Kevin Jensen Announces Futile Wingnut Challenge to Wiik for SDGOP Chair

The mugwumps have a sacrificial lamb to challenge the establishment in the contest for SDGOP chair. Representative Kevin Jensen (R-16/Canton) evidently plans to run against Senator John Wiik (R-4/Big Stone City) for the opportunity to lead the South Dakota Republican Party.

Jensen’s only advantage over Wiik is Jensen’s manly mustache, a distinction I have long held enhances a politician’s claim to leadership. Jensen has all the acumen and personality of a tumbleweed. Wiik isn’t much smarter, but he has the backing of everyone who matters in the South Dakota Republican Party power structure. Jensen couldn’t win election as House whip among his own Legislative colleagues.

The most radical right-wingers of the SDGOP, Jensen included, have a history of futile sallies against their own party establishment. They scored a minor victory in ousting party favorite Steve Barnett from the Secretary of State’s office in favor of theocratic election denier Monae Johnson, but they’ve never won a statewide election, and they have never managed to take control of their party. Jensen is not the skilled politician the far right needs to wrest their party from the grip of Noem and Schoenbeck; he’s just another cranky right-winger who will posture on his tri-cornered-hat abstractions, only to be crushed by his own party machine when he tries to get out of line.

If Mr. Wiik’s twitter account is any indication he’s as crazy as Republicans can get.

Yes, Larry, the vast majority of the Republicans are crazy as fruit loops – defying science, logic, and basic decency at almost every opportunity.

I wonder if Mr. Jenson is the mysterious anonymous emailer trying to convene his own Republican committee meeting today. The emails I read down the way at the War College were pretty goofy. They love conspiring.

Well, in a few days George Santos, the Long Island con man will be sworn into congress. What does anyone really know about the man? Nothing of course since everything he has said is an absolute lie. The Republican Party really can’t go much lower. At least Kevin Jensen is chair of the Mental Health Services Delivery task force, South Dakotan’s need that for sure. He’s definitely a pork barrel politician by the looks of it, and he isn’t running “against” anyone he says. He wants to re-establish the party base. On his Facebook site is the usual cowardly idiocy but he did give tips on how to clean your pool. What can anyone say?
