Noem Uses Impeachment as Fundraising Opportunity, Promises to Fight for Trump

In other really pressing matters, Kristi Noem is raising money to “fight back” against the “Radical Left” to defend Donald Trump from impeachment. So Noem herself says in this urgent fundraising letter received by an eager reader this month:

Noem fundraising letter, received by DFP 2011.11.12, p. 1.
Noem fundraising letter, received by DFP 2011.11.12, p. 1.
Noem fundraising letter, received by DFP 2011.11.12, p. 2.
Noem fundraising letter, received by DFP 2011.11.12, p. 2.

If you can get past the lies and misrepresentations (“can’t trust the media to tell the truth”? “Open Borders”? “Socialism”?), check writers should ask just what Kristi Noem will do with their money to fight for Donald Trump; why, if their goal is to fight for Trump, they should send money to South Dakota’s governor, who isn’t on the 2020 ballot; and where Kristi Noem will find the time and media platform to wage any difference-making campaign on Donald Trump’s behalf.

Meanwhile, the rest of South Dakota should wonder just how much attention Noem is paying to the actual job we elected her to do for us South Dakotans.

In less than a year in the job as Governor, I have helped deliver significant accomplishments that will help the people of our State……

She is going to fight for drumpf. Isn’t the legal term for that “aiding and abetting?”

  3. jerry 2019-11-13 08:26

IMPEACHMENT OF CHUBBY TRUMPY, begins at 10:00 ET this morning. GNOem should use the fundraiser to purchase popcorn so law abiding citizens like your’s truly, can watch this unfold. GNOem bears a whole lot of responsibility for the situation South Dakota finds itself in nationally, broken farms and broken dreams are the direct result of her failed work in Washington and now in Pierre.

  4. Donald Pay 2019-11-13 08:39

Your questions make too much sense for the Trump cult, Cory. I mean Noem is trying to shake down the brain dead. The brain dead don’t think. They have one functioning ability: writing checks.

I love this line: “And, frankly, I don’t like writing you about D.C. dysfunction right now.” But that’s the main point she writes about!!!! Kristi, you can’t think anyone with functioning synapsis believes this.

Then this gem: “In less than a year on the job as Governor, I’ve helped deliver significant accomplishments that will help the people of our state….” This would be the place in a fundraising letter where a Governor with accomplishments would bullet point three of them, but Noem doesn’t have any, so she has to default to lying: “So, I don’t worry too much about the noise back in Washington.” Ha. That’s all this letter is about.

If you can’t fundraise off your accomplishments you fundraise off the Trump cult’s brain deadedness.

I am sooo !@#%^&* sick and tired of the GOP, Noem, Dusty, Slim and Smiley telling me not to trust the FBI, CIA, NSA, MSM, career gov’t employees, etc, etc. I am only supposed to believe trump, Gym Jordan, Nunes, Hannity and Limbaugh. Facts don’t matter. Truth doesn’t matter. Stay in power at all costs. well, it IS costing us, the USA, as we alienate allies, cozy up to dictators, build walls and transfer wealth to corporations and friends of Donald. Sorry for the rant, but I am FED UP!

  7. Steve Pearson 2019-11-13 12:47

Uh, can I show you the fundraising emails, letter from Dems over the last 2 years????

  8. SDBlue 2019-11-13 13:00

So many of us are right there with you Loren! Each day is a rollercoaster of emotions from depression and anxiety to hopelessness and rage. Our empty suits in Congress, our nitwit governor & the majority of our intolerant state legislature consist of nothing but amoral complicit cowards defending the biggest criminal to ever sit in the People’s House as they shovel bulls*t SD voters swallow like it’s filet mignon. Attempting to reason with the Cult45 is a lesson in futility. They just won’t believe Don the Con is guilty of ANYTHING. It boggles the mind.

  9. o 2019-11-13 13:07

Steve, sure you can show your e-mails. Will you have a point then too?

  10. bearcreekbat 2019-11-13 13:13

As to Pearson’s comment about Democratic fundraising, isn’t it humorous when Republicans defend an inappropriate action by their a Republican leaders like Noem (and often Trump) by the “whataboutism”claim that “Democrats” did the same thing, thereby implying Republicans endorse Democrats alleged inappropriate behavior?

I mean, if Republics contend that the behavior in question is appropriate you would think they would rely on a different source to defend it than the Democrats they so frequently demonize at every opportunity. And if Republicans believe the behavior is inappropriate, wouldn’t it be odd to excuse anyone, Republican or Democrat, simply because someone else engaged in the inappropriate behavior in the past?

I get that huge institutions like political parties ebb and flow in philosophy, but what core value is being upheld by the defense of what President Trump has done? Has the GOP really devolved into an entire party of a cult of personality? Is the GOP really now against law enforcement agencies (and is that just federal or is that also any state holding the President to charges of wrong doing? I even get the “if you are not with me, you are again me,” but when did President Trump gain the royal “we” in that equation?

