Why elect Joe Biden President? Ask a lifelong Republican:
Jack Weck is a public historian and former adjunct instructor of history at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois. He lives near Madison, now.
..“We felt it was necessary to have a presence and to make a statement and say, ‘Look, Joe Biden seems to be a reasonable guy. He’s got decades of experience in government. He’s stable. He’s forthright and he’s clear,'” Weck says. “If you look at the last four years of the presidency, you will see anything but those traits.”
Weck says he’s a lifelong Republican [Lee Strubinger, “Lifelong Republican Opens Biden Field Office in Madison,” SDPB, 2020.07.09].
Weck is apparently behind the newly opened Republicans for Biden office at Southeast 4th and Washington in Madison.
Reasonable, rational, older Republicans think Biden is ok because Biden is essentially an 80’s/90’s Republican:
1. Tough on Crime … Biden wrote the 1994 Crime Bill
2. Cold War 3.0 … good for defense contractors
3. Predatory Capitalism … Biden is known as the Senator from MBNA (giant credit card company)
Reasonable, rational, older Republicans will benefit from a Biden presidency.
Bernie Sanders says Biden may be the most progressive president since FDR.
Jason, a return to the Reagan/Bush years is a step in the right direction. Plus, if President Biden starts putting together Republican-sounding policy proposals instead of behaving like the progressive whom Debbo says Senator Sanders sees, we’ll have a shot at changing his mind.
This morning at the Conservatives with Common Sense Breakfast, the opening rant and discussions to follow will be about how we should proceed if Uncle Joe gets in there.

The round is allegedly non-lethal but this guy has head injuries from hitting the pavement and it was meant to serve as a warning that drumpf is losing his grip on sanity.
Mike, they’ve been doing that everywhere, targeting peaceful protestors, press, bystanders. Those “nonlethal” rounds are only that. They can cause serious injuries, but aren’t killers on their own. Rubber bullets are actually large, steel bullets coated in rubber. “Security” has been vicious.
The more body cams capture LEOs yukking-up violent take downs of unarmed citizens, often racially charged—exposes the difference between hires of quality moral and valued officers— and the coward bullies draped with militarized tools of murder.
