Electoral College Protest Planned Monday at Every Capitol; Trump Threatens Faithless Electors

A coalition of activist groups, including Democracy Spring, Americans Take Action, the Electoral College Petition, and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, is attempting to stage protests at every state capitol on Monday, December 19 to convince members of the Electoral College to “listen to the voice of the people and refuse to cast their ballots for Donald Trump.” You can sign up for the “peaceful, patriotic, nonviolent, and family-friendly” South Dakota protest—Monday, 9 a.m. Central, State Capitol—online.

I’ve laid out several reasons South Dakota’s Electors could use to justify voting for someone other than Putin’s puppet. Harvard’s Lawrence Lessig, who is organizing free legal assistance for balky Electors, says 20 Trump Electors are thinking about voting for someone else, but we’d need 37 to not just think about it but do it to throw the outcome into doubt. I agree with Andrew Prokop of Vox that a sufficiently large Electoral College revolt is unlikelyU.S. News calls it a “moonshot.”

But Team Trump takes no chances. They are apparently letting Republican Electors know that they bolt at their own political peril:

“We have gotten reports from multiple people,” the elector said, “that the Donald Trump campaign is putting pressure on Republican electors to vote for him based on . . . future political outcomes based on whether they vote for Donald Trump or not.”

…“It’s all political, basically,” the elector said. “If Trump becomes the president, he’s going to be able to put pressure on the state parties and they won’t be involved anymore” [Matthew Rozsa, “Source: Donald Trump’s Campaign Is Threatening ‘Political Reprisal’ for Defecting Republican Electors,” Salon, 2016.12.13].

Governor Daugaard, you’ve said you have run your last political race, so you’ve got nothing to lose from any Trump political vindictiveness. Attorney General Marty Jackley, you don’t need Trump to win the Governor’s race here in South Dakota (and your GOP opponent, Rep. Kristi Noem, already stood Trump up on his AgSec interview request, so you’re even!). Lt. Gov. Matt Michels, everybody in South Dakota likes you, so what do you care about political reprisals from Donald Trump?

And hey—if each of you three can bring another eleven Electors with you, Donald Trump may not be in any position to work any political reprisal on you.

  3. Porter Lansing 2016-12-16 17:52

Why would you be required to sign up for a protest? That’s going to keep at least half the people away. E.G. When polled anonymously about whether they use marijuana, the numbers have been proven to always be way low. Only once marijuana became legal could an accurate poll be taken Because the respondents felt no threat of someone somehow getting their information.

  4. mike from iowa 2016-12-16 18:08

Drumpf supporters have made some serious, specific threats against electors if they don’t vote for Drumpf. Drumpf sez he will consider Russia hacked us if Dems quit using the hacks in the context of the election. Fake Noize finally admitted the Russkies hacked our election. They claim they just now independently verified the info.

  5. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-16 19:02

Maybe Obama can use taxpayer dollars to lobby against the electors just like he did in Israel?

  6. jerry 2016-12-16 19:32

Obama swayed the vote in Israel, too much nog for your noggin Mr. Deplorable. Hey, how is that Obamacare working for ya? oy

  7. jerry 2016-12-16 19:36

Not only is this a republican victory, they share ownership with Russia who today Obama called small like the leaders hands https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X5NYyDlqVk Trump and Putin are your boys now Mr. Deplorable, live with it.

  8. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-16 20:02

So much for that stern talk’n to he gave Putin. Maybe he could’ve drawn a red line?

  9. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-16 20:27

Jeesh Darin, homophobe much? I know you guys are upset but don’t throw away all your principles.

  10. Darin Larson 2016-12-16 20:35

Greg, how did your mind leap to homophobia from that picture? Maybe you should talk it through with your therapist. I think you are projecting your insecurities.

  11. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-16 20:46

Well, look to the bright side. At least Putin didn’t hack the election when Obama was running right?

Seriously though, I was going to vote Hillary but then got some weird Russian email and it totally made me want to vote Trump instead. It got me, I will admit it now.

