Hillsdale Standards Critic Recognized as Really Good Principal

The South Dakota Association of Elementary School Principals is recognizing Dr. Samantha Walder of the Tea Area School District as this year’s outstanding elementary principal:

Samantha Walder from Legacy Elementary in the Tea Area School District is the 2023 South Dakota National Distinguished Principal Honoree.

Samantha has served as an elementary school principal for the past eight years with a current student preschool-5th grade enrollment of 527.

The South Dakota Elementary Principals’ Association says Walder’s focus on school culture and communication was a highlight of her application [staff, “Tea Woman Named Outstanding Elementary Principal,” KSFY, 2023.03.24].

Dr. Walder served as one of the few South Dakota K-12 educators on Governor Kristi Noem’s handpicked social studies curriculum standards committee. After that redo committee turned into a rubber stamp for standards written by Hillsdale College, Dr. Walder publicly testified against the adoption of those radicalcostly, age-inappropriate, overly politicized, and unconservative Hillsdale standards.

SDAESP and related orgs will hand out awards to Walder and other top school admins at the South Dakota Principals Conference in Deadwood June 12–14. No word yet on whether Governor Noem will attend the conference to recognize Walder’s outstanding principality.

grudznick has repeated demonstrated how the Seven Indisputable Levels of Teacher should be used to give teacher raises, but I have not analyzed how the Fat Cat Administrators might be sorted out. I always assumed there were maybe 2 levels of FCA…the bad ones and the ordinary ones.

Perhaps this blogging begs us all to analyze how many levels of Fat Cat Administrator there are, and what they are?
If we got, say, the FILFCA going, we might provide a path to get the good ones, or the really good ones as Mr. H. points out here exist, some better raises. At the expense of the indisputable bad ones.

    FILFca:

    Bad
    Average
    Good
    Really Good
    Excellent

    Is Ms. PP a teacher?

The best people to rank her on the SILT scale are the other teachers and fatcat administrators. grudznick defines the scale, the teachers and fatcat administrators do the ranking. Or maybe the parents could do the ranking, but I know that would make the Teachers Union squirm wetly.

  3. $20 says she wears the pants in the family as a closet Democrat and Mr. PP toes her line.

Dr. Walder and ip follow each other on twitter.

  4. Hillsdale has no standards Cory, just ask Ian. It’s mediocrity in Michigan. Since the people of Michigan have rejected everything they stand for apparently they will continue to move into the red.

I recently noticed Hillsdale College owns tv airwaves late at night on one of the free channels. Larry Arnn sits in what looks like Abe Lincoln’s candle-lit cabin mansplaining how special America is and how the enemy must be met with people who refuse welfare assistance. It is disturbing to think about all the folks watching and eating it all up. I‘m down for them to have their fun in Michigan. However, their ambition to rule everything beyond Hillsdale’s campus reeks of the exact shenanigans the founders of my country detested and my constitution denounces, contrary to what Mr. Arnn says on his paid tv spot. When Hillsdale minions are amuck, beware and don’t get chipped.

  6. Now imagine Arnn’s TV show playing in our kids’ classrooms. That’s what Noem is after; that’s what Walder has been fighting.

  7. Hillsdales entire education breaks down to replacing a diverse student body with a cosmopolitan student body.

grudz has repeatedly (note the proper spelling here grudz) demonstrated why he should receive “Bad” ratings for grammar and composition.

There is nothing more important than the well-being and education of our kids. I still feel guilt and regret using this logic and the fact the opposition testimony at the RC Social Studies Standards meeting was yet to be heard for at least another hour long lunch break, after we had already sat for over two. I could no longer stand the offensive and pompous drivel from the proponent side, so I jumped the gun and prevaricated to the nice new president that I was too a proponent so I could get my nerve-racking public speaking dread over with. I am sorry I did flat-out lie to the board but…well… my part comes just after the a cult member’s rant.
I actually was patted on the back by a couple good people there who know me for not cold cocking him. However, that was part of why I was so razzed; I was contemplating between jail or the kids. Kids won.

  10. All Mammal, you were great. Keep up the good fight.
