Red Cuba Beating Coronavirus, Death Rate 1/17th of South Dakota’s

Commies can beat coronavirus; why can’t we?

Cuba for the first time in 130 days on Sunday said there were no new domestic cases of COVID-19 as most of the country moved into the final phase of resuming normal activities with masks and social distancing.

…Only a handful of COVID-19 cases were reported in Cuba over the last week, all in Havana. Most of the Caribbean island, home to 11.2 million inhabitants, has been free of the disease for more than a month.

…Cuba’s robust and free community-based health system, door-to-door search for carriers, isolation of the sick, suspected cases and contacts has allowed it to keep the number of infections under 2,500 with 87 deaths [Marc Frank, “Cubans Celebrate no Local Transmission of Covid-19 for First Time in Four Months,” Reuters, 2020.07.19].

Miguel Díaz-Canel‘s Cuba has seen 22.3 positive cases of coronavirus and 0.78 deaths per 100,000 population.

Kristi Noem’s Freedom™-loving South Dakota, population 885,000, has seen 7,943 positive cases, more than three times as many as Cuba, and 118 deaths, 36% more than Cuba. South Dakota has seen 897.5 positive cases and 13.3 deaths per 100,000 population.

But hey, “This is America, not a Communist nation!” Masks are for Commies! Better dead than Red… right?

Slogans and ideology don’t beat pandemics; practical policy, science, and masks do. Well done, Cuba!

We have a front seat for history.
Never has a nation aspired and worked to become a third world nation.

Are we on the way to becoming Portugal?

Given Cuba’s success against coronavirus, maybe we should tune in to the press conferences held in Havana so we can learn and i prove our pandemic response.

Tomorrow we shall overcome 4 million cases of drumpf pandemic easily. Isn’t 4 million somewhat larger than the original 15 total cases?

    Coronavirus Cases:
    3,960,583
    Deaths:
    143,792

cibvet, I hadn’t heard that before,
    “Mask it or Casket
    The choice is yours!”

That’s exactly right. If not their own casket, someone else’s. I plan to steal that, okay?

Never in my 67 years have so many other nations wiped up the floor with us. Now it seems like just about any country can and the GOP is okay with that. We must get that worthless piece o’ crapola out of the WH and begin the repair process on January 21, 2021.

Debbo– no need to steal, its a gift to you.

Amazing bit of history how we fought the Vietnamese commies for years losing 50,000 good GIs and turn around and shortly after we have strong capitalistic ties with their country while a little country 90 miles from us is so hated by Trumpists that he cancelled all the outreach and good will Obama had reached out to them with. Now, even Bermuda (a few miles east of Florida), refuses Americans coming to their islands! He’s sure making America great, isn’t he GOP?! Keep backing him-die with him people!

Nickel and cobalt in Cuba will make this country even more important as we go further into renewable energy. The right wing of America wants these minerals and the only way to get them is to steal them. China knows how to get them too, they buy them and thank trump everyday for being such a tool. Oh and Tic Toc, is more dangerous than a nuke…think of that for a minute and you get the picture of how far we have slipped.

“HAVANA, Dec 13 (Reuters) – Cuba’s nickel plus cobalt sulfide production will top 50,000 tonnes this year and earnings are up over 2017, the head of the country’s state monopoly Cubaniquel was quoted by local media as stating on Wednesday.

Nickel is one of the cash-strapped Communist-run country’s most important exports, but revenue from it has suffered in recent years due to a decline in production and prices.

The country was ranked 10th in world nickel production in 2017 and fifth in cobalt.

The government forecast last year’s output at 54,500 tonnes. Business sources with knowledge of the industry said final tonnage was around 50,000 tonnes of nickel plus cobalt, of which just over 4,000 tonnes was cobalt.” https://www.reuters.com/article/metals-cuba-nickel/cuba-sees-nickel-output-topping-50000-tonnes-idUSL1N1YI0TW

So Obama got the importance of Cuba as a trading partner to make America great again.

Cuba has succeeded despite incredible pressure from US imperialism. What if the US allowed foreign countries to pursue their own path?