  12. Darin Larson 2016-12-16 20:54

I thought it was the video with Billy Bush that convinced you to vote for Trump. He didn’t grab your attention?

  13. Tim Higgins 2016-12-17 09:28

That Donald Trump won’t promise to accept the result of the Presidential election and support a peaceful transition of power tells us how dangerous Donald Trump is to democracy. Donald Trump’s failure to offer that basic affirmation of democracy overrides any reason he may offer to elect him to public office.

Gee whose words are these?? Hello kettle meet pot

  14. caheidelberger Post author | 2016-12-17 09:37

Tim, you o.k. with the beneficiary of Russian influence assuming the Presidency?

In no way do my words here advocate for anything other than an acceptance of the Electoral College’s vote (which is the only vote Trump can win, since he certainly did not win the popular vote) and a continued peaceful transition of power. And in no way do they contradict the statement Tim quotes from my October 19 blog post on Donald Trump’s unwillingness to accept unfavorable election results.

  15. mike from iowa 2016-12-17 10:22

GD-if memory serves Jewish money flowed into congressional races and Wingnuts invited Nothin’Jehu to speak to congress w/o the courtesy of informing the WH.

Drumpf thanked African Americans for not coming out to vote in the Russian/FBI hacked election. Drumpf totally ignores the massive wingnut campaigns all around America to suppress voting by likely Democrat voters of color. Wingnut pols admit they suppress minority votes and yet it isn’t a serious enough crime to bring charges against those who subvert democracy for momentary political gains.

  16. jerry 2016-12-17 10:58

One thing is for certain, the United States has used these same tactics over and over again on other elected democracies starting in Iran for one, Chile, Argentina, Guatemala along with dozens more. We acted as the will of the people when in fact they voted just the opposite. We did not care as long as there was profit in the deal We knew what made it work, a willing accomplice. Russia found that here with republican leadership and they really did not have to exploit it much, just send Facebook lies to go along with fake news sites like Fox, Rush and the rest of the lying liars and there ya go. It is Nicaragua all over again. Life is funny like that. So, here we are, a country that has had democracy yanked out from under it, with the full knowledge of the secret police, and we are surprised.

Will we get that secular guy or will we get Pinochet. From the choice’s being made, it looks like the Chicago School of Economics is back like in the other takeovers of the will of the people http://www.commondreams.org/views/2011/04/02/how-milton-friedman-and-chicago-economics-undermined-america

Greed is good! The ruling class must rule with the tax breaks they need to stay their course.

  17. Tim Higgins 2016-12-17 12:08

Spin it any way you want to Cory but you can’t accept the results of the election. There is no concrete proof that Russia influenced the results of the election.

  18. Porter Lansing 2016-12-17 12:16

Tim … That’s FAKE NEWS PROPAGANDA. There’s concrete proof that, Not Russia but Russians hacked the DNC. These Russians are known “off the grid” operatives that do clandestine hacking operations for The Kremlin. Limbaugh, Pags, Hannity and Beck have a bunch of products just right for your intellect. Try again.

  19. grudznick 2016-12-17 12:31

Mr. Higgins, we all saw this coming. If Ms. Clinton had won the election the libbies would be howling and thumbing their noses at whoever claimed the election was rigged or fraught with fraud or just darned unfair. Since Mr. Trump won the election the libbies are howling that the election was darned unfair.

I was a huge Johnson supporter, and yet you don’t see me whining that my man didn’t get a fair shake.

  20. Darin Larson 2016-12-17 12:43

Tim says “There is no concrete proof that Russia influenced the results of the election.”

You mean the Wikileaks disclosures of hacked emails day after day for the last 2 months of the campaign didn’t influence less than .5% of voters in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan and or Florida to vote for Trump over Clinton?

Good for you. Don’t let the facts get in the way of your world view.

  21. mike from iowa 2016-12-17 12:55

Wasn’t the cement plant in South Dakota owned by the Russians at one time? How much more “concrete” evidence could you want?