Assuming the most favorable outcome for President Trump: he dodges the impeachment and gets re-elected. Who is next? Who in the GOP steps into that role? Ivanka?

Do my GOP friends really want THIS president this badly? Do they really want THIS nation – newly defined by these new “norms?”

  12. mike from iowa 2019-11-13 13:22

Speaking of drumpf’s favorite grope toy, he gives her credit for creating 14 million jobs when, in reality, only 6 million have been created. The guy can’t help but lie and that is not normal. Maybe for stoopid wingnuts it is.

  13. Porter Lansing 2019-11-13 13:28

Pertaining to the Republican cross examination of Ambassador Taylor and Mr. Kent: Jim Jordan’s assertion that Trump put no conditions on Ukraine’s President Zelensky because the aid was eventually released with no investigation initiated by Zelensky. Jordan’s assertion ignores the “crux of the biscuit”. The aid was released without Zelensky doing what Trump demanded (before the aid would be released) BECAUSE Trump got busted before the whole “drug deal” was allowed to happen. Trump released the aid because if he didn’t it would look even worse to public opinion. The whistleblower exposed the crime Trump was cooking up and numerous witnesses have agreed under oath.

I’m thinking someone with class would have unite directive. I get it the haters write the checks but if it were me I’d take checks form everyone with the support of trying to unite our state right now. The amount might even be bigger then the fool’s check that actually fell for this letter. It’s like a go fund me on the hate and distortions right now, which is morally sickening.

As Donald Pay notes, it’s absurd to expect rationality from a Trumpist fundraising letter. But I still would like to know how exactly money donated to a Governor not on the 2020 ballot goes directly toward defending Trump from impeachment.

We should watch the campaign finance reports for Q4 2019 and Q1 2020; I wonder if Trump has put out orders that each GOP governor contribute a certain amount to his campaign to keep receiving favors or disaster aid or some other domestic quid pro quo.

Or maybe Kristi plans to make a big donation to Trump and buy herself an appointment to one of the many empty spots in the Trump Administration. Governing, actually being responsible for getting things done, must be a real drag for Kristi. Maybe she’d like to go back to Washington….

  18. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2019-11-13 20:00

All the more reason I’m glad I don’t watch TV (although PBS NewsHour on YouTube tonight was worth watching).

So if Noem’s raising money for those ads, we’re going to see that cash transfer written down on her campaign finance report and on Trump’s. Is the Trump campaign itself paying for the ads you’re seeing, or do they come from PACs?

  19. Porter Lansing 2019-11-13 20:47

About 75% of that spend ($6.23 million) has come from Trump’s 2020 campaign and the Republican National Committee. The Republican establishment wants to turn the impeachment crisis into a political tool, doubling down on the issue in an effort to curry favor from 2020 voters — rather than hiding from it.
    – The numbers provided by Advertising Analytics include ad spending across all mediums, including national television, local television, radio, digital and social media.

  20. grudznick 2019-11-13 21:42

Mr. H, who audits these finance reports? I don’t know and understood you might know. Somebody must audit them. Full audits. Is it the state Auditor?

  21. Debbo 2019-11-14 00:48

Porter, CNN’s story confirms that Criminal Creep didn’t release the money till after he’d been caught attempting to extort Ukraine.

“Right around the time that the aid was released fully — September 11 — Congress had begun to ask questions (on a bipartisan basis) about why the aid was being withheld. And there was already talk about a whistleblower complaint, which had been formally filed on August 11, alleging wrongdoing by Trump on that call with Zelensky among other things.”

Grudz, I don’t think anyone audits the campaign finance reports filed with the Secretary of State. The state wasn’t going to do anything about Rhoden last year until the press brought his failure to file his statement of organization to their attention.

China says no to trade deal. So why fight for a loser.

“Stocks opened flat-to-lower Thursday as doubts grew over prospects for a so-called phase one trade deal between the U.S. and China, a day after the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 each eked out a record finish.”

China controls the stock market in the United States, my how far we have fallen with corrupted republican’s. Dump them all and lock some of them up!

  25. mike from iowa 2019-11-14 12:59

Two things about impeachment…. Fake Noize big announcement about hearings had to do with George Kent’s three large water bottles.

Secondly, drumpf didn’t watch hearings so he has no first hand knowledge of what was said. How does that qualify him to voice his opinions?

GNOem should ask China for da money. South Dakota is one of the most wealthy states in the United States. Our wealth here is located in Sioux Falls…on a simple street corner. Corruption, why certainly. Why should we expect anything different. When the wealthy hide their money, ya gotta wonder about the elected officials who have enacted the laws to hide it from the taxpayers, that would be us’ins. Turns out, we are Panama, without the tropical weather.

