackley out-strong-arming Trump on the handshake! Granted, Trump is sitting down – I’d still bet Trump could yank Marty across a table.

Tough guy politics – making new connections – building new relationships – measuring the cut of another man’s jib – LOL!!!

Marty looks so..Russian standing next to Sessions. That Sessions boy has been found out to be just another member of the Russian shadow government that is calling the shots in Washington now. Looking good dude. Why is it that the attorney general always seems to get in bed with those countries that seem to be the most corrupt. First, the Chinese and the EB5, who cannot question the fact that our AG looked the other way when this was going down. Now the Russians, who can deny that love-in with Sessions, a proven liar that did so in front of us all about his Russian connections. One wonders, was it about the money or was it about the kinky sex those Russian gals are famous for, or both? It is cold over there. Drain the swamp, my arse, the swamp is expanding.

Rubio just said he doesn’t want a Witch Hunt, but he won’t allow a cover-up of the Russian/Trump election INFLUENCE investigation. Sessions took the cover-up option. Tidemann did did the same to protect Rounds’ election from EB5 fraud. Jackley&Daugaard likely did too in the MCEC fraud and mass murder. Simple

Marty better be careful, Matt Varilek had a video of him in college that NOem used to attack him. Turns out that is the republican attack 101 in their production line. Here it is again being used https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztJlZ3Ndbw4

The same writers and producers do this stuff all over the country now that this petri dish of shallow politics got headway. Soon we will see Marty slugging them back while in school. One thing about republican politics, those boys have the bucks to really put on on hell of a show during the primary.

I think Marty is mentioning to Trump in that picture that he is available to be AG if Sessions gets fired for lying under oath at his confirmation hearing. Marty can unequivocally say that he had no contacts with the Russians during the presidential campaign, being stuck here in SD and all.

Seriously, how does Sessions forget that he met twice with the man commonly known to be the biggest Russian spy inside the US?

Trump criticized Bill Clinton for talking with Loretta Lynch during a time when the FBI was looking into the Clinton email debacle, but here we have a Trump surrogate meeting with the Russians twice this year during the campaign and he forgets to tell Congress about it! Is meeting with Russians so routine by Republicans now that they forget the meetings have taken place? One meeting was at the Republican National Convention. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Russians were skulking around during the RNC. Somebody had to give Trump his marching orders.

This is going to be interesting. Bill Clinton gets impeached for lying about consensual sex and Jeff Sessions will probably get a commendation for lying under oath about his contacts with the Russians.

Jackley for USAG? That would be kinda awesome. It would certainly shake up everyone’s calculus for the Governor’s race.

But if Trump tapped Jackley, the national press would find Jackley’s connections to our other great geopolitical rival, China, via the EB-5 scandal, and then we’d be off to the races.

Jokely would fit right in this administration by covering up crimes and handling them in house.

Sessions agrees to step aside in any matter pertaining to Russia. Since he committed perjury I’d think he’d best resign. The chance at power to undo civil and social rights is too strong a pull for wingnuts to play by the rules.

WH admitted today that Gen Flynn not only called and talked to Russians he actually had a meeting in Drumpf Tower with them. Orange mangled apricot had to know this in advance. Can anyone in this admoni…administration tell the truth?