Even Fake Noize gave up the charade of no Russian interference. Wingnut FBI is on board, as well. The hacking and interference did happen. HRC asked Donnie Drumpf##k about it in all three televised debates. Drumpf hizownself sez it happened, but only if Dems stop tieing it to the election.

  22. mike from iowa 2016-12-17 12:59

Why did Drumpf’s deplorables try so hard to block recounts? The outfit that monitors the voting machines itself was hacked. Wonder what kind of pertinent info wingnut Russians could have gotten out of that site. If Russians didn’t hack the election to get Drumpf elected, why was only Democrat emails leaked. RNC claims their site was hacked. Miss Lindey Graham-wingnut sinator of South Carolina sez his site was hacked.

  23. grudznick 2016-12-17 13:00

Mike, realizing that you are not from South Dakota but from Iowa, you would not know that the plant of cement was sold by South Dakota to some fellows from Mexico. Those fellows still own the plant here in Rapid City, where they run a sustainable growing company, a great place to work and a solid investment for shareholders.

  24. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-17 13:04

Just wondering if some of these analysts who are claiming Russian election interference were also the wizards of smart blaming the Benghazi attack on a youtube video?

  25. Daryl Root 2016-12-17 13:09

Apparently DFP has no respect for “the system” unless it advances their cause. Admit it, you lost the election. Trying to subvert the result by “begging” the electors to ignore their long-accepted obligation is pathetic. If the situation were reversed, DFP would be screaming conspiracy. I seldom use to agree with DFP, but at least I used to respect it. Now that you’re showing your true side since the Trump victory, I have lost that respect. You’re just another sore loser. (NOTE: I didn’t vote for Trump).

  26. Porter Lansing 2016-12-17 13:31

Daryl … Your assertion is well stated and would be appropriate EXCEPT that the election was hacked, undue influence and stolen personal property (a felony) was used to sway voters and that leaves normal rules moot. As you say, “If the situation were reversed …” Republicans would be screaming conspiracy. If you lose respect for a political party that stands up and cries FOUL over something as important as the President of USA being unfairly elected, then your respect was not based with a solid foundation and is blowing over like cattails in a Dakota wind.

  27. Darin Larson 2016-12-17 13:31

Yep, Daryl Root, people should just accept that the Russian government influenced our election for the candidate of their choice fair and square. And I’m assuming you are chastising Trump as well. Although HRC got over 2.8 million more votes than Trump, Trump does not accept that and says that he really would have won the popular vote in a landslide if it weren’t for all the people voting illegally. Trump says the system is rigged and he will only accept the results of the election if he wins. But it turned out he lied again, since he won and still wouldn’t accept the results of the election. Only Trump could win a rigged election and still be sore about it.

  28. Porter Lansing 2016-12-17 13:38

Don Trump won the election. The election will forever have an asterisk behind it, in history books. No one can ever say, “Trump won fair and square.”

  29. caheidelberger Post author | 2016-12-17 13:43

Daryl, I assign little if any weight to arguments based on hypotheticals. You have no idea what or whether I would be screaming about anything in a universe where Clinton won, then began populating her Cabinet with Goldman Sachs alumni, racists, and unqualified choices and where the CIA and FBI agreed that the Russian government intervened in the election on her behalf.

To check, Daryl, are you rejecting the Founders’ intent for the Electoral College in favor of accreted but untested tradition?

  30. mike from iowa 2016-12-17 13:58

Well.Grudz, since you are from somewhere no one has ever heard of, you and the Drumpians should be up in arms that Obama allowed Messicans in and forced your state to sell them rapists and murderers a state owned entity. There is time to correct your offering to reflect the official history according to wingnuts.

Besides, Russians sound better. More intrigue, you know, than what kind of gravy taters is fer lunch everyday.

  31. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-17 14:10

So are the Russians; racists, bigots, homophobes, bible & gun clinging Deplorables as well for supporting Trump in your world?

  32. caheidelberger Post author | 2016-12-17 14:29

No, Greg, I know from my own travels in Russia that Russians’ mean streak of racism, bigotry, and homophobia existed well before Trump ran for President. Putin announced a crackdown on illegal guns earlier this year.

