Army Reserve Puts Ravnsborg Promotion on Hold

Attorney General’s warning: Counting chickens before they hatch increases their likelihood of coming home to roost.

Last month killer Jason Ravnsborg bragged about making the list for promotion his coveted and lucrative full coloneldom in the Army Reserve. Yesterday the Army Reserve put our Attorney Colonel on pause, saying it wants to see what the court says about his killing Joe Boever while driving distracted last September:

…the promotion has since been flagged and will not move ahead for confirmation in the U.S. Senate until criminal charges facing Ravnsborg are resolved, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Reserve told [that Sioux Falls paper] Monday.

“Soldiers pending investigation by civilian law enforcement authorities and/or civilian criminal proceedings may still be eligible for selection for promotion, but the Army Reserve retains discretion regarding actual promotion,” said Lt. Col. Simon Blake, a top public information officer with the United States Army Reserve. “In this case, relevant Army Reserve leaders will monitor the ongoing civilian proceedings and make further decisions at the appropriate time.”

Federal law states that the military can place holds on promotions if “a criminal proceeding in a Federal or State court is pending against the officer” [Joe Sneve, “Army Reserve Stops Attorney General Ravnsborg’s Military Promotion Due to Criminal Case,” that Sioux Falls paper, 2021.05.03].

So if the Army Reserve resubmits Ravnsborg’s promotion, the Senate gets to vote on it? Well, Senator John Thune, Senator Mike Rounds, what do you think? Does a lying schlub like Jason Ravnsborg who killed a man with his car while reading blogs on his phone,  used his office to get information for his criminal defense, yet insists he committed no crime deserve a big military pay raise and pension? Senator Thune, Senator Rounds, the brass may be sparing you this uncomfortable vote, but if they lift the hold and pass Ravnsborg’s promotion up to you, are you ready to look Nick Nemec and the rest of your constituents in the eye and say that the man who killed Joe Boever through sheer recklessness deserves any kind of federal rank and benefit?

Last we heard, Jason’s next court hearing is next week Wednesday, May 12.

Jeez, how could they, all he did was kill someone while driving distracted. He could have been over the limit too but we will never know. Its hard to believe this a hole isn’t in jail.

Expect ‘crickets’ , as usual, from Senators Thune and Rounds….. Unless, they can connive somehow to blame the ‘Dems’ or ‘liberals’ for his short-comings as a driver or person.

The most maddening thing about all this was Ravnsborg’s supporters arguing he did nothing wrong because he wasn’t charged with manslaughter. Ignore the fact he was charged with several traffic offenses and, as a result of those offenses, a man died. Nope. Nothing wrong. Might as well be Jesus.

well…anybody else would be doing hard time. Some of us are just more equal than the rest of us.

grudznick urged the masses to cry out and put their boot on the Army to stop this abomination of a promotion. The masses booted and the Army has responded. Has Mr. Ravnsborg, the inept, tweeted yet?

If there were a torch mob marching tonight I know where they would be. But unfortunately there is probably no torch mob marching tonight.
