Kristi Noem visits Minnesota for a fascist photo op:
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was in the Twin Cities Tuesday as the Trump administration launches what it’s calling “the largest DHS operation ever.”
…In a video posted to the Department of Homeland Security’s official X account, Noem and several heavily armed and masked agents arrested a man in St. Paul. In another video, Noem appeared to greet and thank local ICE staff.
…[Governor Tim] Walz blasted the deployment as a waste of government resources on social media, sharing a video from a little over a week ago showing dozens of agents leading a single person out of a Hennepin County government building. He said the Trump administration did not give his office advance notice or any additional information on the operation.
“We have a ridiculous surge of apparently 2,000 people not coordinating with us that are for a show of the cameras,” Walz said at a news conference on Tuesday. “We don’t even know they are, they’ll be wearing masks” [Madison McVan, “Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem Visits Minnesota as Hundreds More ICE Agents Arrive,” Minnesota Reformer, 2026.01.06].
And the next day, Noem’s masked thugs murder a Minneapolis woman:
An ICE officer fatally shot a woman driving an SUV through her car window in south Minneapolis on Wednesday morning.
The deadly confrontation immediately ratcheted up the intensity of what was already a brutal crackdown on Minnesota and its immigrants by the Trump administration — and in a community with raw memories of the police murder of George Floyd.
Video of the incident shared with the Reformer shows masked ICE officers approach a Honda Pilot stopped in the middle of Portland Avenue near 34th Street. One officer tells the driver to “get out of the f*cking car” and tries to open the door. The driver then slowly backs up and then pulls forward, appearing to try to leave. An officer at the front of the vehicle fires three shots and the SUV travels a short distance before crashing into a parked car.
The woman was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, the Minneapolis chief of police said.
A group of Minneapolis City Council members identified her in a statement as Renee Nicole Good, a Minneapolis resident. They said she was a “member of our community” and demanded justice for her killing. She was 37 years old, according to the Minneapolis mayor.
…The witness who took the video, Caitlin Callenson, said she was on a walk when she saw an ICE vehicle stuck in the snow. As more ICE vehicles arrived, bystanders blew whistles in protest, and the driver of the SUV tried to block the ICE vehicles.
Callenson said she did not see ICE agents attempting to detain anyone leading up to or after the shooting.
After the shots were fired, the driver “then was completely slumped over in the vehicle,” said Emily Heller, another witness.
Federal agents wouldn’t allow a man who said he is a physician to examine the driver, Heller said. Emergency medical technicians arrived 15 minutes later, she said. First responders were unable to get close to the scene because ICE agents did not move their cars to let them through [Max Nesterak, Madison McVan, and Alyssa Chen, “ICE Officer Fatally Shoots Driver Through Car Window in Minneapolis,” Minnesota Reformer, 2026.01.07].
Thousands of Good’s neighbors rallied at the ICE murder site last night to rage against Noem’s machine of death and bullshit:
Thousands of people on Wednesday evening filled Portland Avenue near 34th Street in south Minneapolis, where just hours earlier an ICE officer shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in her car.
Candles, flowers and whistles filled the patch of snow where Good’s car crashed after she was shot.
…“No Trump, no troops, Twin Cities ain’t licking boots,” the crowd chanted. Several speakers called for the prosecution of the agent who shot Good.
Carly Morford, of northeast Minneapolis, said she was moved to come to the vigil after seeing a video of the killing and was appalled the Trump administration labeled Good a “domestic terrorist.”
“I’m not going to sit by while my fellow Minnesotans are shot and killed,” Morford said. “And so even though I’m just one person and it’s not going to do anything, a bunch of people coming out is.”
…Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a press conference Wednesday that Good “weaponized her vehicle” and “attempted to run a law enforcement officer over.”
Video provided to the Reformershows an officer positioning himself in front of the vehicle and firing three shots through the windshield as Good attempted to turn the car away from the officer.
“For them to sit there and lie, and try to paint a false narrative about Renee, is exactly what they have done for police abuse victims year after year after year,” said attorney and civil rights activist Nekima Levy Armstrong [Madison McVan and Max Nesterak, “Vigil for Renee Nicole Good Becomes a Call to Action Against ICE,” Minnesota Reformer, 2026.01.07].
Renee Nicole Good’s murder is the ninth time in four months that ICE lunkheads have engaged in this deadly and ill-advised response to American motorists:
The deadly shooting of a Minneapolis woman by an ICE officer Wednesday is the ninth shooting by an immigration officer in just the past four months, and all of them involved firing at people in vehicles, according to a New York Times report.
…In each of the recent ICE shootings, the government has claimed the officer was acting in self-defense.
Other reporting shows, however, that law enforcement experts have long warned against shooting into cars, and most of the nation’s major cities have banned the practice.
“Bad idea. Bad to do,” said Carmen Best, the former Seattle police chief, in a 2021 interview with the Times. “If you think the vehicle is coming toward you, get yourself out of the way” [Patrick J. Coolican, “Report: ICE Officers Keep Shooting People in Their Cars,” Minnesota Reformer, 2026.01.07].