But even if those social characteristics weren’t present in Russian culture, I’d still be alarmed at the Russian government’s intervention in our Presidential election… as ought you be.

  33. Porter Lansing 2016-12-17 14:31

Hillary Rodham Clinton is now a progressive martyr. (That might bode better for her legacy then what she had planned for her cabinet.) But, there’re enough religious people reading this blog to know the symbolism of a martyr. Progressive liberal Democrats will not rest until the debt owed to us is fully and wholly extracted and justice is avenged. Period!!

  34. jerry 2016-12-17 14:44

These are your boys now Mr. Deplorable or Enabler, same difference. You all get the captains chairs now to see how republicans govern once again. Here is a hint: Remember back 16 years and then go forward. What banks do you think we will be bailing out first? My guess is foreign ones that have ties with the boy from Stalingrad. Wells is also hanging. Here is your new anthem, they will be played jointly at all events now after Jan 20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlpyh2TL3e0

  35. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-17 15:02

How good is life for J. Podesta?
Enrich yourself while Clinton is paying for play with the Russian Uranium deal…..check.
Get out of jail free card (blame Russians) for being a dupe and getting phished…..check.

I’d say the guy is due for a promotion in the Democrat party.

  36. jerry 2016-12-17 15:09

Well if he does get the promotion, it will be much deserved. He did prove without a doubt, how easy it is to hack democracy. We have been doing that for decades, Podesta proved that anything Kissenger did, Putin can do better.

  37. jerry 2016-12-17 15:14

So then, hacking was going on in 1983? Let me see, how can a 186 floppy disk have the power to do an election fraud in 1983. Explain that? I would have to see the proof that old Teddy Kennedy did that. Where is actual note. Linky linky

  38. mike from iowa 2016-12-17 15:17

From the Federalist, it is a fourth hand story someone got from someone else who was a confidante of someone who knew someone. Yup, sounds like positive proof Ted Kenned Benghazied Uncle Ronnie Raygun who did seek Iran’s help to defeat Jimmy Carter in 1980. Undisputable proof, not hearsay garbage.

  39. jerry 2016-12-17 15:19

Mr. Deplorable, you guys seem to like all the dealings of crooked intrigue, Here is one for you at the same time. This actually is proven and had a lot to do with national security.

“Iran-contra affair, in U.S. history, secret arrangement in the 1980s to provide funds to the Nicaraguan contra rebels from profits gained by selling arms to Iran. The Iran-contra affair was the product of two separate initiatives during the administration of President Ronald Reagan.”

Old Teddy did what? I cannot believe that he had the stones to go to the Russians.

  40. grudznick 2016-12-17 15:32

Linky Linky, doesn’t make your story not stinky.
Those blue links don’t prove anything because Mr. H writes bloggings and then links to them from other bloggings as if to offer proof. Wikipedia gets kids papers an F. And I don’t click on the blue links because of the mean tricks my friend Lar would play by posting links to pictures of naked young men and other atrocities.

  41. mike from iowa 2016-12-17 15:37

oregonlive says the story never actually happened.
Someone else determined the book that was written with the smoking gun KGB letter was hagiographic (about Raygun), with great research.

  42. mike from iowa 2016-12-17 15:39

Enrich yourself while Clinton is paying for play with the Russian Uranium deal…..check.
Get out of jail free card (blame Russians) for being a dupe and getting phished…..check.

Simple project, Deplorable. PROVE IT! Prove any of it.

  43. jerry 2016-12-17 15:48

Mr. Deplorable, you have the outrage and it shows with how your are bringing up things that never happened. I know it will be hard for you and your fellows to swallow the takeover of government by a foreign power but read history. We Americans have done this time and time again. Is that what you are outraged about? That it has now happened to us? If so, then I am supportive of your disappointment.

