Senators Mike Rounds and John Thune have both advocated making more visas available for foreign workers willing to come work seasonal jobs here in labor-starved South Dakota. While the guy they voted for in 2020 kept turning foreign workers away, President Joe Biden is consistently supporting Rounds and Thune’s call for more foreign workers. Last April, the Biden Administration added 22,000 H-2B visas to the 33,000 already made available for this year’s summer tourism season; this week Biden’s Department of Homeland Security is giving the winter H-2B pool a 61% boost:
The Biden administration will make an additional 20,000 seasonal, guest-worker visas available for the winter season for the first time, the Department of Homeland Security announced Monday.
DHS has previously upped the number of available visas for the summer season, which is among the busiest for bringing in workers, citing labor shortages. Monday’s announcement of 20,000 visas are in addition to the 33,000 visas made available for people employed the first half of the fiscal year, October 1 to March 31.

It’s nice to see that South Dakota’s Republican Senators can agree with our Democratic President on the need to open America to more foreign workers.
It is good, as I hear Wall Drug is very short of workers for the next year, and many restaurants around the Black Hills had to shut earlier than usual. If the slackards in the US who want to sit home and get a free fat paycheck are too lazy to go back to work, I say give their jobs to those fellows willing to work. Then shut off the gravy train to the slackards.
More exploitations for these foreign workers. They will be put in dangerous jobs with little oversight while being paid the minimum wage, if that. Then they will have to listen to the insults and the glances of white people who will say “they are taking American jobs from real Americans”. Go home, they will say. What the hell are we gonna do in a civil war? Are we gonna have to get these H2B guys to come in seasonally to fight like the Hessians?
Add H2B, but also add $25.00 an hour wage while providing healthcare and childcare. Jobs will be filled, even at Wall Drug. Americans want to work, they just can’t afford to.

Seriously doubt Biden pays any attention to what magats want in the way of immigrants. Biden allows them to come because it is the right thing to do, for them and for America.