“Late last year, as the Chinese government prepared to enact tough new tax rules, the billionaire Sun Hongbin quietly transferred $4.5bn worth of shares in his Chinese real estate firm to a company on a street corner in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, one of the least populated and least known states in the US. Sioux Falls is a pleasant city of 180,000 people, situated where the Big Sioux River tumbles off a red granite cliff. It has some decent bars downtown, and a charming array of sculptures dotting the streets, but there doesn’t seem to be much to attract a Chinese multi-billionaire. It’s a town that even few Americans have been to.

The money of the world’s mega-wealthy, though, is heading there in ever-larger volumes. In the past decade, hundreds of billions of dollars have poured out of traditional offshore jurisdictions such as Switzerland and Jersey, and into a small number of American states: Delaware, Nevada, Wyoming – and, above all, South Dakota. “To some, South Dakota is a ‘fly-over’ state,” the chief justice of the state’s supreme court said in a speech to the legislature in January. “While many people may find a way to ‘fly over’ South Dakota, somehow their dollars find a way to land here.”https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/nov/14/the-great-american-tax-haven-why-the-super-rich-love-south-dakota-trust-laws

Fundraising opportunities by the billions here.

Roger Stone guilty on all counts of lying to protect drumpf and other stuff.

  31. mike from iowa 2019-11-15 13:12

This is simply unbelievable a president of the USA could be this stoopid and still be conscious.

Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Friday said that President Donald Trump had dramatically shifted the second impeachment hearing by tweeting out attacks on former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch as she was testifying in the House Intelligence Committee.

The host of Special Report with Bret Baier said Yovanovitch was a sympathetic witness but only could offer tangential evidence about Trump’s alleged extortion scheme with Ukraine.

“However, his whole hearing turned on a dime when the president tweeted about her real time,” Baier said, “and during the questioning Adam Schiff stopped the Democratic questioning to read the tweet to her.”

“That enabled Schiff to then characterize that tweet as intimidating the witness or tampering with the witness, which is a crime. Adding essentially an article of impeachment real time,” Baier explained.

Well Marlboro Barbie and Cardboard Mike, HOW DO YOU LIKE DRUMPF, NOW? Enough to vote to save this criminal from justice?

  32. Debbo 2019-11-15 13:43

GOP so clearly has nothing, No Thing. They’re talking to the ambassador about how she gets appointed and serves at the president’s pleasure so he can fire her or bring her home if he wants.

Yup. So? That has nada to do with Criminal Crud extorting Ukraine. There is no defense because he and Mulvaney admitted it already. “He does it all the time.”

Jue-Lee-ahh-kne was asked if he’s worried that Beefy Bozo is going to throw him under the bus. Jue-Lee-ahh-kne said no because, among other things, “I’m not, but I do have very, very good insurance, so if he does, all my hospital bills will be paid.”

Oh, so Jue-Lee-ahh-kne can blackmail the president too. Well how nice. Pootie and Jue-Lee-ahh-kne have the goods on him. Who else?

“Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick’s entry into the 2020 Democratic presidential race is drawing renewed scrutiny toward his efforts to oust officials who had tried to put his brother-in-law, a convicted rapist, on the state’s sex offender registry.

Patrick’s brother-in-law Bernard Sigh was first convicted of spousal rape in 1993 and was again convicted of raping Patrick’s sister earlier this year, The Washington Post reported. ” Washington Post 11/15/19

Today, Pelosi brought out the queen in this chess match. She offered to let President Trump testify as to what happened on the “perfect” call. This will be the endgame for the President (and he will not be on the winning side of it). To this point, the President has avoided speaking under oath at all costs in any situation. Given his loose relationship with the truth, this has been VERY wise – lying is not illegal UNLESS under oath.

Remember, it was not an affair that President Clinton was impeached for; it was lying under oath. What do we really believe the over-under is for President Trump to speak with complete absence of lies?

  39. Debbo 2019-11-17 20:22

No chance Liar-in-Chief will not lie. He’s truly crazy and doesn’t know what is true. Madam Speaker Pelosi is light years ahead of him. Malicious Misogynist cannot let a woman get the better of him so he may decide that “in his great and unmatched wisdom,” he’s the best bozo to defend himself. I doubt it, but due to his advanced mental illness, anything is possible.

Looseranna clay pigeon Steve Scalise was telling Jake Tapper the military aid to Ukraine has an attachment that said no money unless they clamped down on corruption. (btw, that is what Ambassador Yovanovitch was doing in Ukraine). Tapper said there was no mention of fighting corruption in either phone call, only drumpf’s bribery scheme to get dirt on Biden. Then Scalise did a 180 and claimed there were no attachments to military aid.

Guys lie out of both sides of their butts all the time.

She’s a Russia expert and she’s going to Deep-Six the scheme (that Putin and Trump concocted) that it was Ukraine not Russia who helped Trump steal the election from Hillary.