  44. bearcreekbat 2016-12-17 16:22

Nice Trump trick Greg! Change the conversation to a discussion of events taking place 35 or 40 years ago to avoid further discussion of the finding by the CIA and confirmed by the FBI that Russia hacked the election to help Trump, and all of the corroborating behavior recently and subsequently demonstrated by Trump.

If you are a foreign Country posing as a troll, however, you might worry as America has shown its willingness to unilaterally start an unprovoked war using false allegations of weapons of mass destruction. In your situation you have provided written evidence of weapons of mass distraction, which in many ways are much more dangerous in the long run.

  45. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-17 16:43

I’d feel betrayed as well if my party spent the better part of a generation pandering & idolizing the Ruskies only to have them choose the Republicans instead. That would suck, at least Russia wants to make America Great Again.

  46. jerry 2016-12-17 17:15

Not to worry Mr. Deplorable, there already exists a billboard in Russia that has your two boys saying they are gonna make the World Great Again. Me, I would like to know when that was, do you know Mr. Deplorable, when America was that Great? Tell us when that was, and then go on just a little, I am not greedy, on how you are gonna make it that way again.

  47. jerry 2016-12-17 17:19

The Russians knew they could get the best deal with the Republicans. They knew that the Democrats would never go all the way. First base was as far as the pander and idol would go. We on the left are pretty fussy on who we go to bed with. Even though you think otherwise, that is how we roll. Who knew it would only take a few pieces of silver to go all the way. What was the sales pitch? Have some more vodka? Was that it? Who knew

  51. leslie 2016-12-17 18:38

NICE OF republican obstructionist operatives to give us this opportunity to clarify history they can’t spin. Jimmy Carter, likely as fine a person and president as Obama, struggled with return of Iranian hostages and started Navy Seal type specialization as a result of the awful rescue attempt that ended with fires in the desert, unlike Obama’s OBL capture/kill in Pakistan.

Reagan, republican president extrordiaire, cheated like all republicans to win elections, seemingly [get it, ethics are not important, disqualification of voters?]. Scammers, up to and including especially, Trump, Bush (notice how they tried to ruin Gen. Colin Powell, Secretary of State?) and Nixon; the real “establishment” the 60s railed against and beat. Unfortunatelay 55,000 of us were cannon fodder in Vietnam but the military establishment finally started to come to grips with post war PTSD.

google it. Not sure if above this was already mentioned, but seeing these ridiculous republican bloggers above, it may bear repeating.

“Behind Carter’s back, the Reagan campaign had previously worked out a deal with the leader of Iran’s radical faction, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini, to keep the hostages in captivity until after the 1980 presidential election in order to humiliate Carter and hand the election to Reagan. This was nothing short of treason.” http://www.salon.com/2015/07/16/if_the_gop_tries_to_sink_the_iran_deal_it_wont_be_the_first_time/

John Thune has no problem with treason. Look at his letter to Iran to undermine the Iran nuclear prophylactic agreement Kerry and Obama made. Runs in the blood of republicans, apparently. No ethics. Winning is all they care about. Really. This is not just a line. and this was BEFORE Trump.

I am so sick of losing elections we win. think about it.

Nice discussion. I’m still trying to get my mind in sync with our congressional delegation voting for a man who encouraged his wife to pose nude and then she did…what a role model for our children. What a patriotic poster that will be. But apparently, South Dakota GOP voters along with Noem, Rounds and Thune think this is OK. Values voters!

For future reference GOP Trump supporters and our congressional delegation…please don’t ever lecture us on morals ever again. Thank you.

  54. caheidelberger Post author | 2016-12-18 08:29

Tim Higgins shows us the info-nihilist problem of Trumpism. When you can delegitimize the greatest newspapers in America, the CIA, the FBI, and every other source of reliable information as mere “spin”, you are free to cling to whatever belief you want. Reason dissolves into relativism, and civic life becomes a shouting match in which the loudest, meanest, and most powerful prevail.

Russia worked to influence the American election. Russia would prefer an America led by a Putin/oligarchy-friendly incompetent than by a skilled, knowledgeable diplomat with a record of being tough on Russia.

