Noem Flouts Mask Rule at Southeast Tech

Southeast Technical College, like every other post-secondary school that I’m aware of in South Dakota, requires folks to wear masks indoors to prevent the spread of coronavirus:

Employees, students and the public are to wear face masks when interacting with others on campus. This includes, but is not limited to, classrooms, lab areas or events held indoors, common workspaces, public areas, hallways, stairwells, meeting rooms, breakrooms and restrooms.

…We understand that it may take some time to adjust to this expectation. Employees, students or community members who forget to bring a mask with them to campus will be given a disposable, one-time use mask to wear for the day. These masks will be available at multiple locations around campus [Southeast Technical College, “Face Masks & Coverings,” retrieved 2021.01.11].

KSFY photographer Adam Huntimer spotted Governor Noem last week not following that rule:

As we saw in November when Noem violated USD’s and SDHSAA’s rules on wearing masks, Kristi is too busy keeping her face in the press to bother following rules or protecting our community from the pandemic.

    Just what is her problem, anyway?

  2. Scott 2021-01-11 08:03

    DaveFN, she has the Trump mental syndrome from having her face planted up his backside for months.

    Did anybody expect anything different from Noem. Think about here response to the Wednesday Coup. She could barely make a negative statement about the coup and never ever condemned Trump. Then there was her comments about Georgia’s new Senators being communists’.

    Noem is mentally ill.

    Gov. Noem reminds me of a spoiled little girl who has never been told no, or if she was, just ignored it.

  4. Bill 2021-01-11 08:18

    Could she be a Manchurian candidate?

    Only 1800 Americans died yesterday. 3200 on Saturday. drumpf/noem body count will surpass 23 million cases before noon today.

    Can noem be arrested by citizens?

    With the republican denial of covid and their general failure to follow safety guidelines, it is going to be interesting to see how many cases of covid are reported among our legislators, lobbyists, and the staff members who are around these people.

    Having a bit of knowledge of what goes on during session, with all the social parties and such, I’m going to guess that there will be an uptick in cases in Pierre in late January and February. It will be interesting how the GOP explain this to the voters when legislators are not in Pierre because they are quarantining or sick.

    When Prairie Barbie ran for congress in 2010, it became evident that she does not believe laws and rules apply to her. Over a period of 21 years, she had 28 traffic citations and two bench warrants issued for her arrest. https://www.mitchellrepublic.com/news/government-and-politics/1528437-noems-driving-record-takes-wheel-campaign. In retrospect, this record by itself is evident of her indifference to the law and rules. Her twenty tickets for speeding violations showed a disregard for the health and safety of other drivers. Fast forward to 2020, and we see the same self-centered attitude in action as she emulated Trump’s handling of COVID-19 by raising doubts about mask wearing, and often not wearing a mask herself in public even when mask wearing was required. As for lying, this was also evident in the 2010 campaign when she lied repeatedly about the Affordable Care Act. At times, Representative Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin was flummoxed in debates because Prairie Barbie lied shamelessly. The lying behavior also continues, such as her calling the Georgia senate candidates socialists and communists. South Dakotans would not tolerate this type of behavior in their own families. They should not tolerate it in their governor.

    Mike, maybe not arrested, but she could’ve been told no by any one of those school officials surrounding her at that meeting.

    Saying no to the Queen B something something something something is a good way to have funds with held, isn’t it, in one party wasteland?

    Come on, do I have to keep saying you can’t cover that beautiful face. Luckily she had on long sleeves.

    Noem, Thune & McConnell:

    For all of the criticism rightfully directed toward
    @tedcruz
    and
    @HawleyMO
    , we ought not to ignore
    @GOPLeader
    ’s equal — if not greater — role in perpetuating lies about the election; undermining public confidence in its outcome; and provoking Wednesday’s seditious insurrection.

    Days of reckoning for Noem and Thune MUST come from SD voters.

    gnoem has been vaccinated for covid and blackleg along with brucellosis. Her body rejected the swine vaccine though, something about lipstick.

    Democratic Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman said that she has tested positive for Covid-19, and she blamed fellow members of Congress who sheltered in place without masks during the violent attack on the US Capitol last week.

    You know, the county where I live made the national news, de santis is as bad as noem. I know thats hard to believe but its true. Sarasota county in its wisdom has all the old folks call in to eventbrite to schedule when a shipment arrives. You get to wait, and wait, and wait then told no go this time. We could have gotten one shot, but we need two. If my wife and I make it to a shot we are certainly going to be able to get front row seats to the next Neil Young concert also scheduled at eventbrite. First come first served, what a way to go. This pandemic has showed that conservatives are partially right, when government is run by Republicans it doesn’t work at all.

    Mr. Scott is indeed likely correct. With all the free food fests for the legislatures at night, the covid bugs could spread. My recommendation is to hit the early power breakfasts before everybody out and about. It will be very interesting if the legislatures get shut down in February because there are not enough left standing for the sessions.

    Whitley’s, noem’s driving violations, not wearing a mask, being a poor leader, ignoring science, wasting weeks traveling out of state.

    Impeach her for incompetence and malfeasance.

    Write to your 2 house members and state senator.

  18. cibvet 2021-01-11 23:43

    Why does no one have the guts to say “mask up or get out”.

  19. Rich 2021-01-12 00:52

    Why won’t someone have the guts to proceed to the local County Sheriff’s Office to swear out a complaint against this “leader” for criminal trespass? Do you think the area was posted? The others in the picture seem to have gotten the idea somewhere. C’mon … somebody file a complaint. Is she entitled to brazenly flout and break the law, continue to set a bad example, and do little to protect the public against the deadly contagion in our country’s midst?

  20. ds 2021-01-12 08:53

    K Noem just because you doubt science is that why you think it is your right to infect others with virus germs from Georgia? As of the this morning Jan 12 there is finally a mandate from CDC to vaccinate all peoples 65 and over…Kristi if you weren’t spending precious weeks traveling back and forth to Georgia to try propping up those anti—communists down there you could be ready with a mass vaccination plan. Instead it will take weeks to get up to speed.

    2048 deaths on Monday due to Covid. Likely be a large increase for the rest of the week. SOP.
