Libertarian meat producer Collin Duprel says artificial intelligence is luring us into slavery and misery:
It’ll take away your independence as it sets your appointments for you, determines your driving route, makes your dinner plans, creates a grocery list, and then even sets your budget for you if it doesn’t place a pickup order for you too.
Before you know it, your AI “assistant” will feel more like your AI boss.
When a text comes in, it’ll recommend replies. It’ll draft your emails. Write your papers. Over time, it’ll be easier and such a time saver to let it do it all for you. Your ability to effectively communicate will be injured, and the longer you let AI do it for you, the bigger chore it will feel like when you need to do it yourself. Especially when it’s better at it than you.
Then, it’s going to come for your job.
It’s already your legal consultant, your medical diagnostic, and your therapist. As the models improve and they get bodies- actual machines they can ride on- it’ll be cooking your food, performing surgery, cleaning your house, and watching your children.
Beyond that, it’s going to steal your humanity. It’s going to take away your ability to create.
Go on the internet today and you’ll find movies written by AI, starring your favorite actors who never took part. Music, of every genre, written and performed by layers of code, and it sounds Billboard Hot 100. Art, perfectly pixelated and rendered in seconds, not months or years. Move over Michelangelo; hello META.
AI-rendered images are already often so perfect we don’t know what’s real anymore. We question real images and believe fake ones. Seeing is no longer believing. Two years ago, it couldn’t even generate human hands.
Humans will get lonelier, as AI companions that look, feel, and sound human will be available for purchase and genuine human connection won’t seem as necessary [Collin Duprel, “Kill All Humans—Skynet and Savior,” Rapid City Post, 2026.09.18].
Socialist commentator Branko Marcetic says artificial intelligence is already doing immense harm to humanity:
We saw it most recently with the Trump administration’s murder of scores of Iranian schoolgirls, where the military’s trust in Palantir’s AI tool Maven was a major part of the chain of disastrous decision-making that led to the atrocity.
…Before that, we saw AI used in a more apocalyptic way for the purpose of war in Gaza, where AI targeting was at the heart of Israel’s indiscriminate flattening of the territory.
…Meanwhile, as people have turned to AI for therapy and other help with their personal demons, AI chatbots have been linked to a series of suicides and even murders by troubled individuals, a number of them teenagers. The problem is that the technology — besides not being human or having professional mental health expertise — is designed to flatter, please, and otherwise keep the user engaged as long as possible. As a result, chatbots’ role in these tragedies has ranged from being useless to help users, to feeding their delusions and actively helping them hurt themselves or others.
That’s when AI isn’t helping otherwise mentally stable individuals hurt themselves with lethally bad advice: the man hospitalized after ChatGPT likely advised him to replace salt in his diet with an old-fashioned sedative; the stranded hikers who nearly died when Google Gemini advised them to pack far less food and water than they needed; the pastor who nearly died of a pulmonary embolism after ChatGPT advised him not to seek medical help; the elderly neuroscientist who put off cancer treatment because he had come to trust AI hallucinations over his own doctor; and so many more [Branko Marcetic, “AI Destruction Isn’t Hypothetical. Socialists and Libertarians, Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon… when the only people telling us AI is cool are the people who stand to make money on it, maybe we ought to stomp on the AI brakes.