  55. mike from iowa 2016-12-18 08:53

Tim-even yer article says there is no proof contributions to the foundation had any connections to the sale. There were also 8 other agencies involved from the US gubmint that had to sign off on the deal. I realize how bad you wingnuts want to prove Clinton is a crook, but you need real evidence, something that would hold up in a real courtroom-not wingnut propaganda led public opinion.

  56. mike from iowa 2016-12-18 08:59

From Snopes, Tim, the world’s foremost debunkers of lies

The Uranium One deal was not Clinton’s to veto or approve

Among the ways these accusations stray from the facts is in attributing a power of veto or approval to Secretary Clinton that she simply did not have. Clinton was one of nine cabinet members and department heads that sit on the CFIUS, and the secretary of the treasury is its chairperson. CFIUS members are collectively charged with evaluating the transaction for potential national security issues, then turning their findings over to the president. By law, the committee can’t veto a transaction; only the president can. According to The New York Times, Clinton may not have even directly participated in the Uranium One decision. Then-Assistant Secretary of State Jose Fernandez, whose job it was to represent the State Dept. on CFIUS, said Clinton herself “never intervened” in committee matters.

The timing of most of the donations does not match

Of the $145 million allegedly contributed to the Clinton Foundation by Uranium One investors, the lion’s share — $131.3 million — came from a single donor, Frank Giustra, the company’s founder. But Giustra sold off his entire stake in the company in 2007, three years before the Russia deal and at least 18 months before Clinton became secretary of state.

Of the remaining individuals connected with Uranium One who donated to the Clinton Foundation, only one was found to have contributed during the same time frame that the deal was taking place, according to The New York Times — Ian Telfer, the company’s chairman:

His donations through the Fernwood Foundation included $1 million reported in 2009, the year his company appealed to the American Embassy to help it keep its mines in Kazakhstan; $250,000 in 2010, the year the Russians sought majority control; as well as $600,000 in 2011 and $500,000 in 2012. Mr. Telfer said that his donations had nothing to do with his business dealings, and that he had never discussed Uranium One with Mr. or Mrs. Clinton. He said he had given the money because he wanted to support Mr. Giustra’s charitable endeavors with Mr. Clinton. “Frank and I have been friends and business partners for almost 20 years,” he said.

  57. jerry 2016-12-18 09:34

Regarding the Trump Foundation, The Clinton Foundation and all of the other foundations that are done as good faith measures to help places that may never ever get any assistance, good for them. I think that both Trump and Clinton should have resigned publicly from these foundations years ago as they both had sights of the high office in their futures.

The American people should have the expectations that those they choose to represent them in Washington or Pierre for that matter, are not tainted in any way by outside interests. The choices made regarding public monies should not have any strings attached for the benefit of those voting to appropriate their taxpayer money.

The warning from Trump against the electoral college is just another reason why he is unfit for the job of representing all of the people. If the electoral college is that frail to heed warnings from a despot, then it has no business representing the people and should stand down.

  58. jerry 2016-12-18 09:45

Mr. Higgins proves beyond a doubt that he does not listen to his leader man Trump. The Trump said the election was rigged, this he said dozens of times publicly. For that, there is no dispute. As the leader man says the election was rigged, is it not incumbent upon not only Mr. Higgins and the rest of the Trump followers, but to all of us to find out who was responsible for this? The leader man knows from good sources that this election was rigged and he told Mr. Higgins exactly that, act on it man, act on it.

  59. Tim Higgins 2016-12-18 13:14

Peter Lansing, then produce the proof. You can’t because there is none.

  60. Porter Lansing 2016-12-18 17:13

I have noticed that ever since Mr. H really ramped up his campaign in his bloggings here and the elections got going there has been a significant increase in general rudeness. I would attribute much of it to the out-of-state visitors, but it seems to be growing now even after the elections. I, for one, hope people can become more reasonable once again. May all of you have a really swell evening.

Tim and Deplorable- your little fantasies have been sliced, diced and disemboweled. Time to put them to bed before you really start to believe them yourselves. Final election count has HRC ahead by 2.85 million popular votes. Go tell the mangled apricot hellbeast his fantasies have been sliced, dic…. you know the rest.

