Melania Hates Christmas and Kids

Meanwhile, Melania Trump wages her own war on Christmas:

“I’m working … my ass off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f[…] about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?” the First Lady is heard telling Winston Wolkoff about her much-criticized White House decor [Abby Gardner, “Melania Trump Caught Ranting ‘Who Gives a F*** About the Christmas Stuff?’ on Leaked Recording,” Glamour, 2020.10.02].

But she won’t wage war on her husband’s policy of caging children:

In another recording, also aired on CNN last night, Trump seems to suggest that children separated from their parents on the border are better off. “The kids, they say, ‘Wow I will have my own bed? I will sleep on the bed? I will have a cabinet for my clothes?’ It’s so sad to hear it but they didn’t have that in their own countries, they sleep on the floor,” she said. “They are taken care of nicely there. But you know, yeah, they are not with parents, it’s sad. But when they come here alone or with coyotes or illegally, you know, you need to do something” [Gardner, 2020.10.02].

Whether you’re a Christmas crusader or a genuine humanitarian, Melania Trump gives us all something to loathe.

It’s just the same old, “I Really Don’t Care, Do U,” but with the f-word thrown in. Such a classy couple. Evangelicals, he’s YOUR guy! ;-)

Obama/ Biden are the ones who put kids in cages -look it up. Also many of these kids are dropped at the border by coyotes and their parents can not be located. I am sorry Kori this post shows your hate for are excellent First Lady, which is clouding your judgment. I know you are smarter than this.

  5. Loren 2020-10-02 13:06

Obama/Biden used these “cages” as a TEMPORARY solution while looking for better answers during an unanticipated surge of youngsters. YOUR guys use cages AS the solution after separating parents/children while NOT keeping any records for reunification. See the difference, Sam? No, I’m sure you don’t.

    As Loren points out:

The Obama administration did not have a policy to separate families arriving illegally at the border. Family separations rarely happened under the Obama administration, which sought to keep families together . . .

Separations under Trump happened systematically as a result of his administration’s policy to prosecute all adults crossing the border illegally. . . . .

Sam’s statement that the prior administration “put kids in cages” is partly correct, but misleading. To the extent that administration used what we now refer to as “cages” as a temporary holding area, they were used for adults and families rather than to incarcerate “kids” forcibly removed from their parents.

And, Sam’s point in presenting his misleading claim is a bit unclear. Is Sam praising Trump’s caging of kids because Sam thinks the former administration did it too? Or is Sam condemning Trump for similar evil and cruel behavior as Sam mistakenly thinks the prior administration engaged in?

Sam@ why don’t you look it up and show us your ironclad evidence that Obama and Biden put kids in cages. Prove it, dude.

I wonder why the war on Christmas? I’m not a believer, but I like Christmas. I like any pagan-based celebration of seasonal change. Also, the Christmas myth provides a great lesson in kindness to and appreciation of the poor. Maybe that’s why the Trump clan hates Christmas. If Mary showed up with Joseph to give birth at the Trump Hotel, well, there would be no room for them in the inn.

But Melania has a point about the “stuff,” by which I think she means the decorations. The decorations I like now in my dotage are the artwork my daughter did as a child and the whirly bell thingy that uses candles to drive a gentle bell ringing. If Melania wants to wage a war on “stuff,” I’ll sign up for that.

Ah, but they’re doing god’s work. What work for what god is fully indecipherable.

As a recovering Catholic, I still celebrate and love Christmas also Donald. When Michelle Obama was First Lady, she had a bunch of volunteer groups come in to help her put up the Christmas trees, so I am sure Melania had that option. I am also sure there are millions of volunteers around the country that would love the honor to help decorate the White House at Christmas.

It is just downright mean for this woman to record conversations between her and the First Lady, though. What gives her the right to do that.

  11. cibvet 2020-10-03 12:24

I guess if it is wrong to record conversations, then people should stop speaking with a
    “forked tongue”.

  12. mike from iowa 2020-10-03 12:53

In DC and New York, only one party needs to be aware the conversation is recorded. You’d think maybe people would be more careful what they say and in whom they confide.

Monica Lewinski found out the hard way and in Virginia, where Tripp recorded Lewinski, she violated statute law by not telling Lewinski she was being recorded, but was never prosecuted for it, if memory serves.

Here’s another form of excellent reporting that some don’t like:

“In the five years since Unicorn Riot incorporated as a nonprofit in Minneapolis, the organization has drawn praise from journalistic institutions as lofty as the New Yorker for its thorough, intimate coverage of social and environmental conflicts, while also spurring some controversy.”

“Unicorn Riot’s coverage doesn’t prioritize ‘official’ sources and considers the citizens most immersed in a situation as those closest to its truth. Because it is raw and unfiltered, it does have a different feel and a different vibe than perhaps mainstream journalists would be willing to produce.”

Unicorn Riot’s reporters are on the ground in the midst of the protesters, videoing and interviewing while livestreaming. They’ve covered the BLM protests, DAPL, the RNC in St. Paul and other events. They have reporters in Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, Washington, D.C., and South Africa.

You can catch Unicorn Riot on YouTube.