The real domestic terrorists are Kristi Noem, Donald Trump, and their underqualified and undertrained ICE goons. Resist them at every turn. I’d recommend photobombing Kristi if you see her tweeting around town, but she’d probably turn her photo shoot into a protestor shoot.
NPR is reporting that Noem will face articles of impeachment.
Kristi lied. So did McLaughlin the spokesperson. The shooter who was supposedly injured walked around very well. All their arguments are as the city leaders said bullshit. How can anyone trust the lying POS. They really have created a ridiculously stupid masked force. The mayor had it right “get the f##k out of Minneapolis”. They must think because its winter ICE will be fine in Minnesota, they are wrong.
Her description of events is far different from every video I saw… my eyes must not work. Shot from the front corner and then double tap to the head through the side window, by the same “injured” agent who somehow was perfectly able to walk around to the side, shoot, and then walk away. Also there was not enough snow to get stuck…
This is so bad.
Well-trained law enforcement personnel are warned NOT to position themselves in front of a vehicle when contacting someone. That is common sense, but it is also a matter of being traianed in stressful situations to de-escalate the stress, not escalate it. This guy seems to have escalated the stress on himself, which cause him to fire at a person driving a vehicle, That is only done in very dire situations. This was not a dire situation. If he was fearing for his life because the driver might run him over, the appropriate response is to gett out of the way of the vehicle. It’s not as if she were driving 80 milrd per hour. At most she was driving under 5 miles per hour. Any fit person can outrun that, but the easiest way is to simply walk away from the front of the vehicle.
This guy was poorly trained, and Renee Good paid for it with her life. He is at fault, but so is Noem, who put poorly trained people out on the streets of a city. When you don’t train your Barney Fifes you cause death and mayhem. After she gets impeached and convicted, maybe Noem can become a spokesperson for Allstate’s “Mayhem” commercials.
We have reached the inflection point. You need to make your decision. Are you content being subjugated and abused? Will you cower in fear and hope you go unnoticed, as the bulldozer of oppression reduces cities, citizens and the constitution to rubble or will you make a stand to preserve liberty for your families and future generations? There is no more time to sit and hope the calvary is coming to your rescue. The calvary has been corrupted. The only hero that can save America is YOU. As tempting as it is to take up arms and bravely battle this criminal regime in retaliation, that premature reaction is exactly what Trump and his cult are hoping for. At this point, reacting violently will provide the oppressors false justification to declare martial law and suspend future elections. We may very well get to the point where armed resistance is our last possible defense, but first, before a civil war becomes unavoidable, citizens must unite in protest and hold a nationwide prolonged strike. There needs to be one unified non-negotiable demand. The current criminal regime must be removed from power. If successful, there will be numerous changes to the corrupt system that need to be implemented, but for starters, Trump and his cronies need to stopped cold. Anyone paying attention to the daily mayhem and chaotic destruction of lives and liberties in America needs to stop fantasizing about a midterm election correction. There is no clearer evidence that we are in the throes of a Nazi regime that aims to destroy democracy. We are not safe. After the Holocaust Jews said, “never again”. Well, what are we waiting for? Internment camps already exist. Authority without accountability is tyranny. This is what we get when Congress and the Supreme Court step aside and abdicate their constitutional role. This is what happens when we believe in fantasy and rumors over facts and science. This is what happens when we abandon our responsibility as citizens in favor of fear and apathy. We must be courageous every day to sustain a democracy, so much so that it is as normal for us as breathing.
Time for a general strike in Minneapolis and refusal of ANY service to DHS personnel.
Q ~ Psychologically, what does wearing a full-face mask and being literally anonymous do to the decision making of an ICE officer?
A ~This is a well‑studied dynamic in psychology, policing research, and crowd‑control literature.
Diffusion of responsibility:
Lower fear of consequences.
Moral disengagement:
Officers start to feel like interchangeable parts of a machine, not individuals with personal judgment.
This makes them:
More aggressive
More reactive
More likely to follow group cues rather than personal ethics.
They perceive situations as more dangerous
They expect resistance, even when none is present
They shift into a “combat mindset” rather than a “public safety mindset”
A full-face mask isn’t just anonymity—it’s a signal to the wearer that they are entering a hostile environment. That primes faster, more forceful decisions.
When everyone looks identical and no one is identifiable:
Group norms dominate
Dissent becomes less likely
Officers mirror each other’s emotional states
If one officer escalates, others are more likely to follow.
Masks create literal and symbolic distance:
You don’t see the full human face of the person you’re confronting
They don’t see yours
Emotional cues (fear, confusion, compliance) are harder to read
This reduces empathy and increases the likelihood of misinterpreting behavior as defiance or threat.
When you combine:
anonymity
militarized gear
group cohesion
high-stress operations
political rhetoric framing targets as threats
…you get a psychological environment where split-second decisions skew toward force, not restraint.
This doesn’t excuse anything—it just explains the mechanisms that make tragedies more likely.
JD is on lying right now. He wants everyone to just be quiet. Those poor ice agents golly. Well JD go f##k yourself. The ice agent committed murder. All you have to do is watch! Your the preposterous one. Better keep the FBI on this for your sake.
Kristi Noem covered up the Ravnsborg scandal so how is murder a problem?
