We’re already paying Kristi Noem’s son-in-law Kyle Peters a good salary to ensure that he can provide the Governor’s daughter Kassidy with the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed. Now our tax dollars have helped Kyle and Kassidy enjoy a spectacular wedding in Custer State Park:
Good work, Custer State Park employees! You’ve helped prove that, despite all of her anti-government rhetoric, when the Noems need to support their family, they turn to government workers and government money.
Didn’t even center the old, gnarly tree in the picture. Some photography.
Farm Subsidies
Fences
Campaign Security
Nepotism
and now Kid’s weddings
Kristi is one of the biggest Welfare Queens we have ever seen in SD.
Perhaps the term “Taxsuckers” applies.
Did the taxpayers really pick up the tab for this wedding?
Jenny,
I doubt she got any tax-free benefits, other than the view. Custer State Park facilities are open for weddings/receptions/meetings, but there is a fee. These are usually money makers for the Park. My sweeties’ daughter got hitched up there, and it was a great facility and setting. I’m not sure if the employees are all state employees, or if they are employed by concessions. At any rate, I’m sure they appreciated the business, and did an extra-special job.
Hanging a holy roller right wing nut job on their own petard is its own reward, Jenny. It doesn’t matter if a lot of taxes or a few thousands in taxes were used to make this government property site available for the Empress and her family, they clearly took advantage of their tax-fueled positions to take a service that is not ordinarily available to us, the unwashed masses.
While in Congress, Empress Kristi was a self-proclaimed conservative who went to war with the EPA, which was established by Republican President Richard M. Nixon to preserve our access to safe water and safe air. It’s a cheap tactic that feeds a phony narrative that Noem isn’t a taxsucker, but a tax fighter. As a House member, Empress Kristi was lazy and ineffective for our state and yet embarrassingly quick to snatch up junkets to the Pacific Rim and shower herself with the largess of federal elected office.
For the life of me, I have yet to see one day in her term as Governor that tells me she had big plans for our state when she could take the reins of government. Her crowning achievements after winning a close election? Guns for everyone in public. Opportunities for skunk and coon hunters to get $10 a tail bounty.
Is there a third accomplishment for her first 100 days? Crickets.
After two caretaker governors (Rounds and whatshisname?), we have discovered there is a lower level of governing. A zero. Who likes the cushy freebies she gets as governor.
We picked up the tab to create this idyllic wedding space. A Republican who hates government chose a venue that is available only because government maintains it and protects it from private development.
Mike, one of the Watertown photographers has the last name Holien. I am thus led to suspect that the choice of photographer had more to do with Republican cronyism that seeking the most discriminating artistic quality.
I wonder if there are other weddings in the Custer Park. Oh, look at this blue like to a brochure advertising the packages they sell.