“Ivanka is gonna be the first lady, if I can keep the people fooled. She is the best…She is the top of the line..I am the greatest..but she is the greatest too.. This other one here.. this Melania..she is, hey, where is she?” D. Trump

    Hillary lost. That is good.
Trump won. That is bad. It is bad.
    But it is.
If we were doing it by leg wrestling, Hillary might have won. Hillary could probably take Mr. PP in Indian Leg-Wrestling. And he’s no slouch. But Trump won. Those are the rules.

“Trump supporters, GOP elites, a substantial portion of the US electorate simply didn’t care about what Russia was doing because they believed it hurt Hillary Clinton.
Having said all this, it is important to repeat what I think was also clear at the time. The vast majority, I would say basically all of what the Russians found, was pedestrian and inconsequential. I would say that it had a small to marginal effect on the outcome. But it was an extremely close election that can be enough to make the difference. Can you imagine the emails within the RNC as Trump went from being the scourge and mortal enemy to man of destiny? But having close to all of one side’s private communication dribbled out into the public realm and fluffed up by a credulous press was obviously damaging.
Let’s not make fools of ourselves again. For most of the Fall the US government was on the record about who was behind the disruption campaign. It was discussed widely in the press. The vast majority of Republicans simply didn’t care.”

This is so true. Mr. Higgins and Mr. Deplorable are just a couple of jokes in this story line. They so wanted to be ruled by men of power that they will allow a Russian takeover. Boys, you may have gotten what and who you dream of.

Rumour has it Drumpf’s grope buddy, Ivanka, will be conducting $50, 000 tours of the WH out of her official WH office.

There are rules, Grudz, but Drumpf didn’t win fairly-he had foreign and domestic help. He does not follow protocol of being a Precedent and is a disaster from the start. If he gets sworn into office w/o divesting his holdings he will immediately be in violation of the emoluments clause and that will be grounds for impeachment. Too bad. so sad. I was looking forward to at least a week of complete foreign policy disasters so citizens would have their gut full of right wing pols and never elect another ever.

    Who?

Great Horny owls don’t do their mating calls until January, Grudz. Then I believe it is who who who whooooo.

  70. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-19 16:51

Did I see this correctly, the only “faithless” electors were those who didn’t end up voting for Hillary? That would be icing on the cake after this week.

  71. mike from iowa 2016-12-19 17:01

America as we knew it ceases to exist on Jan 20,2017 unless Obama throws Drumpf into the insane asylum, which he prolly won’t.

  72. mike from iowa 2016-12-19 17:05

California wingnut Dana Roboblocker said Russia hacking Clinton’s emails was good for the country because it put more information out for the voters to see. He apparently doesn’t believe in the sanctity of privacy-unless it pertains to Drumpf’s tax records or illegal stuff dumbass dubya engaged in.

  73. Greg Deplorable 2016-12-19 18:17

You democrats can’t seem to get a break this week…but there is Faith Spotted Eagle from SD that did get a vote so there is hope.

Four Clinton Electors from Washington are willing to recognize they can pick a better candidate, but our Republican Electors look their racist, sexist, fascist nominee in the eye and shrug. Deplorable, indeed.

  75. jerry 2016-12-19 18:37

There were not many breaks at all today, but one thing is for certain, Russia sends its love to you Mr. Deplorable. Get one of this big ol furry caps and start slugging down Stoli. Today is your day and no one can take that from you…except Pooty Poot, so ya got that goin for ya, which is a good thing. Congratulations!

  76. mike from iowa 2016-12-19 18:46

Despicable Deplorable, since Drumpf is against everything decent liberal Americans stand for, what do you hope to gain from his reign of greed and terror? He’ll never let you sniff his grope toy’s panties. He doesn’t care a thing about you or me or any of us. So what do you get? The thrill of seeing us kiss our once great nation goodbye? Do you speak Russian fluently or something? What is it?
